Wait until I make the 6 dozen mince pies next week! 😂😂😂
Found out today, can't take it in
Well, that was a farce.........
Good Morning Everyone ,
A dark but dry start here in brackley this morning.
Today stay in expecting a meals delivery from Wiltshire Foods , so get on with some housework .
Health front , slowly regaining weight , its a case of avoiding junk food as to things .
Take Care,
Mick
Wait until I make the 6 dozen mince pies next week! 😂😂😂
Good morning all. -2deg. frosty, calm and dry with sunshine forecast for Glasgow today.
Physio yesterday when it was decided I need a course of ongoing physiotherapy. I asked for her thoughts on acupuncture and she recommended a local acupuncturist whom we both know has a good reputation so it’s on today’s to do list to make an appointment.
A trip to Waitrose yesterday where I bought the reduced price offer on six bottles of Whispering Angel which I enjoy a glass of in the evening, an early christmas present to myself. Next stop was Home Bargains where I snagged two reduced 6ft. potted, prelit, faux christmas trees to place at either side of the garage doors. Very pleased with the effect🎄🎄
Have the best day possible all.
Good morning from mid Essex, it’s getting light and I think it’s grey outside. I’m in the loft bedroom here, so have no idea what is going on downstairs. The morning “routine” changes every day, depending on who is working in the office and who is working from home! I just keep out of the way until someone brings me a cup of coffee, which is my signal to get up!
I do admire all the activities in your posts, gm I haven’t cooked that many biscuits & cakes in years! And karma your determination to get your allotment in shape is amazing. I’m hoping that I’ll be able to do more gardening in the spring, when my hips allow me to be more mobile.
Have the best day possible everyone. Thoughts are with those in pain, both physical and mental.
Good morning all. Dry and milder in Yorkshire today. The decluttering really overwhelmed me yesterday so I’m going on a trip to Harrogate to buy Christmas presents and more cards today for a break. Hugs to all those who are poorly or in pain. Take care all. Xx
Good morning from a still dark but dry Suffolk where the day has started earlier than usual for us. My car is booked into the garage before my keep fitclass as there is a problem which DH,unusually, has been unable to solve.
In spite of the motor working and the washer bottle being full and the jets having been poked clean,no water comes out! I was told the wheel and wheel arch will have to come off for a thorough investigation! Cars in my view are all very well until they go wrong.
DH will take me and collect me from my class and then a friend I am meeting for lunch will pick me up from home to go to our favourite pub in the nearest market town. The garage may have a courtesy car for me but depends if one is back in time so all these vpcarefully arranged plans may not be needed if I have one.
Hope those feeling unwell anxious have the best day possible.
Bellasnana I love your Christmas nails 🤶🏻
My DD1 in Cambridge has a little Christmas village that looks much the same as yours ginny, we always add something else to it each year when I visit as my youngest DGS loves it !
Good morning all from the Scottish Borders. It must be cold because the heating has come on. It's set to freeze control 🥶
I love the way the photo of Bella's festive nails appear beside Karma's muddy allotment. What a variety of activities on this lovely thread.
I pampered myself yesterday. I had my feet "done" in the morning, back and hips "done" in the afternoon.
Gaelic end of term "party" with a quiz hard and party pieces all around.
Gaelic Carol singing tonight.
My Helper cleared another room for me to sort. He's only here until Sunday so I'm making the most of
him!
I am glad you have a helpful GP Ash and hope you get better.
I have the last yarn group of the year this morning. I had better get up.
Have the best day you can everyone.
Lovely nails Bellas. My lady persuaded me to go for sparkly red - not me at all, but it is XMas.
My DD’s bought me a tyre pressure inflator gizmo grey so I can do it at home now, better for me than at a garage.
Good morning everyone from a very frosty and chilly Inverness
So pleased The Imp is well enough for the zoo, GG13, hope he has a lovely day
I’m busy today with a volunteering session this morning and then I’m meeting my pal for coffee this afternoon. We’ll stay chatting for at least a couple of hours so I’ll be out most of the day.
Love the nails Bellas very pretty
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings 💐
Not a good photo of the tree !
Good morning. It’s dry and still in N. Bucks at the moment.
DH is off to golf and I will potter with several little jobs.
Also have cakes to make. Some for the Christmas party at sewing group tomorrow and one for DD2 whose birthday is today. We are out to dinner with her and most of the family this evening.
I’ll try to get a walk in although I’d rather spend the time crafting.
Get well wishes to all the poorlies.
Photos of our tree and little Christmas village.
Good morning from a hillside in south Glos where it’s dry at the moment.
I’m in awe at the achievements of GM and Karma, I simply couldn’t do a quarter of what they achieve!
Sending hugs to those in pain and with tribulations 🤗🤗🙏
I struggled on yesterday’s dog walk, very puffed which is exasperating, let’s hope today’s is better.
I’m still crocheting my big granny square, it’s taking 80 minutes to do a round so I think I’m close to stopping as it getting a wee bit onerous! I will decide on a border today and finish it tomorrow.
Take care everyone 🌹
Morning Mick, morning All. Our corner of Somerset is dry and dark. Feels chilly.
Long day out yesterday. We left at 7.25 and stumbled back at 9pm. Worth it as we all enjoyed a very comfortable coach ride to Salisbury for a wander, a delicious lunch before a traditional Carol service in the Cathedral with plenty of time to enjoy the beautiful building. Quiet one ahead today, a Christmas lunch is booked, a final treat before our friends return home tomorrow. A very special week for us.
Mr C is chortling greyd. I’ve not put air in tyres or oil in the car for over 55 years. Fuel? Probably twice! I know how as I maintained my own vehicle before we married, just haven’t needed to do it since.
It sounds as if many are struggling. My good wishes to you all.
Have the best day you can everyone.
Good morning all from a chilly North Leicestershire.
Our gardener and cleaner are coming this morning but I am going to get my hair cut so DH is in charge.
We have a bit of shopping to do this afternoon.
Have the best day possible everyone.
grandMattie you (and karmalady p) are indeed the powerhouses of industry on this thread. I read your post and was thinking “3 French hens, 2 turtle doves and a partridge in a pear tree”. 🎵 🎶 😁
Good morning from Durham. No idea what’s going on outside, but it sounds breezy. The builders have finished, but the debris and scaffolding is still to be removed.
DGS1’s nativity was brilliant. He was a very enthusiastic sheep - that boy was born to be on the stage.
I saw my dear friend later - a cock-up with her GP’s receptionist has seen her emergency tests due this Sunday postponed. We are both angry about it, but she is convinced she is going to die. A breast cancer survivor, she said she’s had 7 years longer than she ever thought - time to see her only child settled and with children of her own. She says she can only do her best and if that’s not good enough, then so be it. It was an emotional afternoon.
Today, DD2 has a dental appointment, so I’ll see if she needs help there, but if not, I’m sure I’ll find something to occupy myself.
Best wishes to all. X
Good morning all from south Manchester where it’s still dark but dry out anyway. I’m meeting another friend this afternoon in the square below. It’s so good to catch up with old (not just literally) friends. I remember her and her husband moving in round the corner to us when we had a house. He was just 21 and a newly trained policeman. He’s 62 now and they are grandparents. Obviously we remember their boys as babies. Our family is very much entwined with theirs. They are joining us this Sunday for lunch with my stepfather. A table for 5 has already been booked at a very Christmassy pub in Glazebrook.
Good morning, Michael and all GNs from a still dark but dry South Yorkshire. Yesterday was bitterly cold. I posted all my cards in the morning and then I went to the filling station at Morrisons and put air in my tyres. Why is this newsworthy you ask? I’ve been driving for thirty eight years and have never had to do this myself on any car we’ve had. I’m ashamed that I didn’t know how to do it; I had to look at a YouTube video😳!!
School in the afternoon was chaotic with dress rehearsals for the nativity play in full swing. Two of my readers were dressed as sheep (“can you guess what I am, Miss?” “Er…..”), one as a wise man. I have been invited to watch the production on Tuesday.
Writers group this afternoon at the library.
Have the best day you can, folks.
Morning all, I have had a disturbed nights sleep due to The Imp creeping in beside me at 1am. Have to get him to school for 8am for his school trip to the zoo (Santa’s reindeers and penguins) he is rather excited.
I will go to the gym mid morning, and potter this afternoon.
(((Hugs))) to all in need 🎄🧑🎄🎅🏻🤶🏻
Sorry forgot to mention I’m a proud Fifer 😭😭
Good morning everyone from a dry but cold start to the day. I’m off this afternoon to Next To get a few Christmas gifts it’s going to be fun. I’ll get myself a Christmas jumper then I’m going to Costa coffee for a lunchtime snack.
Have a good day my friends keep nice and warm
Good morning from s somerset, weather will be the same as yesterday, for a few more days. Dull and chilly
I am wishing you all well, with recovery ahead. It is sad to read of pain and loneliness.
I worked on the plot yesterday and will do more, at least for the next week. Good progress is being made and my bones and fingers are telling the tale. It is all worth it when little robin visits.
Excuse me being single minded, the objective is to get the plot formed and ready for my gentle pottering from next spring. Today I am putting 4 screws into the roofing felt, just belt and braces. Connecting the last 2 water butts. Dismantling a couple of rotting wooden beds, moving and stacking a huge pile of wood, hoping that will be the final time I move it all. I can take my time sawing that lot for the tip
Out by 8.30 and home by 12.30
Have a good day
Good morning from Malta where it is currently 10°C but the forecast says it will reach 20°C later.
grandMattie, as always I’m in awe of how much you get done. All that baking is such a lot of work but you must be an expert and I can almost smell the delicious aroma.
Feel rather embarrassed to say all I did yesterday was have my hair and nails done. I’m rather pleased with the latter, they are the only bit of me that is remotely festive!
Have a good day all of you.☀️
My poor Ash. I’m glad your GP is being so pro-active. May your pain be sorted out and your mobility increase.
Oops, simples. One or three batches of dough, not much difference; ditto cutting out and baking. Just time consuming. Also, good planning - cook the tart while the biscuit dough rests, the cake at the end after all the short biscuit cooking is over…
