Rathe underwhelmed actually .
Another one with no sisters so I can’t relate.

Dreadful. No reference to John Lewis, it seems like an awful short film.

It’s filmed in the (recognisable ) Oxford Circus “flagship” store

So glad to read that I am not the only one who wasn't very impressed. I found it confusing!!

I have five sisters I can relate to ‘borrowing clothes’ but Christmas is lost in this chaotic advert.

Oops I had been watching some sad ad with a Robin etc. the real one is colourful and apt. Sorry ! Still don’t like it though, but I’ve got a headache too.

Ahhh Sonnet by Richard Ashcroft, wonderful song, one of my favourites so that is a massive tick from me, but the ad itself, it's ok.

I am another Edgar fan, i still have a cuddly Edgar in our bedroom, i bought one for our niece and one for me! We still play that ad occasionally as it never fails to make us smile. (And we are Bastille fans too smile )

I'm not overly ecstatic about it this year, but then I never had a sister, so maybe I don't quite get it. It's a bit hectic, too.

I've got a sister and I don't get it.

Underwhelming

I thought it was chaotic. I have got a headache so maybe I'd like it more if I was feeling better but as of now it is probably my least favourite of the Christmas ads.

In the past the music has been almost as important as the film. It just seems background this time and not really part of it, IMO.

Thanks, had forgotten his name, it was the sweetest ad and the message about being different, neurodiverse.❤️

Anniebach Thu 14-Nov-24 08:54:05

Edgar was 2019

Was it JL who did the lovely little dragon ad? He was over excited and set fire to everything.

I loved Edgar. I’ve still got him as my phone screensaver.

I liked it - loved the dog on the trampoline of course- but this is gently nostalgic and spoke to me as my sister is in a care home in Nova Scotia with Alzheimer’s.

Liked the jumper too!

Just watched Janet as Mrs Claus 2016. MS. Where's my hanky.

Anniebach Thu 14-Nov-24 08:37:21

Yes, Edgar the excitable dragon , my favourite John Lewis

Yes I found it too rushed. Nothing could better the one with the bouncing dog on the trampoline. Or years back the one with the woman from baby to older age. Or the Mrs Santa ...possibly not JL maybe MS... with the wonderful actor Janet something..will have to Google her and watch again.

I found it a bit confusing to be honest.

Underwhelming IMO

Absolutely perfect 👍🏻

Just the right level of sentimentality, no specific product placement and a theme I’m sure most of us can relate to.
Accompanied by Richard Ashcroft performing Sonnet, it’s a winner in my book.

What does anyone else think?
