Good morning all from a chilly North Leicestershire.

Our lovely roof men are coming at 9.30 to put a couple of slates back, the bed needs changing and I have to finish the wrapping

Yesterday we were asked to help supervise the children walking from their school to the church for the school's Nativity Service which was, naturally, fabulous - the donkey kept waving to his parents and one of the kings had terrible trouble with his crown.

Have the best day possible everyone.

Good morning everyone from south Manchester. It’s dry. 3°C Alexa tells me, rising to 8°Clater with showers. I’ve got TIB and toast courtesy of Himself as I’m off out soon - being picked up by Teacher Mummy as I’ve been asked to mind L’il Miss. her school in Trafford broke up for 🎄 yesterday and the rest of the family finish late afternoon. I suggested I take her to the hair salon round the corner from them - see if they can fit her in for a dry cut. “Oh mum, yes please if you don’t mind”. If not it’ll have to be after Christmas.

Early evening we 6 have a table reserved in our favourite Italian restaurant to start the holiday season off on a high note!

I put my cards on my living room glass door, I’ve done this every year with sellotape since moving in many years ago

Good morning all from a cold and windy east coast of Fife. I’m going to my local shops today with my carer who’s leaving on the 24th for another job , however I’m pleased to say my new carer starts soon into the new year. The Christmas presents are flowing in and I’ve many Christmas cards too.

Breakfast today will be a bacon and egg roll.

Have a good day my friends be kind to all and keep safe

Good morning everyone from Inverness, it’s still dark and looks a bit frosty outside
Well done with the pjs gMattie, they sound good and I hope the family all enjoy wearing them
An early start for me, I’m off to DD1s in Cambridge for the weekend. I’m not looking forward to the busy travelling chaos but really looking forward to being there.
I hope the little boys have many happy hours playing with your sons old toys bellas

Good morning from Malta where we are in for a wet, windy day with a high of 16°C and a low of 6°C!

Yesterday I went down to my garage and dug out my sons old toys so the boys can play with them. They needed a good scrub but there are several construction vehicles, a Brio train set and a big bag of Thomas the Tank Engine trains.

I also went to buy the boys’ Christmas presents which I hope they will like.

Today I am supposed to meet a friend for coffee if my insides settle down. I’ve been up and down all night.

grandMattie you are a marvel! I hope your efforts will be appreciated. You are so kind and thoughtful to go to such trouble.

Wishing you all a good day.☀️

Good morning from Durham. Still dark and rain forecast soon.
I’m meeting a friend for coffee this morning, then returning a parcel to Next and picking up a few things in M&S.
Another friend has several NHS appointments today and we are hoping for the results of various tests she’s had recently - hopefully better than she anticipated.
Last few gifts to wrap.

Best wishes to all. X

Good morning, Michael and all GNs. Mick I can only second most emphatically what Georgesgran has said. Your friends on here are concerned for you.
A dull day in prospect here, but plenty to do. Yesterday was the last formal get together of the walking group though there may be informal get togethers during the holidays. I spent a very relaxing couple of hours with my niece in the afternoon chewing over various family matters. This Christmas, God willing, will be very much better than last as she lost one of her brothers on Christmas Day.
I have spare beds to sort out today as DD and the menfolk will be staying over on Christmas Day night. Final presents to wrap, and some baking to do.
Have the best day you can folks.

Good morning from s somerset, cool and rainy today

It feels like a hunkering down day today, I might just start by bottoming one room, cleaning, sorting cupboards that sort of thing. Quite a nice thing to do with some cheerful 70s music playing. I find that more satisfying mid-winter than a bit of this and a bit of that, from here there and everywhere.

My aches are almost gone and my swollen fingers are back to normal so I will be able to knit again, always a good reserve for a rest-period. I may even get my jumper ufo out and get on with the next pattern stage as I am liking the home spun corriedale very much and that top-down circular jumper won`t make itself

Have a good day

Good morning from a chilly Bristol.

Never weigh yourself more than once a week, at the same time, same clothes, Mick.

I had a lovely quiet day yesterday, recharging my batteries, but being very productive.

DD wanted me to make 4 pairs of pyjama bottoms for her family out of an old double duvet cover. I cut them out several weeks ago. It was a pig to fit them all in, and, for ages, I put off sewing them up.

I’ve run out of time. So, I took my courage in both hands and it took me only 4 quiet hours to sew them. Very pleased with the result. I hope they like them too when they open the presents on Christmas Eve. I’m adding matching tops from Asda and a pair of socks for the adults and bits for the girls.

I spent the afternoon wrapping, and worrying how on earth I would be getting the presents over to DD’s, as well as my own stuff for a couple of nights.

Today, I have 6 dozen mince pies to make. Good planning and preparation are key. The actual making is a doddle.

So many of the GMmers have problems with their health and families. Please rest assured that you are all in my thoughts and prayers. I also rejoice with you when you have good news. ❤️

Mick I agree with Georgesgran, please seek medical advice for your bowel issues and weight loss.

Georgesgran Fri 20-Dec-24 05:42:02

Mick you really must have your ongoing weight loss investigated. You are obviously concerned about it as you report it here most days.
Please make an appointment with yiur GP.
