Stockings/Tights

I always used to wear tights, my skirts were too short for stockings! Now I can't bear either, they make my legs itch so much. Only wear a dress in summer and nothing on my legs then, should I wear a dress for a special occasion in winter I would wear over the knee socks but that doesn't happen often.

If forced to wear a dress, I wear thick opaque tights. I have a large bag of hardly worn tights left over from my working days (16 years ago). I think they will see me out. Much prefer wearing jeans or trousers.

Snag tights are wonderful. Lots of different colours ,sizes and deniers. They are fairly expensive but wash well, mine are 3 years old.

I was looking to buy thick bamboo tights to wear with dresses and boots, has anyone had experience of them?

Just what I’ve done today. My legs felt really cold in just the jeans.

Very rarely, I hate how they pull even if they are a good make with a gusset. I usually wear legging under my trousers in the winter and just trousers in the summer, if I do HAVE to wear a skirt I wear thick opaque coloured tights in the winter and try to get away with bare legs in the summer. I love bare legs and bare feet, so live in shorts when I can but I do feel the cold too so it is a balance act.

Stockings ? Not since I was a teenager. I hated all the scaffolding that went with them.

Thick opaque tights with dresses here now it is cooler. I try to find either bamboo or cotton ones as I prefer to use plant fibres. They can be a bit saggy sometimes, but they last well.

I haven't worn a dress or skirt since I retired, so no tights needed. Trousers are so much more comfortable and practical.

I last wore tights about 11 years and only because it was the first time in 20 years I’d worn a dress. It was to an Irish wedding. A very lively one with a ceili band.

I slipped on the dance floor and tore a hole in the knee of my tights. I was having too much fun to bother about it. After another few energetic dances the hole gradually became bigger. Then I suddenly felt a strange sensation on my leg. The leg of the tights completely detached itself at the knee and slid down to my ankle 😀

Oh dear, that made me laugh but I know what Irish weddings are like!

I wear opaque tights in black, plum and dark green depending on what else I have on. I wear them with soft green leather ankle boots by Gudrun Sjoden or my claret biker boots.

When I was 16/17 I worked in school holidays and weekends in a shop that sold tights. They were just coming into fashion then and were brands like Mary Quant, Pretty Polly, Charnos. A Rep called one day and let me choose a pair in just about every colour in the range if I could persuade my boss to carry that range. I did and the tights lasted me for ages.

Not worn tights since I left my office job 20+ years ago. They made my legs feel too hot. Too hot to handle, that's me!

Can’t abide either it’s trousers or bare legs in Summer. I have a pair of thick black tights for under a dress if the occasion arises but I think I’ve worn them twice under sufferance.

I have to wear Medical Compression tights all the time, even in the summer heat. I have done for the last thirty years so I always wear trousers/jeans or long skirts. I was measured, ankle, thigh, waist and length at first for the right size. They are a struggle to take off and on as they are compression 3, so using thin medical gloves help not to hole them.

I’m quite petite but have fat legs and have never found tights that fitted me. Made worse by the fact that you can’t try them on before you buy them so I’ve got a drawer full of ones that don’t fit. I don’t really wear dresses these days and it’s annoying that, when there was a period of time when I was going to a few weddings Snag tights weren’t around.

Yes, not all the time, though only if I’m wearing a skirt/dress.
I’m 5’10” tall and have bought my “tall” tights from Silkies. They last forever! I don’t know if they are still trading online.

I wear tights all the time. I feel the cold and need thick tights in winter under trousers and skirts.

My main problem with them is the length of the leg. Some have very short legs and do not stretch. I buy tights from Sainsburies or Superdrug because they fit. I have never had any hygiene problems with tights. I fclothes ae not comfortable I wear something else, but tights have never really been a problem.

Last time I wore tights and a dress was 2020, now it’s jeans or shorts, socks or bare legs.
Being tall, for years I struggled with tights and stockings that weren’t long enough, embarrassing memories!

I wear tights but rarely wear them. Jeans and trousers for me and socks or pop socks.

I wear thick, ugly tights under my trousers in the cold weather but I would never wear stockings as I developed an real aversion to them after finding my mother's variedly interesting sexy underwear drawer, Purely by accident as a teenage spotty prude!!
I couldn't look at my mother & father the in same way for a long time afterwards!!!
I'm a big knicker wearer and I'm proud of it.
Anyway, MrIlovedogs22 would have a fit if I were to roll -up to the boudoir looking like a woman who should know better!!! 🤔

Can't bear tights , haven't worn stockings since I was in my 20s. Trousers and socks for me with thermal long johns underneath in this cold weather.

Black opaque tights for me. I like pinafore dresses with polo necks and they work well together. Thicker in winter and often lacy style.

Don’t were dresses or skirts haven’t done for about 40 years or more so no no tights for me
