Good morning everyone from Inverness where it’s mild and looks wet and windy
Gorgeous houses gMattie bet your neighbour really enjoyed the afternoon. Hoping things improve for Iris soon, poor girl
karma you’ve worked so hard on your allotment, you’re such an inspiration to others, well done
Off out this morning for a short walk and coffee at a different garden centre, just for a change. Our local Dobbies is closing permanently in a few days, it’ll leave a big space at the retail park.
redcar 💐
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings 💐

Good morning all. Another wet, dreich day in Glasgow and yes, I too felt a lack of daylight yesterday.

Being such a stinker of a day yesterday I was glad to be indoors. I am beginning to see a light at the end of the tunnel re. admin having to supply so much information for closure of probate seemed never ending.

Rain or not today, I must do a Waitrose trip, essential as I am running out of cat food! A script to collect then the ironmongers for lightbulbs and hopefully, as my readings for gas/electricity are due and I can’t find the key for the gas box, hoping they stock such a thing. Hunted high and low for the key but without success.

Ouch Oops that sounds painful, hope it clears up soon.
My thoughts are with Primrose facing such a difficult time (hugs). Stay strong dear lady.
Sorry to hear you had another night of broken sleep Greyduster Look after yourself, eating is essential even when we have no appetite. I’m sure you will do better. 😉

Best wishes to all for a good day, especially those who have worries and struggles, may your day be easier.

Good morning everyone from a fully paid up member of the 3 o’clock club! It’s just getting light in mid Essex, but I have no idea what the weather is doing. Nearly at the shortest day!
primrose I was so sorry to read about your poor DH, you must be devastated. Thinking of you and praying for some improvement in his condition.
oops your toe sounds incredibly painful, maybe it’s not too late to see a nurse about it?
grandmattie lovely gingerbread houses, I bet you and your neighbour had fun decorating them.
roses and bellasnana I don’t feel particularly festive either, my DH and I both caught Covid in December 2020 along with DD1 and her DH. We were all isolating just before Christmas and I remember it as a nightmare time. Sadly DH didn’t recover from Covid. So it’s always a sad time for us as a family, but life goes on and the granddaughters are a great distraction, especially as I’m staying with DD1 at the moment. The 6 year olds had their Christmas play/performance yesterday, which was very sweet apparently.
Have the best day possible everyone, I shall try to find a radio station playing carols & finish wrapping presents. Just two pairs of fairy wings to wrap! (Approximately 2ft across🙄)

Good morning everyone from south Manchester. It’s dry, just getting light with a pale pink wash silhouetting the Pennies over yonder. I’m enjoying my first TIB. Himself says he’ll make the next one. He’s snoozing beside me.

We are calling in to see friends this afternoon. The husband was in hospital for 10 weeks over the summer and ended up having a stomach operation. Biopsies showed cancer too, poor man. We fervently hope to see an improvement in him today.

Good morning from a mild Black Country.

A good walk with u3a Canal group yesterday. Then a stop at the Marina clubhouse for coffee and mince pie.

Today is a longer walk with my Thursday group, which they do once a month starting from various locations. Today it is from the village my DD lives in. I think a stop at the cafe in the village is on the cards too!

Then pop into Mums on the way home.

Thinking of Primrose and her DH today flowers

Morning Mick, morning All. From what I can see it’s fine out there, rain forecast later.

It turned very damp over the bridge yesterday, fine rain soaked us in the (long and steep) trek to the door with our friends supermarket haul. She could survive a siege now. Lunch was tasty and enjoyable, I was warm and happy sat by a radiator.

Quiet one ahead other than a foray to the hairdresser for a trim this morning. Mr C will deliver the local cards while I’m gone then with luck we’ll do little else.

That does sound sore oops. Perhaps worth a medical opinion. Those houses are just right grandmattie. Good news about the ceiling grammaretto. Nativity plays are magical greyd, I’m quite envious.

Thinking of primrose and all with worries or sadness. Hope Tuesday is kind to us all.

Good morning from Shropshire.Mixed forecast for today.

We were disappointed with the festive food on offer in Aldi so it will be Sainsburys later in the week.

Today I will go with DD1 to see mum.DD wants to take us all out for lunch. We will see how things are when we get there.

The toe sounds very painful Oops.Maybe you could still see the nurse about it.DD2 ripped her toe nail half off many years ago and the rest was removed under local anaesthetic with special dressings applied for weeks until it healed.Look after yourself.

Safe travels to olddudders🙏🏻

Have the best day you can everyone🦩🎅🏼🎄

Bellasnana Tue 17-Dec-24 07:10:49

Good morning from Malta where it’s is going to be sunny and 18°C/10°C which is good as it rained and was gloomy all day yesterday.

I’m very late this morning having slept too long. If I ever get going I need to do some shopping and I also have a hair appointment.

Oops your poor toe, I do hope it will soon be better.

grandMattie your gingerbread houses are so pretty! Thanks for the photos. Poor little Iris though.😢

Roses I’m glad it’s not just me who doesn’t feel in the festive mood. It will be my ninth Christmas without DH, he loved Christmas and we were lucky to have many happy ones but it just makes it harder to go through it all without his loving presence. I’ll put on a happy face for everyone but would much rather just be alone with my thoughts.

Primrose my heart goes out to you.💐

I knew what D.V. meant too. In Maltese it’s ‘jekk Allah irrid’ (literally, ‘if God wants’.).

Wishing you all the best day possible.☀️

Good morning from a dark W Kent. Rather taken aback when my cleaner handed me a Christmas present, I had hers ready its never happened before. Fencing men back this morning hopefully to finish. Otherwise another day of very little.
Lovely house *gM^
Best wishes to.all

Grammaretto Tue 17-Dec-24 06:49:25

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders where it's on the mild side but very dark.
True to their word 4 men arrived at 7.30 yesterday to replace the sitting room ceiling.
They had gone by 4pm when I got home from my festive lunch. They had cleaned up well afterwards. They'll be back today to finish the job. I think hope

I may go out and shop for presents and food to be out of their way.

Such sweet little houses gMattie
Have a happy day whatever you do everyone 😊

Grandmabatty Tue 17-Dec-24 06:28:33

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 10° and wet. Baubles it was so gloomy yesterday and darkness fell by three. GrandMattie the houses are lovely. Oops might still be worth a visit to the nurse.
Yesterday dgs2 and I had a quiet day. He enjoyed playgroup and was given a Christmas present from them. Lots of painting was done. We got absolutely drenched picking up his brother from school. The rain was biblical.
Today I intend to deliver the local Christmas cards and he can help me. Then I expect more painting. I won't be picking up dgs1 after school as he is going to a friend's house for a couple of hours. Have a good day all

Greyduster Tue 17-Dec-24 06:23:56

Good morning, Michael and all GNs from still dark South Yorkshire. Another night of broken sleep. I didn’t eat much yesterday because I was busy, and woke up in the early hours with my stomach protesting! Must try and do better today. I posted the last of my cards and ordered some stuff from the local bakers to be picked up on Christmas Eve. Had a short walk late afternoon. Met my neighbour and his dog and nattered until we both realised it was suddenly quite dark!
Today I am going to the Nativity play at the school where I volunteer during the week. It will be nice to see the outcome of all the mayhem and activity of the last few weeks of rehearsals!
Have the best day you can, folks.

Jaxjacky Tue 17-Dec-24 06:23:20

Morning all, 9 in S Hampshire, positively balmy. Yesterday was busy on the voluntary phone, I have to update online stats first thing this morning.
Quiz was busy last night and all those bodies made the pub warm, as ever, the music round was our failing.
Big ouch Oops that must be so painful and tricky to help it heal.
How lovely gMattie you have a lot of patience.
We need to start wrapping, MrJ’s forte, I’m label monitor!

Good morning from s somerset, rain by this evening

Such awful news Primrose, may you your family find the strength to cope and I hope there is steady progress. My mum had a stroke and my well-loved neighbour had a stroke. I have some inkling of what you and your family are going through. Thinking about you all

I did all I set out to do yesterday, I am hoping there is not too much more of this achingly hard work, my hands have had a bashing and my fingers ache.

The expected rain tonight enforces me to carry on today at fast pace, I have 3 beautiful plants with large roots balls to put out, it involves digging out 3 big holes in crusty dense heavy clay, my first job. Second job is to put in another 8 grids, in front of the shed, I was tenacious is preparing the ground yesterday.

No baking today, I made scones yesterday and they are in the freezer. I really like those pretty houses GM

Have a good day

baubles Tue 17-Dec-24 06:05:10

Good morning from dark and damp South Lanarkshire.

There was so little daylight yesterday, roll on the solstice, these short days are depressing.

Last night was eldest DGD’s school concert, she plays the clarinet and sang in the choir. Lovely to see the enthusiasm of the young people.

Charity shop this afternoon but before that daft dug has an appointment with the groomer, she always comes home smelling gorgeous.

Pretty houses gM.

That sounds horribly painful Oops.

Have the best day possible everyone.

Good morning all from a dry and relatively mild north Wales 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿- we barely had the heating on yesterday - how weird!

So sad to read your post Primrose 💐and a stark reminder to all of us that Carpe Diem (as grandMattie says 👋) should be our GM motto! Those little houses are too cute!

I knew Deo Volente meant God Willing, Ash, as I’d checked out a Christian alternative to Inshallah which Mr PG uses due to him having learned a smattering of Arabic whilst working in ME (3 months …🤣)

Belated birthday greetings to Baubles and 🥂to anyone else with something to celebrate 🥳

Soup and more sauces to make today and yes, I know I can buy them but I’m still enthralled with my kitchen 🧑‍🍳after a month away - wait til after Christmas when it’ll be a different story 🤣

Hope to read all your bizzinesses later and see more pics of your lovely 🌲- mine is still languishing in a cupboard (well I can’t be good at all domestic stuff…🤷‍♀️) it’s in the diary for Saturday when a grandchild or two might help!

Oopsadaisy1 Tue 17-Dec-24 05:51:58

Lovely houses GM

Oopsadaisy1 Tue 17-Dec-24 05:50:54

Hit something when I was wending my way to the upstairs loo, when our bathroom pom was being refitted, it was dark, I had vertigo, my toe slid under something and tore some of the nail off, Vertigo has gone now and the swelling has gone right down and I can now walk on it, but it’s been nearly 3 weeks now and is still very sore.
Ho hum should have gone to see the Nurse I guess,

Good morning from a dry Bristol.

Yesterday was a bit of a surprise! DD invited me to dinner and a school concert of 9 lessons and carols where DGD was singing, in her old church in Redcliffe. It was delightful.

Iris was in a tizz as she needed to finish much postponed homework for today, but spent her time crying and refusing help.

My neighbour came in the early afternoon to decorate her own little house, I did the other 10. I thought I had loads of little sugar thingies to put on, but virtually finished the lot in the afternoon, requiring inventiveness. Cue a job for next year - find all sorts of decorations suitable for little houses…. I put my neighbour on the case as well! She ha£ a wonderful time,I think.
Today, I’m off to town to get some voucher for the girls, bits and pieces and possibly a dress or something for me.
Carpe diem 🦩🦩🦩🦩

RosesandLilac Tue 17-Dec-24 05:47:00

Dear Lordy Oops, what happened to your toe? Very painful I imagine 🤗

RosesandLilac Tue 17-Dec-24 05:46:00

Good morning Mick and followers, it’s a damp start to Tuesday here in south Glos. I’ve been awake on and off all night with a hacking cough so doing not a lot today.
The dog has her lovely dog walker this morning and I’m going to sort out a few bits for a charity collection tomorrow. I also need to find my warmer slippers, I have no idea where they are 🙄
Still lacking enthusiasm for Christmas, it’s just as well there’s only the two of us!
Enjoy today if you can 🌹

Oopsadaisy1 Tue 17-Dec-24 05:45:28

Good morning Mike and all who follow.

Builder is here and starts at 8 so I will need to get up and shower before he gets here.

Nothing much to do today, too early to make mince pies (we will eat them all!) so will uncover my toe, put my foot up and hope it will help it to heal, I’ll have to put a bag over it so I don’t make MrOops queasy.

Have a good day everyone, let’s hope we have another sunny day..

Michael12 Tue 17-Dec-24 05:35:32
