Good morning all from a wet Glasgow, where it 8°c.
I have had a night of the most disturbing and weird dreams and am all over the place.
Grandmabatty, your lovely DD would be horrified to hear that you are not seeking medical attention. Please phone the doctor. How will you be able to look after a toddler, when you are so unwell?💕
We had an unexpected little visitor yesterday and boy was she cross! The downside of coming off steroids compounded by a large molar coming in. (Her parents hadn't noticed it,)
She insisted a potato was an apple and had a full blown meltdown, when I replaced it with a real apple. She then put the potato in the bin in disgust. 😂
DS had taken her to see Dollie to give her her birthday gifts, she was difficult there too!
Poor wee lamb is usually so easy going.
DS asked why I was laughing, as he struggled to cope. I explained he had been exactly like that for years, due to the large amounts of steroids he had. It was pay back time. 😉
I asked him why he thought I love BabyD, so much, his response: She reminds you of me.? The resemblance is uncanny.
I spent his younger years going between doctors and hospitals, never getting more than a few hours sleep. I genuinely never thought he would grow up, let alone become this tall, strapping man.😍
I won't be doing much today, apart from buy a brush for the parish hall, go to Mass, put up some signs and then home. i hope! I am pretty whacked.
Best wishes to all, who are struggling. Have a good day folks and stay safe, our Welsh friends.

Good Morning Monday 25th November 2024
(62 Posts)Good Morning Everyone,

Today , usual routine of bus to Bicester , shop etc , return have lunch and relax in afternoon.
Health wise still OK.
Take Care,
Mick
Glad to hear Gb.
Good morning from windy County Durham.
Dance fit class this morning and school pick up later. Other than that a quiet day.
Grandmabatty I echo what others have said, you'll make yourself far worse if you don't get your health sorted first, otherwise you may find there will be many more days when you'll be totally unable to offer help to DD. Hopefully you will get a doctor's appointment soon.
Try to have best day you can all, especially those with worries and illness.
Happy Birthdays to your husband and son 🎂🥳 Gingster
Thank you everyone. I let dd know and contingencies are in place. I managed to get an appointment for this afternoon.
Good morning Mick and all from a damp northwest coast.
Enjoyed the village Christmas Fayre (spelt that way..) yesterday with lots of resistible stalls, although I gave in and bought two cyclamen to kill.
Off soon for my six week check up after my surgery 20 miles away, followed by a little food shopping. DD arrives from the south tonight and I have cooked a pork casserole.
Birthday greetings to the Gingsters, thoughts to Grammaretto and all.
This morning is calm and golden and it is impossible to believe how wild the last couple of days have been, which will be no comfort to those poor people flooded out of their homes. Extreme weather is certainly more frequent and terrifying in its effects.
Coffee with friends this morning which will mean much chat and laughter so had better go and get organised. Have a good day, everyone.

Good morning all. Heavy rain and howling winds are the unpleasant start to the day in Glasgow. I find such high winds disturbing, always have done since childhood. GD2 is also affected by them as she told me as a toddler, I don’t like the blow granny, with her head in her hands.
Grandmabatty I too am worried about your symptoms. If a GP appointment isn’t available, in your shoes, I would head for A&E. Your own health should come first although I understand your not wanting to let your DD down.
Grammaretto GD2 has chosen TKAMB for her English prelims this week. One of my favourite books/films.
Good luck to your DD in her new job Jaxjacky.
Take care all going out in these horrible weather conditions.
Good morning everyone from Essex. It’s bright out, and calm, I think a better day is forecast. There aren’t many leaves left on the trees in the park at the end of the garden now.
DD is in the office today, so Son in law is in charge of school runs etc before settling down to working from home.
I need to sort out the post that DD2 brought over from home yesterday, then later this week I’ll get down to writing Christmas cards. I’m finding it hard to get into Christmas mode this year because I’m not at home and am still not very mobile.
I’ll read all your posts later - my coffee time treat!
Have the best day possible everyone, thoughts are with those who are struggling in any way.
Good morning from a much calmer N.Bucks. A light wind and not raining.
I’m out for lunch with 3 friends, we meet up about once a month. We met nearly 50 years ago when we all moved into new houses and had our children some of f whom are still good friends now..
I’ll fill up the rest of the day with various jobs and some crafting.
Kind thoughts to al especially those of you who are poorly.
Happy birthday to your DH and DS Ginster 🎂
Good morning all from the Black country dry at the moment.
NannyJan DHs gout reappears even though he tries to avoid certain foods and keeps taking the tablets.
Grandmabatty look after yourself I hope you can get appointment with doctor.
Need to get a card for friends birthday and some fresh flowers for the dining room.
Still no Taichinan hope things are ok.
Take care all☀️
Good morning from Cambridgeshire. An early morning for us as British Gas is coming between 8 & 1 today! Of course the heating is working perfectly this morning though so I suppose we won’t get any help to sort our regularly recurring problem!! Seems to stop working with very cold temperatures…
Today I will catch up with housework and washing and then take littlest Dgd2 to her dance class after school pick up.
Grandmabatty do let your daughter know and hope you get an appointment today.
Georgesgran 💐 and sending best wishes to all those struggling.
Good morning everyone from a very windy Inverness
grandmabatty please look after yourself and insist on a doctors appointment today, hope you’re feeling much better soon
I’ve a volunteering session this morning then I’m going round to DD2s to help with some tidying up after their busy weekend
A very Happy Birthday to your DH and DS Gingster enjoy the cake later 🎂
Georgesgran 💐
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings 💐
Good morning from a damp W Kent. Cleaner first thing so I need to tidy up
Later I need to sort out the Christmas present box and make a list of what is needed
I hope you can speak to a Dr soon Grandmabatty
Best wishes
Morning from a calmer S Hants, although we’ve had wind and rain over the weekend it’s been nothing compared to others.
Grandmabatty I’ll add my voice, in that much pain you need immediate help, that’s your priority, so you’re fit for your boys in the days ahead.
Ashcombe that set sounds delightful, I wish we lived nearer to you.
A quiet day yesterday, we watched football and went out for the meat draw. I’ll be thinking of my daughter today, she starts her new job in a specialist SEN school. I’m on the voluntary phone, MrJ is trying out a new bowls club.

Good morning all and the wind has gone. Thank goodness.
I nearly got blown over yesterday, walking the dog. Debris flying everywhere too.
Today is Dh and DS1’s birthday. We had a lovely lunch with the family yesterday and Dd and little DGD will come in today after school with cake and gifts.
I have Chimes this morning and need to attend as we have rehearsals for the concert, but will miss Music and memories this afternoon to be with the birthday boy. It’s a shame as it will be the Christmas session which is great fun. Oh well!
Grandmabatty look after yourself. I know the feeling of not letting DD’s down, but think of yourself, for once, if you’re poorly. 🙏.
Take care all 🍁
Morning all, no gym for me today, The Imp and 9yr olds school is closed for teacher training so they will be here.
The Imp has a birthday party to go to late afternoon at a very big soft play centre, his brothers has also been invited, so that’s my day sorted!
Grandmabatty if I was your daughter I would be mortified if I knew you were poorly, please take care of yourself 😘
Good morning from Durham. It’s barely light outside and very windy.
I’ve my usual coffee with a friend this morning and some items to pick up from Argos.
Babysitting DGS2 tonight - DD2 is away and SInL wants to watch a Home Game. Little Dog is a problem as it’s a long time to leave him - I might have to take him with me.
Lots of unsettling thoughts going round in my head - things I can’t change, but find difficult to accept.
Best wishes to all. X
Good morning all from the Scottish Borders. Blowing a Hoolie outside.
I delivered my lovely helper to her new flat in Edinburgh yesterday. It was a mild sunny day, so different from Saturday.
I have art appreciation U3A outing to Edinburgh galleries today so I mustn't miss the early bus.
We watched ^to Kill a
Mockingbird^ at the community cinema last night. Still such a good film.
Surely you shouldn't look after the boys if you are in such pain Grandmabatty. I feel for you
though. Take care of yourself.
Your set sounds great Ash. Pictures please 😄
Hope everyone has some joy today.
Good morning from a very wet Black Country, where it rained most of the weekend. A very starry clear sky this morning!
Just having a coffee after chopping veg for my Chicken and veg soup. Carcass is simmering.
Walking group walk this morning, then Line dancing this afternoon. Monday is a busy day.
MrJ's gout seems to have re-appeared. He has followed advice regarding what not to eat or drink. So not sure what the answer is now.
It is sad gM how some people stay in their little cliques and not include those on their own. Not sure what the answer is.
Grandmabatty sometimes we need to put ourselves first? I hope you manage to see a Doctor, that sounds really worrying.
Wishing you all the best day possible.
Good morning everyone from a still dark but thankfully dry Northampton. Sunshine forecast later. Torrential rain here yesterday and some of the main routes out of town are flooded, and the railway station is closed - which will affect DS if he's on shift, as he works in London.
I spent yesterday afternoon writing Christmas cards, all done now, and I know.how many stamps I need. Two cards still need addresses - two families I know have moved house this year, and I don't have their new addresses.
Up early as it's yoga this morning and I have to get an early bus as my friend is away. Coffee afterwards at the little cafe. Then I need to transfer stuff from the kitchen fridge to the garage one, to await arrival of the new one tomorrow.
Wishing all a good day.
Good morning, Michael and all GNs. Still dark but calm and clear in South Yorkshire. Much cooler than yesterday though. A lovely afternoon with DD and the menfolk yesterday when they came to lunch. Everyone in good spirits. I hope to get the laundry mountain down today as we have a couple of dry days coming up this week. Nothing much planned for today except to make some chicken broth and clean my oven😩.
Have the best day you can folks.
Good morning from Shropshire where the rain has stopped and sun is forecast.
Yesterday didn’t go to plan as the Christmas market was cancelled and DGS1 was unwell so we spent a quiet morning and set off to DD1’s after lunch. We couldn’t reach their house due to floodwater so SIL’s niece brought DGD up to the village in the tractor to meet us and we brought her home with us.H is sick so won’t be going to school today so he stayed with his other grandparents. We will take over after my hospital appointment this morning.
This morning we will take DGD to school then straight to the hospital then look after H.School pick up then wait for DD and SIL to get home.
Grandmabatty I hope you get a drs appointment. If not phone 111.I feeel concerned about you too.
Ash sounds like a brilliant set and production.
Have the best day you can everyone🦩
