Really “ ladies” this is a respectable forum read by those older and with heightened sensibilities.😉

I do the shopping, online, but let MrJ know, he does all the wrapping and I write the labels.
He buys all of my presents himself, but I do sent him and my children a wish list as they and the grandchildren do me. I’ve never bought my own gifts

Me to MissI. I was ready to post a large NO.

I also thought the OP meant a completely different kind of surprise for their OH! blush

Katyj

62Granny. Unfortunately he’s not very good at wrapping either. And he always prefers me to write everything, says my handwriting is much neater. I’ll have to think of something else he can do. 🤣

Mine's bringing down the decorations from the attic.
I'll stick to buying and wrapping presents!

Oh yes! When people say 'Thank you for the present' he waits until they are out of earshot then asks me what we got them. I have asked him what people would get if I wasn't here. He said 'Money or nothing.' I even choose my own presents and he wraps them up but he does get me a few small surprises.

I have bought, wrapped and labelled presents for children, grand children and great grandchildren over recent weeks. This morning his nibs says ‘what do you want for Christmas, are you buying it ?’ I cannot repeat my reply. He really is getting so lazy. Mind you he is not good at choosing presents. Last year he bought me an autobiography by someone I cannot stand. He said he had heard me mention the name - yes in a rant about the writer’s ridiculous political views. Observation us not his strong point.

A few years ago my son and Dil were joining us for Christmas Day at my daughter’s house. Before setting off from home on Xmas Eve my son texted to say they’d forgotten to buy a gift for my daughter’s parents in law. I said not to worry, I’d wrap a box of M&S biscuits and slip them to him.

By the following day that conversation seemed to have slipped his mind. Amidst all the excitement of arriving at my daughter’s house, children bursting with excitement etc I discreetly gave the gift to my son and reminded him why I had it.

After dinner we opened our gifts and my son duly opened the gift he was supposed to hand to my daughter’s parents in law. Then for good measure he thanked them and said they were his favourite biscuits 🙈

I was wondering what you were asking Katyj🙊 thought it was your gift to him😏
On a more serious note, would he do the wrapping for you, you write the labels while he wraps, at least that way he would know what each person is getting.

Yes, apart from what he's bought for me!

The DC always laugh, especially when DIL says thank you to me and to him and DS says "he's never seen it before".

When he sees what he’s bought everyone for Christmas ! Saw this online and it sums us up perfectly. My DH has absolutely no interest in buying gifts, let alone thinking about what to buy, which to me is the hardest part.
Mostly all done now but I’ve told him next year he needs to put more effort in. It’s hard work.
