Seems that Wales and Somerset (Bristol) are the areas that are forecast to cop it worst with a ‘red’ weather warning. Greater Manchester remains on amber - and Yorkshire, so 🤞crossed.

You’re right of course Maw.
We’ve just come home after lunching out. Cold but dry here at present not even a puff of wind (yet).

Our Yorkshire Lass & her husband will be driving over from Horsforth to Manchester airport at 5am. I wish they weren’t but there are no flights from Leeds Bradford airport to Copenhagen. I’m trying not to think about it….

They should be far enough to the north of it to be clear of the worst weather.
While not dismissing the red warning I do think it is easy to panic in advance (famous last words eh Michael Fish?)
I drove to London and back the w/e of Storm Bert (heart in my mouth) and it was all fine.

Despite this announcement the BBC weather app says Bath and NE Somerset is still under a yellow warning. Something doesn’t quite add up but I have done what I can to stop things in the garden taking off.

They've updated it now but it doesn't kick in till 3 a.m. on Saturday in this area. Hatches will be firmly battened tonight for sure in our part of the West Country (Frome).

they've had to cancel the Christmas Market in Brighton...

Apparently, North Devon is going to get a battering starting at 3 am Saturday morning Are you feeling?..

I feel sorry for the people who are having to cancel events. Not only are they losing money, often raised for charity, but the knock on affects for other businesses.
I hope those in the path of the storm keep safe.

Wait and watch -it may not happen! In the meantime prepare as best you can.

The flight could be delayed, presumably they'll check
It's very worrying. We have to travel too.

extremely dangerous weather. List copied from GBnews website

In Wales, the warning covers Bridgend, Cardiff, Carmarthenshire, Ceredigion, Conwy, Gwynedd, Isle of Anglesey, Monmouthshire, Neath Port Talbot, Newport, Pembrokeshire, Swansea, and Vale of Glamorgan.

Whilst in England, Bath and North East Somerset, Bristol, Devon, North Somerset, Somerset, and South Gloucestershire have been placed under the red alert.

I watch weather modelling and all the ducks are in a row for a horrendous weather episode. I have been battening down and making ballast all week. I am in amber not red and have moved all potential flying objects out of my garden

Please don`t drive
