Not ashamed but owning up now would just hurt other people.

My Dad once told me that way back when he was around 7 something came through the door with the post that he decided to open, it was a free sample of chocolate so he ate it, as did many other kids in the same street it seems as they all had to rush to their outside ‘privy’ that day.Chocolate laxative!
Does that still exist I wonder?

I hate a whole packet of chocolate Hampden Wafers when I came in from school.. I let my mother think my three year old brother had hidden them somewhere. I really must confess to him one of these days,,

Several things before I was 18. Only 1 that I deeply regret and always will forever.

When I was 17 I drove my Father’s car on a night out. I reversed into a lamp post and the back of the car was damaged. I never owned up and said someone must of hit the back of the car when it was parked! Forty two have passed, I still haven’t owned up!!

I did the same, because they were orange flavour and I liked the taste. Except I owned up! Mum rang the doctor and he said I'd fine, and I was.

I ate a bottle full of junior aspirin. I blamed my little brother. He had to go to hospital and have his stomach pumped. My life went all downhill after that. He still thinks he ate the aspirins.

No. In those days there were no child-proof caps. They tasted really nice and fizzy and were meant to be chomped not swallowed.

I suffered no ill effects except a guilty conscience which I've had for years and no, I wasn't even aware there was such a thing as suicide then. I was about four years old!

I am ironically much healthier than my brother but that's more down to lifestyle than anything else.

I was in the third year at junior school - my female teacher asked me to take a note to the male teacher in the next class. Yes, you've guessed, I dawdled up the corridor - I read the letter - and yes, they were having an affair.

Hid the chalk box at school and typed a letter blaming another girl. Mum came up the school and teacher asked everyone if they had a typewriter pretending it was for sending letters out. Told them I used to have a typewriter but gave it to my cousin. They never found out it was me!

Many years ago, I accidently shut the church safe door during a live TV broadcast, not realising that the cables for the transmission had been connected to our sound system inside the safe. The live broadcast came to an abrupt halt.
No-one ever knew that I was responsible.

A few things as a teenager.

I used to be sent off to weekly dancing classes. In reality I would get on a train up to London with my pal and wander around Soho looking at all the weird people there in the early 60s. Never paid train fares , no one checked.

I asked my mother if I could go and see some friends with a horse after school when I was about 12. She said no. I went anyway one night, pretending I was somewhere else. I was allowed to sit on the horse - fell off and the horse trampled on my ankle. Which swelled up and was painful. So I had to make some excuse as to why I had a painful swollen ankle. I think I was almost 60 before I told my parents about that haha!

When I was 10 going on 11 I owned up to something in school and it caused me endless trouble. The experience taught me to keep quiet and not to become involved. So in the corporate world I was deaf, blind and dumb when it came to office politics.

My neighbour used to come around to whinge about things. Since I got a ring doorbell Ive never opened the door to her or acknowledged that I knew she had called. She once asked me why I was so hard to contact. I told her I dont wear my hearing aid indoors.

This is true because I neither have nor need a hearing aid.
