I am up very late this morning. I fell asleep in the chair last night and dreamt I was telling DH the good news that Himself and FGT had yesterday.

Mild and peaceful here in Cornwall today such a lovely sentence to read Mizuna. Simple but I found it strangely comforting to read.

Mick! Why on earth do you eat trash food from supermarkets whenn you know it’s going to give aggravation ?stick to bland menu until your guts settle down! Surely your doctor can provide you with a list of do/do not eat foods? It’s very hard I know! But obviously Chinese and fish and chips do not agree with you. Obviously I do not know the extent of your problems but it seems that a lot of the troubles you have could be avoided.
So many gransetters are giving you this advice! Just give it a try!

Good morning from cold and bright South Lanarkshire.

Yesterday I had my regular telephone appointment with my haematologist who was happy with the results of the recent blood tests. He’ll call again in three months.

Afterwards DH and I took the daft dug to the park so she could have a good run. I wrote most of my cards when we got home. The painful bit be at the Post Office, sending abroad is so expensive now.

A cousin has sent me a wreath all the way from California! So kind of her even if it is a bit bonkers, the profits go to a very good cause. It was made here.

Supermarket trip this morning after bed changing and resultant laundry. WI Christmas meeting this evening so must take something for supper and a food bank donation which we are doing instead of a Secret Santa, which I think is an excellent idea. Looks as if it won’t get light at all today, but at least we are not far from the shortest day after which things will gradually improve.

Burglar alarm maintenance arrived mid afternoon, it is usually one chap, yesterday it was three. One was an apprentice, his mentor and an examiner to check them both 🤨
It was a thorough job and they even sent the apprentice up the ladder to clean the CCTV camera lenses. I was pleased about that because the cobwebs look spooky at night.
Might make some soup today, I always seem to have loads of carrots so carrot and coriander it is .
Strange dream grandMattie, our first car was a Ford Anglia. I woke myself up with a piercing scream, I dreamt I was running down an alley and collided with someone.
Lorries and digger in the street again, they appear to be having a lot of problems with one property.
I thought they were just replacing the gas pipes because they are 50+ years old, not so apparently it is because they intend to add hydrogen to the natural gas. My plumber says more prone to leaks if they do go ahead.
Sorry to hear so many have problems, get well soon.

Cossy yes it is Colchester Zoo, we visit often with various GC in tow.

I have him here now, feeling very sorry for himself, hopefully he will be able to go tomorrow, the school has said he can as long as he hasn’t a temperature.

As you know it’s very hilly and not for a little one who is under the weather.

Good morning everyone from south Manchester where it’s dry and mild enough. Yesterday went so well at Christie’s I was so happy on our way home. Great news for now at least. A reprieve of sorts. No more treatment needed yet and review with a scan in two months. “Enjoy Christmas!” said Professor Mansoor. We continue to count our blessings.

I’m meeting a friend I used to work with for coffee. We are the same age. She’s had a cough for 10 weeks now and saw her GP again yesterday. He gave her a 5th (!) course of antibiotics and has now referred her to a chest physician. I think she needs a hand hold. At least I feel strong enough for her to lean on today. It’s what friends do isn’t it?

Good morning all and it’s damp, dark and chilly here in Essex

We had a lovely Chiming session at our leaders home yesterday with some delicious food . She’s such a lovely lady and works hard for us. Patience personified!

We heard last evening that gd2 has been successful in securing a training job with a nearby children’s nursery. The many interviews , visits , and thorough checks has taken 6 weeks to complete. The last requirement was taking an English and Maths exam. She already has good GCSE and A level results.
This must be some specialised nursery. !

Today I’ll pop into see my friend who had cataract op last week and has felt poorly ever since. I’ll take in rolls for a quick lunch and then I’m off to Bridge.

Ash has anyone mentioned surgery? If your hip had dislocated , shouldn’t it be put back in place or re-done? This happened to my mum. Perhaps I’ve got the wrong end of the stick. 🤔. Anyway I hope the pain eases . 🙏.

There are some very busy grans on here you make me feel very lazy.

Hairdressers today then we have a carvery booked yet again I shall be sad when they stop sending discount vouchers.

Good morning Mick and everyone from Carlisle where we have clear skies. cloud and frosted up cars.

Yesterday's check up at the hospital was so so...my iron levels are creeping up and the level to be tolerated is lower than I thought, blood-letting may have to resume. I'll know in a day or two after a syringe-full was taken for testing.

Today I'll finish off the laundry and do some vacuuming, after I've fired off an e-consult to the surgery, the pain and stiffness in my joints and muscles is getting worse and is now tending to hang around all day. It's rather odd that it's all come on so suddenly.

Ash, is an operation on the cards or will exercises and physio suffice? It all sounds like a miserable experience and I hope you're much better soon.

Morning everyone, it’s still dark here in S E Essex.

I have hand washing to do this morning, I put it off until DH has little choice of sweaters and my favourite ones are also in the washing basket.

The Imp is having a sleepover here tonight as he is off to the zoo with his class tomorrow at 8 am. (One of the joys of living next door but one to the local school) It’s a penguin and reindeer experience, he is very excited.

Good morning all from a chilly Glasgow, where it is -2° C.

I have to go and pick up my prescriptions, a twenty minute journey, then pop in to Asda nearby. They have introduced a one way system in the retail park, which everyone ignores. It should be fun.

I got a message yesterday, reminding me of my hospital telephone appointment. I was sure it was a face to face, my consultant promised..
My bloods need monitored, due to the toxic nature of my medication, it is well overdue, so I'm not sure how that will work, from the end of a telephone. They must be done in hospital, my GP can't do them.
Both hips are so painful, but nothing can be done, it's the RA doing its worst. It is something to do with the tendons inside my hips, no treatment. Physio makes it worse. A hip replacement won't help.
However, I was hoping for some kind of help or sympathy.
My feeling is that it is a waste of time and money, treating elderly patients like myself , who multiple comorbidities, I have been written off. I shall continue to prove them wrong.😉

Good morning from a dull but dry and not too cold N. Bucks.
A full day for me starting with a Christmas wreath workshop along with DD3. I need to go out to the shed to get gardening gloves and some secateurs.

Straight form there I’ll go to a local eatery for the WI Christmas lunch.

We will finish the decorations at home this evening and there are a couple of sewing projects to finish off..

My Brother is back in hospital . Hopefully they can help him gain some strength .

Late to the gathering this morning as I got distracted by knitting. Have made my arty daughter-in-law a tin of gingerbread men, as one does. 😄

Mild and peaceful here in Cornwall today. I must go to Asda and do some virtual shopping for my daughter. Her nearest Asda is in Bootle and also being blind she doesn't always get to know what's on the shelves, although the shop assistants are always helpful. Have shelved plans to go to the allotment, that will have to be later in the week now, as I usually go for the whole day and cook my lunch there. Ash, thinking of you. 💝

More dreams last night about a recently deceased friend. It’s obviously lying deep with me and comes out this way.😢

Off to music club today, will read a poem, not mine, but amusing. Can start singing again next month.

Good morning everyone from a dull and grey Northampton, damp outside, but supposed to stay dry today.

My gardener worked miracles on my garden yesterday, so when he left I gave him a nice Christmas tip!

A bitty afternoon, I did a bit of this and a bit of that, but mainly staying near the phone as I was expecting a call back from M&S, regarding the non-delivery of a present for my DSis's Golden Wedding on Saturday. Tracking says it was delivered, but obviously not to DSis...... no sign of it at their house. Shall have to ring M&S again this morning as the phone call did not materialise.

Walking with my group this afternoon, will do me good as I haven't been out with them for a couple of weeks. Need to call in the newsagents on the way home to pay my bill.

Morning all from West Oxfordshire.

Yesterday’s craft group was fun. We had lunch at a nearby huge pick your own/garden centre/farm shop. I was very restrained in the shop and just bought two jars of our favourite Tracklements aubergine pickle.

It is the final two lectures of my V&A Art History course. It has been very enjoyable.

I might visit a friend after lunch but I need to check.

I will get on with more Christmas preparations. The cards are in their envelopes but I haven’t finished the letters yet. I also have to finalise Saturday’s early Christmas feast for elder son and his family. My granddaughter loves my chocolate peppermint ice cream so I will make a batch of it.

Good morning all from an Angus coast where the temp has risen now to 1° and a sunny day is promised.
With 'expectations managed' I duly got my new hearing aids yesterday and I think they're going to be a great improvement. Tai Chi in a little while, so I'll get a better idea then 🤞
I thoroughly enjoyed my foray into the city and must really do it again soon and enjoy a wander round some big stores. It is literally years since I have done so - I have become a real country mouse!
I hope you find you can negotiate those five steps Ash and that the pain from yesterday's exertions is soon under control

Good morning from County Durham.
It's DH birthday today. We're celebrating later in the week with a mini break in Edinburgh to visit the Christmas Markets and go on a Ghost Tour, which we've always fancied doing.
This evening we've a meal with my DH's son up from London. He came for DD2's birthday too, so a double whammy. Always a treat to see him.
School pick up yesterday was a lively one including GD1 who bubbles with energy and sets the younger ones off in fits of giggles. Things eventually settled down once they'd all eaten and they played some games on YouTube.

Good morning from a dry but no doubt cold Suffolk. I’m off for a pedicure at lunchtime and whilst in the little town will buy the rest of the Christmas cards. I posted the majority yesterday.

DH is contacting Amazon again today regarding a parcel they say was ‘ handed to the resident’ on Saturday afternoon. Strangely the time they give is within 5 mins of the Waitrose order arriving. Wonder where it was delivered if indeed it was.

2°C here so I'm not leaping out of my cosy bed.
I did a massive clearance yesterday but still a drop in the ocean. I have to clear the sitting room in preparation for the new ceiling beginning next week.
I also wrote half my Christmas cards. Many fewer nowadays but I still like to keep the links going and remember old friends.
I'm getting my feet done this morning. That will be nice. Tonight it's end of term at the Gaelic class so we've each to do a party piece. 😨

Physio today and my GP has prescribed Amitriptyline which I will collect later today. Looking forward to a full night’s sleep tonight🤞

She looks so content Roses it would be cruel to disturb her. 😂
DD1’s yellow lab is recovering well from surgery after her op, torn ligament but is keeping DD busy with the list of aftercare required. It’s a full time job.
Good luck with the steps Ash You don’t sound glum just understandably fed up with your present situation which I hope shows signs of improvement soon.
Reading of your fun times with the boys reminds me of happy times spent with my 2 GDS at similar ages GrandmaBatty. My kitchen table used for hours of crafting still bears the scars of those treasured times which reminds me too, I should probably clear out their board games and drop them into the charity shop.
