Thank you BlueBell I live near the river Taff so South Wales
badly affected

Living on the East coast I am very aware of the detestation flooding can cause and some of the places effected today in Wales are only just getting over the last one aren’t they
It’s so scary

Nice of you to think of them, Bluebelle. I hope everyone is OK.

Over 70 years ago we lived opposite the River Conway and our cellars were often flooded.

The River Taff has burst it's banks, and trains from South Wales to London are not running .
Returning home from visiting the Welsh branch of the family is going to be quite an adventure...

The weather was dreadful in the Brecon Beacons, we have got a lot of landslides and blocked roads round me, but despite a red warning of flooding in my nearest town it didn’t happen, thankfully. The Usk has flooded very badly further down river though, all the main roads around Abergavenny were closed yesterday.

Understand Karmalady but maybe their relations, like you,
can tell us
I didn’t want them forgotten

BlueBelle, the affected people are not going to be on GN for a while. Next village downhill from dd was evacuated, it is low-lying. Dd has been sent a message that the enormous work site is closed due to surrounding floods and I doubt that dgd will get to school today. There will be lots of field run-off for a few days before the rivers quieten down

Yes good post. How is everybody coping with the terrible flooding and high winds?
We had winds with gusts of 60mph until late last night in the south east. Lots of stuff blown around in the garden but thankfully no visible damage. 😞

Just that really is anyone affected by ‘Bert ‘ ok ? so many sad stories particularly coming out of Wales although other areas have been affected too
