Who's been unexpectedly kind to you this year, or at any time?

We have 2 decorators, father and son, they are just lovely.

Aside from doing a very good job, they are tidy, respectful and can put a lavatory seat down!

We asked them to pop in to do some touch ups before our house went on the market.

They were in for about 2 hours.

They refused point blank to accept payment, they said it was because we are their nicest customers and apparently the only ones that provide bacon butties in the morning and cake in the afternoon!

Mine sort of painted my kitchen last week.

They did a terrible job, but it was kind of them.

2 of my Grandsons turned up unexpectedly on a Sunday morning and spent all morning jet scrubbing my very dirty driveway and garden patio area. Then mended my falling apart back garden gate. I was so grateful as I’m selling up and the house wasn’t looking it’s best.

I know how much the normal, everyday things mean, long may they continue for you, fgt x

It is the little things, and they stay with you.
It's nice to think of them again, isn't it?

My husband. Always.
Sorry if that sounds a bit schmaltzy MissA!
I just seem to appreciate him even more these days. And he brings me TIB every day (when he can). 💙

It's the little things that make such a difference. Sitting in the middle of the night as my Dad was slowly dying, a kind nursing assistant brought me a piping hot drink in her own mug. It really helped at the time. I never forgot it. No doughnut though. How desperately sad about your daughter.

I've been following your mum's ups and downs, Susan, so it's great to hear she has that litter bit of extra compassion being shown smile

When my mum was in hospital the hospital chaplain and two of the ward sisters were so supportive of us.I genuinely don’t know how we would have got through without them.
Now mum is in a care home the office manager and a couple of the carers go above and beyond their jobs in looking after mum and helping us.Absolute angels.

Ah, that's brilliant.
I was going to say lovely, but...

Anyway, it was lovely of her.

I was cutting a patch of rough overgrown grass at the back of my garden wall and my strimmer conked out. I struggled on with lawn shears when a lady I didn’t know came out of a house opposite with her strimmer and without a word, began to help me. I’m told her there was no need but she insisted and we had it done in no time. She even insisted on helping me tidy up the cuttings. She saved me a lot of hard work on a hot day. I bought her some chocolates as a thank you. We are now on first name terms though I don’t see her very often.

Just small things, not cruises or anything like that, please, nor how kind you've been to others

Just small random acts that have stayed with you.

Mine for this year is a random grand netter, when I was moaning about my health, and how I may have to get a taxi to and from hospital.

I got an inbox from someone, who I'm not friends with, particularly, and don't even know, particularly.

She said she was more than happy to transfer some money into my bank sooner than me miss the appointment. smile

It's not about gransnet, by the way, just kindness.

Also, when I was called to the hospital for "the chat" when my girlie was dying, the junior doctor aged about seventeen, had bought me a donut.
