Ello everyone,
I've just been reading about an American lass who started getting red eyes and rashes around her face. She is Erin Dunn, 24, from Atlanta, Georgia.
She went to get checked out thinking it was pink eye or contagious. The clinic said it wasn't either but gave her antibiotic drops. The drops didn't work.
Well, after trying for months to work out why she was having all the problems she suddenly wondered if it might be her earrings, even though there were no issues with her ears. So she removed the cheap earrings and within a few hours the rashes and redness around her eyes started disappearing!
Something was said about cheap jewellery and metals being quite bad for some people, I know that all too well, but they said sometimes your skin can peel because of it.
I've suddenly realised, after having a bit of trouble a couple of weeks ago with my hand swelling quite suddenly overnight and I removed a ring I'd been wearing for at least a couple of years that was made from an Ana coin, that little bits of peeling that had been appearing on my hands for quite awhile have now stopped and gone away!!!
I'm allergic to silver but can wear steel jewellery. In the article they mentioned, if you're allergic to nickel or cheap silvers to try steel, sterling silver, titanium or 18-karat yellow gold instead!!
I'm allergic to silver and nickel. Luckily, I'm not a big jewellery wearer.

Nickel is a known allergen and it's in quite a bit of jewellery and also in some bra straps! The metal rings - although I think less so these days.

Allergies change and develop as you get older. I had to stop wearing contact lens after decades of wearing them without problem because I became allergic to the preservatives used in all the standard contact lens fluids.
