Unusual, domestic animals' names

My cat was called jeffrey.

If I had a dog I would call him Ralph, if asked his name if lost
He could answer, Ralph, Ralph, Ralph.

Our cats are Freja and Astrid, two Scandinavian goddesses. They rule the house of course.

I have just bought a new budgie. As it was Hallowe'en on the day I bought it, I have named it Trixie (trick...see).

I knew a beautiful appaloosa horse called Ben. It was short for Benefit because the owner had paid for him using her child benefit.

I had a rescue cat called askit . If you wanted to know her name, the owner would say I don't know, ask it.

We changed her name.
I knew a pair of geese called Maggy and Dennis.

When our children were very young, my daughter came back from school one day grumbling that she was the only child in the whole school that didn't have a pet 🙄

So we ended up with two little black poodle puppies.
The children named one Sooty.
My husband flatly refused their request to name the other one Sweep, he said it was bad enough having poodles in the first place and he wasn't calling those names out in public! So she was Sasha.
They were great little dogs 🐾🐾

A friend looked after three baby hedgehogs and called them Freeman, Hardy and Willis! 🦔🦔🦔

One of our cats was called Leopard.
He was an Asian Bengal.

We called one of the dogs we’ve had over the years ‘misty’ - not very creative I know - but after we got to know her we renamed her ‘Mavis’ after the character in Corrie, because she was such a ditherer.

We had a cat called Watney, after the beer, my little brother named him because he liked the song in the Watneys Beer advert.

I have known three dogs called Monty. The first, a toy poodle, was short for Montmorency; the second, a cocker spaniel, was short for Montgomery, the name of the house at my school of which his owner was the house master; and the third, a labradoodle, appears to be short for nothing, so I have decided that it is short for Montepulciano, a pleasant Italian red. Incidentally, when FM Lord Montgomery visited my school, he was rather put out to discover that the house was not named after him, but after a former housemaster.

A friend had brother and sister cats called Bonnie and Clyde and our rescue cat was called Smoochie. When young our daughter called her goldfish Virgil.

Am annoyed now as can’t think of the breed, it’s a Yorkshire something but not a little Yorkie.

We had a cat called Twiggy because she was very thin when she walked into our lives.

Recently knew Trevor, a horse.

I inherited two ducks from the previous owners of our house, they were called Elvis and Madonna, Elvis had a quiff! I had a horse called Sid, who was very handsome and elegant and another called Bisto, both came with these stable names although they had different posh registered names

Singer Katy Perry has a cat called Kitty Purry!

My aunt had a rescue cat called Rubbish. As a child my father had a goat called Guess!

Very clever names here.
