Good morning from a much calmer N.Bucks. A light wind and not raining.
I’m out for lunch with 3 friends, we meet up about once a month. We met nearly 50 years ago when we all moved into new houses and had our children some of f whom are still good friends now..
I’ll fill up the rest of the day with various jobs and some crafting.
Kind thoughts to al especially those of you who are poorly.

Good morning everyone from Essex. It’s bright out, and calm, I think a better day is forecast. There aren’t many leaves left on the trees in the park at the end of the garden now.
DD is in the office today, so Son in law is in charge of school runs etc before settling down to working from home.
I need to sort out the post that DD2 brought over from home yesterday, then later this week I’ll get down to writing Christmas cards. I’m finding it hard to get into Christmas mode this year because I’m not at home and am still not very mobile.
I’ll read all your posts later - my coffee time treat!
Have the best day possible everyone, thoughts are with those who are struggling in any way.

Good morning all. Heavy rain and howling winds are the unpleasant start to the day in Glasgow. I find such high winds disturbing, always have done since childhood. GD2 is also affected by them as she told me as a toddler, I don’t like the blow granny, with her head in her hands.

Grandmabatty I too am worried about your symptoms. If a GP appointment isn’t available, in your shoes, I would head for A&E. Your own health should come first although I understand your not wanting to let your DD down.
Grammaretto GD2 has chosen TKAMB for her English prelims this week. One of my favourite books/films.
Good luck to your DD in her new job Jaxjacky.

Take care all going out in these horrible weather conditions.

This morning is calm and golden and it is impossible to believe how wild the last couple of days have been, which will be no comfort to those poor people flooded out of their homes. Extreme weather is certainly more frequent and terrifying in its effects.

Coffee with friends this morning which will mean much chat and laughter so had better go and get organised. Have a good day, everyone.

Good morning Mick and all from a damp northwest coast.
Enjoyed the village Christmas Fayre (spelt that way..) yesterday with lots of resistible stalls, although I gave in and bought two cyclamen to kill.

Off soon for my six week check up after my surgery 20 miles away, followed by a little food shopping. DD arrives from the south tonight and I have cooked a pork casserole.

Birthday greetings to the Gingsters, thoughts to Grammaretto and all.

Grandmabatty Mon 25-Nov-24 08:28:14

Thank you everyone. I let dd know and contingencies are in place. I managed to get an appointment for this afternoon.

Jaxjacky Mon 25-Nov-24 08:31:34

Happy Birthdays to your husband and son 🎂🥳 Gingster

Good morning from windy County Durham.
Dance fit class this morning and school pick up later. Other than that a quiet day.
Grandmabatty I echo what others have said, you'll make yourself far worse if you don't get your health sorted first, otherwise you may find there will be many more days when you'll be totally unable to offer help to DD. Hopefully you will get a doctor's appointment soon.
Try to have best day you can all, especially those with worries and illness.

Annypop Mon 25-Nov-24 08:37:20

Glad to hear Gb. thanks

Good morning all from a wet Glasgow, where it 8°c.

I have had a night of the most disturbing and weird dreams and am all over the place.

Grandmabatty, your lovely DD would be horrified to hear that you are not seeking medical attention. Please phone the doctor. How will you be able to look after a toddler, when you are so unwell?💕

We had an unexpected little visitor yesterday and boy was she cross! The downside of coming off steroids compounded by a large molar coming in. (Her parents hadn't noticed it,)
She insisted a potato was an apple and had a full blown meltdown, when I replaced it with a real apple. She then put the potato in the bin in disgust. 😂
DS had taken her to see Dollie to give her her birthday gifts, she was difficult there too!
Poor wee lamb is usually so easy going.

DS asked why I was laughing, as he struggled to cope. I explained he had been exactly like that for years, due to the large amounts of steroids he had. It was pay back time. 😉
I asked him why he thought I love BabyD, so much, his response: She reminds you of me.? The resemblance is uncanny.
I spent his younger years going between doctors and hospitals, never getting more than a few hours sleep. I genuinely never thought he would grow up, let alone become this tall, strapping man.😍

I won't be doing much today, apart from buy a brush for the parish hall, go to Mass, put up some signs and then home. i hope! I am pretty whacked.

Best wishes to all, who are struggling. Have a good day folks and stay safe, our Welsh friends.

Thank you everyone. I let dd know and contingencies are in place. I managed to get an appointment for this afternoon.

Crossed post's. I am so please to hear that you have secured an appointment, GMB. X

Good morning Mick and everyone from brightish and breezy Carlisle.
I thought I heard the forecaster say there were 5 named storms due before Christmas...that would be about one a week, surely not?!
Yesterday turned out to be quite benign, we had blue skies and cloud in the morning so I went for a walk in the park. I'm concerned about the seemingly missing pair of resident swans which I didn't see last week either. Their cygnets are still about.

Today, the usual Monday morning chores then I must get round to the Australian Christmas cards which I mean to post tomorrow. There's also a condolence letter to write for a bereaved friend, so difficult....

I'm glad to see you're starting to get sorted Grandmabatty and hope you have a swift recovery.

And wishing you all the best possible day.

Good morning from a dry, windy NE.
The weather here has not been as bad as other areas.
A day of housework, nothing major, just run the vacuum round and clean the kitchen.
Watched Joy on Netflix yesterday, James Norton as Robert Edwards was good and I liked Bill Nighy too.

Good morning. Sunny and rainy all at the same time here in Yorkshire. Thankfully we haven’t been affected by Storm Bert - thinking of all those who have been. Got up very late today. Sitting in bed with a cuppa and a little cat on my lap - all you busy folk put me to shame! Have as good a day as you can. Take care.

Jaxjacky Mon 25-Nov-24 08:53:14

Thank you Kalu

POSTS, not post's! That is one of my pet hates. wink

Scapa1 Mon 25-Nov-24 09:27:01

I haven't read all of your posts yet but will return later. Grandmabatty please be sensible and tell your daughter how you feel I know you don't want to let anyone down but you are important too. Hope Babydoll recovers soon Marydoll for all your sakes. I have being doing nothing as although this is week3 I still am not completely over this virus. It has been a nasty one but I have been sensible although not much choice really! Another miserable looking day here in Dunblane.

Ladyleftfieldlover Mon 25-Nov-24 09:28:52

Morning all from a beautiful blue-sky West Oxfordshire.

However… the road to my nearby town is closed due to flooding! I can still get to the nearby smaller town.

I have steamed the Christmas pudding so this morning I’ll wrap it in fresh papers and a cloth.

I may visit my friend who recently had a hip replacement. Otherwise, the cleaner is coming and I must start thinking about writing Christmas cards.

Have a good day.

Good morning everyone from Severnside. It’s sunny which will help the people who have clear up operations to do. Many homes flooded in a street I used to live in.

Wishing a Happy Birthday to the Ginster men 🎂🎉

Have the best day you can all.

Morning all, lots to do this morning so a later post.
I sent a pm to Taichinan yesterday and thankfully nothing too serious is preventing her posting.
Having said that she has been really laid low with a dreadful and long lasting cold and as well as feeling totally exhausted, says she has had nothing of interest to post😊
Hopefully she’ll be back soon.

Take care Grandmabatty andGeorgesgran

Off to chair yoga now and a lovely lunch with some former colleagues, so fortunate to still be doing this 20 years after retirement

Good wishes for the day everyone, baubles I laughed out loud, I can just see that toddler!

A very late ‘Good morning everyone’ from sunny south Manchester. We didn’t wake up until 9am! Eleven hours of sleep. We’ve obviously gone into hibernation mode.

We have no plans. Just a day of pottering. Himself will nip into the larder later when we decide what to eat for us tea. I fancy anything as long as it’s with sprouts.

They’re not just for Christmas you know …. 🤣

monk08 Mon 25-Nov-24 10:29:53

Thanks for update on Taichinan Stillearning hope she feels better soon.

Sprouts are the spawn of the devil. But my sister loves them. Every Christmas I buy her a sprout based present. This year it’s a pair of oven gloves with a sprouts pattern. Last year it was a sprouts jigsaw.
