Do you need an Executor of your Will if you are leaving everything to your only child?

You child (provided they are 18+ years old) can be executor and beneficiary. They must not sign as a witness to the will.

We have just made our will leaving everything to our daughter, she is executor and sole beneficiary, was very simple

My hubbie is an only child, parents both elderly now . They did their will a few years ago, hubbie is sole beneficiary and executor. Their long standing friends and neighbours were witnesses

My sister and I were the only executors, and only beneficiaries of our father's will

Thank you all, this has helped. Seems easy enough.

I was executor, with my brother, to our parents will. Others benefitted too.
