Christmas is over-indulgence of faux sincerity to an obscene level and the emotional blackmail that runs rampant should be quantified in a way that makes it a criminal offence for relatives to try it on, ie: "but it might be my last Christmas......", and big business too, "You HAVE to do it for the kiddies."

'Christmas' should truthfully be spelt E.X.T.O.R.T.I.O.N.A.T.E. P.R.O.F.I.T.

I think you have to do what suits you for Christmas time. What anyone else thinks is irrelevant. Enjoy your day your way 😁.

I think doing what makes you happy is the important thing! If that’s your ideal day, go for it.

I hate New Year, I just don’t get it, and don’t join in the what looks to me like faux bonhomie. Once it’s midnight, I revert to my usual self and get on with life.
