Good morning all from the Black country, weather a bit calmer although with the wind yesterday bedding dried a treat.
Learnt yesterday one of DHs fishing members wife had died she was a lovely lady who had suffered ill health for a very long time.
A few things to post and a small shop in Iceland.

Good Morning Tuesday 26th November 2024
(54 Posts)Good Morning Everyone,
A dark but dry start here in brackley this morning.
Today , I am hoping that bus services run to schedule as delays due to local flooding caused a few minor problems yesterday .
Health wise OK .
Take Care,
Mick
Good morning all from a very cold east of Fife I’m getting the plumber today to look at my loo I think it may be blocked yuck. I’ll be having poached egg on toast with fresh orange juice for breakfast.
Be well warned these scammers are trying to get your money. Don’t reply to any friends emails asking if you’re on Amazon then asking you to buy something on their behalf - honestly 🤬🤬
Good morning all and it’s bright and calm here in Essex.
Our rehearsal for Chimes went well yesterday. Still one lady a beat behind but hey ho! 🙄🤨.
Today, I’ll shop this morning and go to Bridge club this afternoon. It’s always busy coming home on the roads. Not far, but rush hour, I hate it especially in the dark with bright lights coming at you! Mind you it’s always like rush hour around here now.
Enjoy your lunch GG. And Kitty.
I loved Bob Dylan Liberty . I’ve still got a few of his LP’s.
What a shame your visitors had to cry off karma and all your hard work with the shed! I’m sure you’ll ‘make good’ in no time.
Keep well and safe 🍁
Good morning all from County Durham.
All good here apart from DD 4 hour wait at A and E yesterday with GD2 who decided to push a stone in her ear at school! After yesterday's experience I think a lesson has been learned.
An expected delivery will stop us straying far from home, then school pickup for the three youngest GC.
Hopefully a quiet uneventful day.
Morning all from West Oxfordshire.
I will be watching two Art History lectures this morning from the V&A. The first one is about surrealism.
After lunch I will post Christmas presents to Australia and make lists of presents for those closer to home!
Have a good day.
Good morning from a much brighter Black Country, with a lovely blue sky.
Last Monday of Line Dancing until the New Year as our instructor is off to the Caribbean! There will be a Christmas party on Friday 20th where we all bring a plate of food.
This morning I am walking to the park and meeting a friend in the cafe there. Not met up for a while as every time we tried to make a date, something cropped up for one of us.
Then this afternoon, over to Mums as a Audiologist is coming to her house to do a hearing test, as her hearing is definitely worsening.
Wishing you all the best day possible
Good morning from a bright and chilly Suffolk where the temp feels at least 8 degrees lower than a few days ago.
I’m meeting a friend for coffee and then DH and are are plannning to go to an afternoon showing of the new film about Bob Dylan…..A girl from the north country. Trying to relive our youths perhaps.
I hope that those still suffering the effects of the recent storm find today a calmer day and any damage can soon be rectified.
Good morning from Cambridgeshire where is is chilly but dry.
Today I am out for my first Christmas lunch at the local Garden Centre with friends, it is an early one as the only date we could all do and the Garden Centre is booked solid throughout December already!!
I will then pick up the little ones from school. They are both still struggling with their winter sniffles but will they put their coats on, no such a battle when they come out of school!!
Wishing everyone a good day, take care 💐
Good morning everyone. Sunny and dry here in Yorkshire so looking forward a trip to local RHS garden and town later. Have as lovely a day as you can. Take care.
Good morning everyone from a still dark but thankfully dry Northampton. Many people evacuated from their homes here due to flooding, and no trains running for the second day.
Had a good yoga class yesterday,.but only 5 of us there, which made it quite intimate. Had coffee afterwards with one of the other ladies, who kindly gave me a lift home.
Rang the delivery people re the arrival of my new fridge today, and also the plumber about my shower - sounds as though it needs replacing, so hoping he will come out; had to send him a photograph of it.
A quiet afternoon ensued, read the papers and got stuck into my book.
Just had an email from delivery company - new fridge expected between 9-11am. I have switched it off, and removed shelves and drawers. They will disconnect, remove it, and install the new one.
My gardener is also expected today, and hopefully the garden will look tidier afterwards.
Have a pleasant day everyone.
Hi Blossoming good to see you 👋👋
Enjoy your lunches kitty and GG13
Good morning everyone from Inverness, it’s still dark but looks dry
So good to see you posting Blossoming I hope you’re doing ok, hi to Taichinan too
A quick trip to the post office this morning and then home for an online volunteering session this afternoon. If it’s dry I want to get out in the garden, I’m hoping to get my outdoor Christmas corner ready in a sheltered spot on the decking
Safe travels mizuna and everyone on the move today
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings 💐
Good morning all from a chilly North Leicestershire.
This morning we have the roofers coming to look at the storm damage and I have to take DS1 for a botox injection. Then lunch with 3 other gners!
Have the best day possible all.
Morning everyone
Today I am going to the local Hospice Christmas charity luncheon with nine girlfriends, it’s held at the Holiday Inn at our local airport.
It is the start of the Christmas season for us, a chance to dress up and have fun whilst raising money for a needy local charity.
Wishing you an easy day 🙋♀️
Good morning everybody. It’s still dark here in Lancashire and feeling very chilly. The boiler has just fired up so it will soon be warm. Wishing you all a good day.
Good morning, Michael and all GNs from a chilly South Yorkshire where dawn is just breaking. I had a fairly busy day yesterday; got two lots of laundry on the line, gave my oven a good clean😝, made a pan of chicken and vegetable soup and changed my bed. I went out for a quick walk before it got dark. School volunteering this afternoon. Walking there and back will be my daily exercise.
Great photos Ash. That looks like a fun production.
Have the best day you can folks.
Good morning from a quiet and dry Torbay.
It sounds like some of you good folk are suffering the after effects of the weekend as are other parts of Devon. I hope calmer weather gives everyone some relief. How annoying for you to have your work at the allotment undone, karmalady, along with the disappointment of your visitors' change of plans.
Here are some photos from last night's rehearsal. Now we have five stage crew folk to help manoeuvre things in the limited wing space, it is becoming easier. Toad also has a car but I haven’t been able to capture that due to being backstage when it's on.
I hope 💐Grandmabatty and others who are unwell soon feel better and a good day is wished to you all. 🦩💐🥰💐🦩
Good morning all. I have no idea what the weather is doing here in Glasgow yet but the wind seems to have died down.
I still have bulbs to pot up so hoping for a calmer, drier day. Possibly a food shop today for a few bits and pieces, nothing like the large weekly shop now. Similarly, the washing machine and dishwasher need used only once a week. DDs are telling me I should use both at least twice a week as the pipes dry out otherwise. 🤷♀️
A lovely nearby neighbour arrived at my door last night with a poinsettia and a sympathy card. I was very touched at her doing so. She was widowed six months ago and we both understand each others situation.
If you are reading this Taichinan I hope you feel better soon.
You are in my thoughts Beechnut and Georgesgran 💐
Safe journey to all who are travelling and best wishes to all for a good day.
Good morning from Malta where we have another sunny day forecast.
Yesterday I met a friend for coffee and a walk. We plan to meet again today as she wants to go clothes shopping.
That will be enough excitement for one day!
Wishing you all a good day.☀️
Good morning from calmer s somerset, sun is expected today
Yesterday was eventful. Ds could not travel from Scotland, that was cancelled and so consequently were the other visitors. I completely agreed with that decision, it was far too hazardous and I no longer worried about their journeys. I am undoing preps very slowly, a bit at a time
I went to the allotment and my 6 x 4 shed was lying on the soil, a nice (strong) man and myself uprighted it and I spent the day re-doing the roofing felt, using screws and washers all around and making and fixing braces as the shed was jiggly. Other repairs and preventions need to be made but I did belatedly, put heavy paving slabs inside. More belt and braces stuff needs to be done today and over the next couple of days.
Allotment today, I have work to do
Have a good day
Morning, I think it’s dry, chillier.
Good to know taichinan is generally ok and I wish her a swift recovery of energy and good health.
Yesterday the voluntary phone was oddly quiet until a last half hour flurry, least said about quiz last night the better, the music round scuppered us.
Today I’ve some admin, domestic tidying and picking up Imogen from the leisure centre adter netball. The roads here are chaos, not from flooding but two closures at the same time, non emergency and no common sense.

*grandmattie*, reading about your days I can hear my Mum saying to me ‘one day you’ll meet yourself coming back’. Goodness you’re a busy woman. Take care in your rushing about. .
ATM, corner, I feel like that too! It seems to be a perfect storm of everything happening at the same time. Last week was the same, ditto next week. I shall be glad of a “piece of quiet” when it comes.

Good morning from a dry, calm Liverpool city centre where my bag is packed for my long journey back to Cornwall. I suspect the trains will be packed but I should be able to get home today. I'll miss the city but I am looking forward to my patio and the beaches. Went shopping with my daughter yesterday, a precious time. Hello, Taichinan, if you're reading this. 👋
Morning Mick, morning All from a dark, dry chilly corner of Somerset.
Unfortunately my friend had worrying news about her Mum yesterday and needed to stay home by the phone. We’ll rearrange when her life settles again. The morning was spent between the garage trying to book our car for a service, it had disappeared from their system and had to be reinstated, taking bags to the tip and another to a charity shop. Pleased to get it all done. A coffee in between stops too.
We’ve family in South Gloucestershire roses with flooding uncomfortably close to their home. Pleased you’re safe if broadband-less. Hope there’s a solution to your O2 levels.
I’m looking forward to today. We’re meeting friends for a pre Christmas get together. Coffee, a wander, lunch, gift exchange and much putting the world to rights
Enjoy what you can of the day everyone.
