What do you enjoy most from a night out? Is it a cosy meal out in your local Chinese restaurant with family, a candlelit romantic meal out with your DH/partner/toyboy, an evening at the theatre seeing a serious dramatic play, going to see a musical with a group of friends, a trip to the cinema/ ballet/ opera maybe?
My treat is an Italian restaurant local to me, with three friends, four ladies with plenty to say, lots of laughs, good food and wine.We love it.Life is busy for us all but we do this about four times a year.

For me it used to be dinner then a concert or theatre, but nowadays I much prefer to go out for lunch or afternoon tea. I have long lost any notion for evening ‘functions’, so I tend to avoid them.

I love being out with Himself, family or friends. Or all three together sometimes. People are so important to our well being. Company is to be treasured no matter the ‘where or when’.

Kate 1949 I went to an outdoor Bootleg Beatles concert one summer. I went with a group of friends, had a lovely picnic and sang and danced the night away it was such a fun evening. Have a fantastic time.
I meet up with friends most weeks either for a meal, theatre or some other event. I usually enjoy being out and about but always enjoy the following evening when I like to stay home with OH and the dog.

It’s not sad BlueBelle.

Nothing wrong with being at home.

‘Home is where the heart is’.

I feel safe, secure, relaxed at home.

I think I ve stopped going out at night without realising I d stopped!
I did go out once this September I went to see the Old Time Sailors live at my local theatre with a friend We had a brilliant night anyone seen them? I really do recommend them a night of great fun
But on the whole I don’t venture out the door after 6, how sad is that

I would struggle to choose.

I love going out with all the family (24 of us) to one of our favourite restaurants.

Dinner out with DH and/or friends.

I also love going to live gigs with DiL’s and friends.

West End theatre trips and dinner with DH

Spa trips with DD and DiL”s and my sister.

I am also just as content with a nice meal at home and a something good on TV

My ideal, which I can’t do any more, would be a night at the Royal Ballet in London. I used to go regularly, whether I lived in London or not. Preferably one of the big Tchaikovsky classics, Sleeping Beauty or Swan Lake, but not Nutcracker which I don’t like as much.

This too.

A musical. My DGodD has been in several West End shows, and her mum and I get to go back stage and meet people.
Closer to home here, a meal in a seafood restaurant.

My favourite would be a meal at a friend's house or having friends at our home for a meal.

All of the above, but during the day, I am not a night person

Calendargirl Tue 03-Dec-24 07:02:58

In answer to the OP, staying in.

Oopsadaisy1 Tue 03-Dec-24 06:55:34

A night out?

I think I might have been missing out on something here.

JamesandJon33 Tue 03-Dec-24 06:46:08

I love dancing, but DH doesn’t. So we haven’t done that for a long while. Don’t like parties either, or gatherings where you have to shout over the noise to be heard. So all in all I would say a quiet meal somewhere and then home.

A couple of drinks in a pub we know well and nip across the road for a Chinese banquet with my DH. It’s not something we do too often as we do go to other restaurants.

It’s actually my favourite night out gorgeous food nice wine and a lovely evening always totally enjoyable.

I think I'd really enjoy a pub choir night, actually. smile

A rare event but the best for me is an orchestral concert. On Sat went to a local choral concert which was gorgeous with professional soloists and a harpist and small orchestra, I came out buzzing.

I'm having one this week. A night out with my daughter. A couple of drinks then The Bootleg Beatles at the beautiful Birmingham Symphony Hall. My poor daughter. She indulges me with my obsession grin

Grandmadinosaur Mon 02-Dec-24 21:30:58

A night at the theatre or a dance show.

MissAdventure Mon 02-Dec-24 21:06:23

Yes, I was going to say a live, open air gig. Maybe a meal before, too.

Casdon Mon 02-Dec-24 21:02:34

A night to remember for me is a live gig on a warm summers evening. Preferably a band I love listening to, shared with friends or family who also love them.

lixy Mon 02-Dec-24 21:01:51

Live music, especially jazz, and not far from home - love the experience but no good at late nights any more.

Grunty Mon 02-Dec-24 20:55:22

Film at the cinema or NT play at the cinema, followed by a late supper with friends. I'm not fussed what we eat or where.

MissAdventure Mon 02-Dec-24 20:54:30

Coming home. smile
