Dear Mick, and all the Gransnetters on this link.
Think I may be the first of the day today. I wish you all a very happy Christmas. I hadnt felt well enough to go to midnight service, but planned to watch either programme of something from Bethlehem or a lovely service at a cathedral. Fell asleep , in my chair surrounded by chaos, . Woke just after 1am, cold, stiff as a board, and missed all the music and services Ah well , the best laid plans ... .Shall now totter off to bed and try and get warm, With a bit of luck I shall fall asleep for a bit longer, or at least be warm and more comfortable. Hope Father Christmas brought you something nice!!

Good morning. I am chilling, watching the television, and on my phone, the Christmas tree lights are on and it is peaceful.
Happy Christmas everyone, whatever you are doing today.

Sending my best wishes to everyone on Gransnet. I shall be spending Christmas alone and I'm looking forward to having a nice, peaceful day.

Good morning. Thinking of all the gransnetters today, especially those who are on their own - sending hugs and I hope you have a peaceful day. Apologies that I’ve not been on here for the past few mornings - our trip to our son and his fiancée’s home down south was tense and sad and not the happy time we anticipated. We are reeling and not feeling Christmassy so haven’t decorated the house this year but we know we are lucky to have each other. Hope those who are spending the day with family and friends have a fun time.

Merry Christmas everyone. Been awake since just before 4am.....not good as a busy day ahead with my family and hoping the noise and fun will give me enough energy to see
me through!!! Lol 😆 🌲🎅🎄🤶

Good afternoon, Madeliene, I did exactly the same as you!

And as I did not feel well enough to go to Mass today either, as I am coughing myself silly, I stayed at home and streamed the Mass from the Catholic cathedral of Copenhagen. Not the same at all, but I was pleasantly surprised by the aptness of the Bishop's sermon.

Hope you all have had an enjoyable Christmas Day.

First year since early married days just the two of us it has gone well, nice lunch, no squabbling, noisy children etc. I did see my beloved son and his children this morning. Then lunch, watched the king and now a good film.

First Christmas in nearly 48 years of marriage that my husband and I have not been properly together. Well, we got together for nearly 4 hours in the Stroke Unit where he is being well looked after. He got a Christmas lunch and dessert and son and I took nibbles and drinks in for us.

I do realise we are very fortunate though as 30% of people who have the type of stroke (haemorrhagic) he had, die before reaching hospital, 25% die within 2 days.

The Stroke Rehab Unit is full and the staff tell me there is never a spare bed, never. Scary stuff really that so many people have serious strokes.

I have made a donation to the Stroke Association this year as their information booklets have been really useful and there are helplines if I need them.

Happy Christmas everyone.

Primrose53, so glad to hear that things are going well for your DH. Obviously it’s still a long way to go, but direction is forward (or up?).
