Send her round to me when you’ve finished with her, Laura!!
Which British song sums up the 1960s for you?
Why do restaurants and takeaways close so early now?
Good Morning Everyone,
A dark but dry /cold start here in brackley .
Hopefully today I will get the bus to Bicester .
Health wise a bad weekend with toilet trips and weight loss , I skipped taking the Laperamide capsules for a couple of days prior thinking It would be OK but no .
I made need extra care?

Send her round to me when you’ve finished with her, Laura!!
Very late but cheery good morning to Mick and all from lovely green Cheshire albeit drizzly and breezy this morning.
I am currently in a state of shock having shopped, wrapped and thoroughly organised myself, even written all cards ready to post. Crikey who is this woman that has infiltrated my body!
Sending happy and caring vibes to all with worries and troubles.
And finally Mick, get in touch with your health care team PLEASE 🙏
🦩🦩🦩🦩
Stop press!
The greengrocer has trays of blueberries for very little. Guess what I’m doing this afternoon?? 🤣🤣🤣
Good morning Mick and all from a damp northwest coast.
Very enjoyable meal in the city last night with old friend. Tried a Greek restaurant I have walked past without noticing for years and the food was delicious. Also some live Greek music, quiet and not intrusive. Will certainly return.
Off soon for RSV jab, I seem to be having so many jabs this year, then will carry on making my Christmas cards. I’m really enjoying it now I have my liquid glitter!
I was disappointed to find the lights are not working for my tree, so will remedy that. Turned the lights on around my wooden archway in the front garden yesterday, they look nice.
My DD gave me an advent calendar with makeup for every day, so today, a nice eyeshadow.
Thoughts to all as always🌺
Good morning all. It's quite breezy, with mizzle carried on the wind on the Angus coast, but there's also blue sky and peachy white clouds. 🤷
Lots to do today, but no real inclination to do it. However the tai chi money needs to go to the bank - for the last time. Our last Bank is closing so from now on we will have to join the already long, slow-moving queues in the Post Office. I say that quietly though in case 'Somebody' hears and realises 'they' can take that away too! What are we coming to?
Anyway, sorry about that - I'm having a bit of a winter's day. I'm late up and haven't read any posts yet, but I do hope all the poorlies are feeling much better and the sad find something to lighten their darkness x
Good morning everyone from south Manchester where it’s raining heavily. No matter, no plans and we are still enjoying TIB at present. I’ve not been up long so I’ll settle back on these pillows and read all 38 posts now. 😁
Trip to dentist and ferocious hygienist this morning - no wonder I feel reluctant to get up - and flower club this evening; at present the sun is lovely but I expect the promised rain will arrive soon. Wish I could bottle Karma’s energy and efficiency because I could use some of it. Meanwhile card writing will loom large this week though, like so many of us, my list gets shorter each year. Hope all those feeling less well have a better day.
A late good morning from Suffolk where the sun is shining and it is still mild.
I’m sorry to read of several struggling with ill health and I hope that today brings some relief. I seem to have a cough which I never have. It’s worse at night and I would have moved into one of the spare bedrooms last night to save disturbing DH but all the beds are covered with ‘stuff’.
Today will be home based and I will probably shame myself into tackling a pile of ironing. The rest of the week looks busy so I shall enjoy the mildness of the day and quietness of where we live.
Good morning from rainy Lancashire. Wishing you all a good day 🌹
Good morning from a wet and windy NE.
Woken by clattering and shouting outside my house, appears workmen are going to replace gas pipes in the street. Oh great I can see the dirt getting trampled into the house because they say they need access.
Not sure when I will be seeing family this month apart from the school concert on Wednesday. GD1 will be getting collected from University and GD2 has lots of activities planned starting with Wicked this weekend.
My tree and decorations are in the attic so I will be unable to put them up.
Have a good day.
Good morning Mick and everyone from dark, rainy Carlisle.
I'm sorry to hear about your weekend Mick. Have your cancer team actually told you diarrhoea may be a long term result of your surgery? I think you need a talk with them to clarify things.
Yesterday it stopped raining by mid-morning so I went for a walk in the park. One of the adult swans, the cob I think, seems to have disappeared, the other remains, hanging out with the cygnets.
I cut the walk short as I started feeling dizzy, fighting off a bug I think so I used that as an excuse to sit about reading most of the day! OK at the moment apart from the injured shoulder which is slowly mending. I did find time to check out some trousers I hadn't worn for a time. There was no way they were ever to zip up! Sadly, they are now in the charity shop bag. I ought to move house again, that gets the weight off....
Today sees me back at the usual round of routine housework for the week and probably finishing my book in the afternoon.
I hope you are shortly on the mend Bellasnana, and, indeed, anyone suffering, there seems to be a lot of bugs about at the moment.
Good morning from County Durham.
An early visit from the SKY engineer to sort out our fluctuating broadband speed. Needless to say the line and router performed brilliantly for him so we shall wait and see. It's raining now, that always affects the line!
GS4 performed beautifully in Mary Poppins yesterday, the family turned out in force to support. We treated ourselves to an evening meal out afterwards.
Boxes of decorations are presently cluttering the hallway. I'm thinking about less v more this year.
Dance exercise class today but before that I'm hoping to cancel an order I made yesterday for the wrong Christmas gift.
It was rather expensive so fingers crossed.
Your body is telling you to restBellasnana so make sure you do.
You continue to impress me karma. What a hardworker you are.
Have the best day you can all.
Good morning from Shropshire where rain is forecast all day.
Yesterday was a lazy day at home mainly spent reading and eating!Today the podiatrist is coming then I have a long list of admin to do.I have written a list and am determined to finish it all.
Tomorrow we have to be up at 4.45 to drive to Stafford to have breakfast with DGS1 and Santa at B’s school.Once he goes off to class we have to drive to North Wales to see H in his nativity play.We used to drive over to Staffordshire once a week until last July getting up at 4.45 each time.Heaven knows how we kept going😴😴😴
Bellasnanna I’m sorry you are so unwell.Hopefully a day resting in bed will help💐Marydoll a day of rest will do you good too💐
Have the best day you can everyone🦩
Good morning from soggy South Lanarkshire.
Mick I don’t understand why you’re ignoring your symptoms. Be sensible and seek medical help.
Poor Bellasnana, I hope you feel better after another day in bed.
I’ve looked out decorations for Christmas but I think this year will be a very much pared down version of my usual decking of the halls.
I too must get on with card writing stilllearning, enjoy your lunch out.
Shame about the tech rehearsal Ash.
Food shopping and dog walking will be the height of my excitement on this wet Monday.
Have the best day possible everyone.
Good morning all from a damp Black country.
Wrote some of my Christmas cards yesterday I'm not sending so many this year although I still need to buy a few special ones.
Might wrap a few presents today.
Friends coming later and we shall go to the club as he has his membership appointment.
Have a good day everyone whatever your plans ☀️.
Good morning all from a wet Glasgow, where it is 7°C.
Bella, I hope you rest. My GP always knew Dollie had croup and an asthma flare up, when I complained of similar.
The same happened to me last week with Babydolk, it is nigh on impossible to avoid their germs. Please rest.
Roses my heart go out to you. We have been in a similar position, it took ages for DS1 to come round. We never found out what we had done wrong. I was just glad to have him back.
Hopefully, your DD will be in contact soon.
Usually on a Monday, I go down to Mass and do bits and pieces, but I'm not feeling so good.
Yesterday was full on at church, we had a river of condensation pouring down the walls and stairs of the choir loft . The porch was dangerously slippy. We have many parishioners with mobility problems and I was so worried about them falling.
I missed both masses, I felt I was being cornered from all sides, with parishioners' complaints. To my shame, I was Mrs Grumpy, I think some were shocked. The complainers do nothing to help, but are so quick to make demands.
It was so busy, I was worried about my suppressed immunity, that I stayed out of the way.
My cough would gave annoyed everyone. I had to leave Mass on Saturday. I knew I was distracting those present.
I'm plan do do little, apart from wish DI, a happy birthday.
Take care all.
Good morning from a dry Cambridgeshire. Today we are going to pop to Newmarket for a wander and supplies from the pork shop!
I finished the Christmas cards yesterday and all ready to post now. I am getting my head around gifts and other preparations.
Little granddaughter goes off on her first residential with the school today to Norfolk. She is nervous/excited. I will miss taking her to dance class today.
Brook enjoy your wander in Cambridge which is my local shopping centre and a safe journey onwards.
Sending best wishes to all those poorly and struggling💐
Roses my eldest daughter can be prickly and distant at times for no apparent reason hope she will be in touch with you soon.
Good morning all and it’s bright and mild here in Essex.
We had a very joyful weekend at ds2’s house. Dd, little DGD and I.
The Panto ‘starring’ gd4 was excellent. Very professional and soo funny. We then walked to see their little towns light switch on where the girls had fun with rides and getting glitter strands put in their hair.
Yesterday we dog walked and finished off by watching Wicked at the cinema. I was a bit disappointed with it - very long and slow until the end.
We arrived home by 6 and I felt shattered . What a lovely time we had ❤️. Dh and ds1 along with gd3 had decorated our house and it looks so pretty. Lovely to come home to. Just a few tweaks needed from me today 😉 🎄.
Today I have our U3A concert.😢. Our rehearsal last week was dire. I pray today goes better , especially for our leader who puts so much work into our chiming group. 🔔🔔.
Bellasnanna get well soon 💐
Roses family dynamics can be complicated. I hope your Dd gets in touch soon 🙏.
Mick what more can we say ! 🤷🏻♀️.
Take care everyone . 🎄
Good morning all from Severnside. The dark clouds are moving eastwards and replaced by lighter grey ones.
I made several cards yesterday so I think I’ve got enough to start writing them out to send.
My plan this morning is to go to Cribbs. I don’t feel like it though but I think I’ll just plod on and get it done. I’ve some vouchers to spend and I want to go to Hobbycraft.
Have a good day and get well soon to the poorlies 💐
Good morning from a dark and damp Black Country.
Monday walking group this morning. No Line Dancing as the leader is in the Caribbean for 2 weeks.
Chicken and veg soup is now simmering, so lunch is sorted for the next 4 days!
I too noticed the £10 Christmas bonus has landed in my Bank Account. I will try not to splash out too much
Wishing you all the best day possible.
Good morning everyone from a still dark and damp Northampton.
Yesterday seemed such a long day, with getting up early to go to the Cacao ceremony.
It was, shall we say, an interesting morning. The leader (our yoga.teacher) told us about the history of the ceremony in Mexico, and why she likes it, and how she feels when she does it herself at home.
We.eventually got round to drinking the hot Cacao - we could add cocoa.sugar or maple syrup ( but I added both!). The taste was that of a very dark chocolate, but there was an oily texture to it, which I didn't like. During the drinking we were encouraged to think of intentions we'd like to set for the Christmas season. After that we had a half hour guided meditation. I have to add that meditation does nothing for me....
Not an experience I wish to repeat, but I gave it a chance.
When I got home DD-out-law came down and picked up her birthday present which to my great relief she was mightily pleased with - I'd got her a perfume gift set from Next, and a lovely candle from M&S.
Spent the rest of the day catching up with the weekend papers and wasting time on my tablet!
Ordered a present (Prosecco and chocolates) to be delivered to my youngest DSis and her husband, whose golden wedding is on Saturday; then decided to try a Waitrose delivery this week instead.of my usual Sainsbury's, and then ordered a new Art Deco calendar for next year. Also ordered a sparkly lipstick from Boots ( not available in any of the local stores).
Yoga this morning, then an early lunch, and into town for my annual visit to the optician. Hope to have time for a bit of shopping afterwards.
Leftover hotpot for dinner tonight.
Mick please listen to us and seek medical advice.
Hope all have a pleasant day.
Good morning from a bright W Kent. Our cleaner will come this morning and then we have a U3A group lunch to go to at a local pub with plenty of history attached. I imagine we will be snoozing afterwards.
Bellasnana I hope you can rest today and feel better soon
Roses I hope your DD is in touch soon
Best wishes
Morning from South Lanarkshire, I’ve been awake for ages, in fact I’ve now finished the tea I made earlier and may just manage another half hour or so.
I started the Christmas cards yesterday and am now filled with my annual wish that I had got my head round the whole thing weeks ago! A special mass for the sick today at 12 o’clock and then my first Christmas celebration, a lovely meal out with the yoga group, I’m looking forward to that.
Sorry you feel so rotten at the moment Roses, family discord is horrible💐 I hope things pick up.
Hope you feel better soon Bellasnana and that you seek some advice Mick, you must be feeling exhausted.
Wishing everyone a good day x
Good morning everyone. Dry and mild here in Yorkshire. Meeting a friend for lunch in Skipton today. Will look round the shops for presents. I haven’t bought a single thing yet and have nothing for DS and DH imminent birthdays either so need to get my skates on! Hugs to those who are poorly. Take care all.
Morning all from West Oxfordshire. It’s still dark but the sky has a rosy hue.
Our cleaner should come this morning. I’ll do our Waitrose shop and I’ll also pop into a Charity shop with a final bag of stuff.
At some point I’ll write the Christmas cards.
Have a good day especially those of you who are unwell or unhappy.
