Good news today on husband after stroke

On Monday I posted on the Good Morning thread about my husband in hospital. I had found a bottle of Holy Water in my wardrobe which I kept when my Mum passed away as she was a firm believer.

I took it to hospital the next day and put some on his arm and leg that aren’t working and also on his forehead. I took it home and forgot all about it.

Went in again today and his BP was excellent (this is the man who often has it up in the 200s!) he was eating a sandwich supervised by the dietician (after 3 weeks tube fed) and his speech was much better as was his droopy mouth. Two doctors came to the bed and said he had made great progress in the last few days and he will be going to rehab unit for stroke patients for physio, speech therapy etc. They just need a free bed. His feeding tube will probably come out on Monday.

I asked my husband how come his speech was so much better and he shrugged. Then my son said “it must be the holy water.” I was just open mouthed!

We are so pleased as it has been a very stressful and worrying 3 weeks for all of us.
I remain convinced my late Mum had a hand in this as she loved my husband and if she were still here would be splashing him with her holy water.

Thank you all for your kind wishes.

Wonderful news, Primrose. I'm a great believer in the power of prayer, and of holy water. I have quite a collection, from Rome, Lourdes, Fatima, Ephesus and Knock. I'm delighted for both of you. Have a peaceful and happy Christmas. 🎄 🙏🕯

Very good news Primrose. The holy water has worked its magic. My parents were not particularly religious , but once my father had a nasty wound on his leg that refused to heal despite the medical care he received. They were on holiday in Ireland and visited an Abbey with a well of holy water. My father poured the water over his bandage much to Mums horror, she was very concerned about aggravating his situation and causing more infection. The wound completely healed after two weeks! They never forgot that.
So pleased for both of you , have a good Christmas 🎄

Wonderful news. The power of prayer is amazing!
I would suggest contacting the Stroke Association. They were very helpful after Dad had a stroke.
