Roses 💐
Morning all from West Oxfordshire. It’s still dark.
My food processor should be delivered today - whoopie do! The window is 9.30 am to 1.30 pm. I am having a baking day and hoping to make a lot of Christmas stuff, which I’ll freeze. This includes bread sauce, stuffing, marzipang the cake, sausage rolls. This will probably carry over to tomorrow. On Sunday we’ve booked lunch out.
I’m thinking of those of you with difficulties. Mick - why haven’t you seen your GP?
Have a good day.
Good morning from our lovely hotel in Pitlochry. DD and I had a perfect day together yesterday and she is just about to head to the pool where I am not joining her😳!
TIB for me to quote FGT, and quiet gratitude for the good things.
Safe journey brook and a happy weekend which I’m sure you’ll have. Glad you had a good day yesterday grandMattie.
My eldest DGD’s 21st birthday today, hopefully her card has arrived and I’ll text in a wee while. I’ll be with her on Christmas Day but I’m saving her gift until her ‘girls’ afternoon tea celebration on the 28th for those of us who have no desire to go to the Disco at the Rugby Club that she is sharing with 3 of her local friends who are all 21 in the week before and the week after Christmas!
Good wishes to all for as peaceful a day as possible.
Morning Mick, morning All from a very wet corner of Somerset.
We settled on our nearest NT property for our venture forth yesterday and were delighted with the decorations created by the volunteers. Lunch in a museum cafe close by followed by three shops on the way home and it was dark before we knew it.
Grocery delivery this morning, some general pottering, a hair cut (I wield clippers!) for Mr C, a whizz to a local supermarket for the items I like to pick myself and the day will be gone.
Please listen mick, unless you’ve been advised by your medical team to weigh daily it’s not such a good idea. Please report what’s happening and take some medical advice on how often to weigh and what steps to take.
That’s sad news maw, distance is such a barrier. Hope travelling is trouble free brook. Can your family help with transporting items grandmattie?
Take care everyone. Hope Friday is kind to us all.
Good morning.
Mick please do as others have said and speak to your medical team.
for Rosiesmaw
We visited my brother yesterday. It was good to see him and he was able to have a bit of a chat. He now has a chest infection for too and tired very quickly. It is so sad to see my big burly brother looking so frail.
I shall cheered today by smallest DGS who is coming to play for an hour this morning and I have Christmas jobs to do.
Thought with all who have illness or troubles to deal with and wising ha good day for everyone.
Good morning, the first week day that we haven’t had to get up early for builders, thank goodness they have all finished.
Mick please call your team at the JR, even just for a chat about your ongoing problems.that’s what they are there for.
Maw so sorry for your loss💐
Have a good day everyone, hug for those who are sad, unwell or stressed.
Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 6° and damp. Brook safe journey. RosiesMaw 💐
Yesterday was a catalogue of errors, mostly mine. I left the house in plenty time for my hair appointment but the car key battery had died. It wasn't a surprise - it had been flashing a warning for days. I replaced it then tried to get into the car- nope. The driver's door had frozen shut. I park close to the (horrible) leylandii hedge, so I had to squeeze past and managed to get in the passenger door. Then I had to heave myself over to the driver's seat. I tried the door from the inside. Nope, still frozen. So now I was stuck inside the car going nowhere. The only thing was to run the engine and wait til it had defrosted. I needed to phone the hairdresser by this point to say I was running late. Eventually I got to town and parked, except I couldn't find my purse in my bag. I had visions of leaving it on the kitchen worktop when I was changing the car battery. I trusted back to the car and there it was, on the floor in the back. Haircut achieved, present exchanged and home. In the afternoon I headed to the garden centre in Stirling for afternoon tea except I got the time wrong and was there forty minutes early! We did have a lovely time and I gave everyone a laugh with my adventures. My friend, who paid for the five of us, also gave us all a small box of Highland Chocolatiere chocs too.
Today I'm going nowhere! I intend to wrap the rest of the presents and potter quietly at home. Have a good day all
Should say trudged not trusted
Good morning everyone, it’s getting light here in mid Essex. No idea what the weather is doing, but I think the forecast is for a cold day again.
It’s the last day at school for the granddaughters, who have been quite noisy this morning so are obviously excited about it!
I have a physio appointment this morning and I hope DD2 will also take me home to pick up the post and drop a few things off. I wrapped up the fairy wings for her two girls yesterday, but I think I still have to wrap a present for her six year old that she has at her house.
Have the best day possible everyone, may we all find some sunshine!
So sad Maw 😞
But look forward to reconnecting with the next generation.
I am infinitely grateful that DS who lives in NZ was able to travel here despite covid restrictions when his
dad was dying. A comfort to DH as well as me and the rest.
Good morning from a very wet and windy Glasgow.
I was planning a walk through the large woodland area of our local park but unless the heavy rain stops, won’t be happening today. Plan B is a visit to the garden centre alongside it for a wander around and coffee.
GD2 has been invited to join her best friend and her parents on a Mediterranean cruise next summer. Both girls are already planning which outfits they will wear. I have asked GD to keep a diary of her travels, something for her to look back on in the future.
Enjoy spending time with your family Brook
It would be better to discuss your weight issues with your doctor Mick rather than weighing yourself daily which won’t give you the answer you need.
Happy birthday to your DH GrannyGravy
Good luck for today’s appointment Grammaretto
Best wishes for a good day and a more settled day for all with ongoing troubles.
Good morning from County Durham.
I've had a few groggy days since our return from Edinburgh and felt very unsettled. I think all the rushing about has wiped me out. Maybe not such a good idea to enjoy a break so close to Christmas.
I'm meeting GD1 today, she broke up from school yesterday and fancies a trip into the city. We'll have a wander and no doubt stop for a coffee break. It will be lovely to spend some time with her on her own.
DGS3 will be sleeping over tonight as his parents are out with work colleagues celebrating.
He's a quiet little chap on his own and will happily sit drawing and sketching. He does however rise early, even after a late night!
The rest of the day will be spent finishing off a knitted wreath I am making for my sister. The main part is complete, it's just all those fiddly bits now. Next year I shall make one for my girls as I'm rather pleased with the result.
Sorry to hear your sad news Roses. I have one remaining elder sister who lives only 12 miles away. I hardly see her as she is always so busy with family and church work. Your news makes me realise we really should make more effort, as unlike you we have no excuse.
Sending
dear lady.
Wishing all a peaceful day.
So sad for you, Maw. 🌺
And re. Prezzies. I’m taking a taxi, but it’s the packing, etc., which is exercising me!
Good morning all from a dark but dry Black country.
Condolences Maw 💐
DH should have had bloods taken today but they've been cancelled due to sickness at the surgery.
We have something to pick up from local sorting office no idea what but the underpaid charge is £2.50.
Bellasnanna my grandsons have hours of fun with Thomas the Tank trains, they where my Great nephews.
Meeting friends later at the club.
Enjoy your day everyone whatever your plans ☀️
Good morning all and it’s chilly here in Essex.
Today DD is having a PET scan and this entails having radioactive dye put through her. Consequently 9 yr old DGD can’t be near her mum for 8 plus hours, so I’m picking her up and bringing her back here .
We’ll do some Christmas baking and she’ll decorate her gingerbread house that she assembled last Sunday. It should be nicely set by now. 🤞.
I have my Chimes concert at a local towns library and have to be there by 4.45 - I’ll take DGD along but I’m dreading the traffic at that time, getting through my town and across The Weir. You understand what I mean GG.🙄. I’ll have to give myself plenty of time- they can’t start without me 😂.
Condolences Maw.
Have a lovely time with your family Brooke.
Happy birthday Mr GG.
Take care at this busy time.🎄
Ps. When I got in my car yesterday morning, the glove compartment was open and items strewn over the seat and floor. I asked Dh and he hadn’t been in the car, so we assume it was broken into looking for money, valuables etc.. strangely no sign of breakin. We always lock the car, so it’s a mystery !
Lots of love to all 🌟
Good morning Mick and everyone from what looks like a damp Carlisle...too dark to tell!
Mick understandably, you don't want to confront your worst fears, but really, you must! You may well find there's a simple remedy but if not, your problem will be all the worse to sort if left. You need to lay out your worries to the professionals and get action. Please!
On the home front here, I have had 6 hours of solid, deep sleep, pain-free. Unheard of for years as I regularly have to wake for eye drop applications.. The steroids may be helping that problem too? Sadly my body deems that 6 hours is quite enough so I have been awake since 4.30am.
I'm off early to the hairdressers then it's back to a myriad of little jobs. Later, I may plough on with the Merkel memoirs, the nitty gritty detail of German politics is proving a tad tedious.
Maw that's very sad for you even though she was lost to you years ago.
Oh Rosiesmaw2 sending you (((hugs)))
I know that feeling of having nobody around you with shared memory 😿
Good morning all, from a wet Glasgow, where it is 7°C.
My condolences, Maw.💐
Such a long journey, for a short appointment Grammaretto. Could it not be done locally and tbe results shared? That's what happened to me, when I had to attend the Jubilee. Take care. X
Safe journey, journey brook and enjoy your time with your family.
Stilllearning, I think I may have stayed in your hotel. I hope you can manage to squeeze in a trip to House of Bruar.
There is no point in urging Mick to see a doctor, for he continues to disregard the advice of GM posters. 😪 Why post about it, then not come back and respond?
Another busy day ahead and I just don't have the energy nor stamina for it. DH forgot to put the pram back in the car yesterday, so an hour round trip is required. 😡
Babydoll needs it for nursery for her nap. She keeps the other toddlers awake by her giggling, if they put her in a cot, but will sleep in her pram.
She refused to nap yesterday, so it was a very long day, but she was such good fun and so entertaining.
I wish you all a pleasant day, whatever your plans. As always, those with worries and sorrow are in my thoughts.
Morning from a frosty S Hants. Happy Birthday MrGG13 🎂🥂and a smooth journey for you brook.
Wrapping all done now, apart from wrapping for each other, beds remade and food delivery stashed.
Grandchildren staying tonight, my daughter is out with work colleagues, it’s a well deserved social evening for her.
MrJ on his last voluntary drive this year, I’ll have a downstairs tidy up.
🦩🦩
Taking my neighbour with Altzheimers to oldies’ coffee morning and a little light shopping but no other plans for the day. Must remember to post a 60th birthday card to ensure it arrives for just after Christmas. How can someone I knew in her pram be 60? Doesn’t seem possible.
Good morning all. The sky's just beginning to lighten on the Angus coast but no idea what the weather is going to do except it's "5° cooler than yesterday".
I'm so sorry Rosiesmaw. Such sad news for you
Safe trip to Cambridge Brook and have a lovely pre-Christmas time.
I'm off to Stirling for lunch and to meet up with DS1 and his wife, but mostly to see Li'l Ollie, my great grandson. Stirling is the halfway point between our homes so a good place for a Christmas sleigh exchange! As it's not far from where DGDs 1 and 3 live, they're coming too. I'm really childishly excited!!
Have a lovely day everyone 🎄🎁🎶
Good morning Mick and all from bright Berkshire. Good journey by train down from the north yesterday, but my back is complaining bitterly. My (not massive) suitcase is to blame I think.
Flying daughter arrived from Athens later in the evening and is working today. I intend to go into Windsor and hope the back calms down…
Condolences RosiesMaw birthday greetings Grannygravy DH and thoughts to all.🎄
Good morning from a grey but dry NE.
Today would have been DH's 80th birthday, sad day for me.
DD travelling to the UK and hopefully I will see her tomorrow.
Message from my sister, in hospital in Germany, ENT surgeon visited and she should have the splints out of her nose on the 27th. She has been told the neck brace will have to remain for 13 weeks and also has to have an operation on one knee, that injury wasn't mentioned before.
I am still in the dark as to how the accident happened, she has not told anyone.
Going to do some housework because the whole family are coming tomorrow.
Have a good day everyone.
