Feeling a bit seedy as my old Dad used to say, the reason? Overdoing the chocs this evening, Thorntons and now never wish to see another box ever again.🤢

Not chocs but my family know I enjoy the occasional Baileys, as I told them all not to buy me anything this year as I really don’t need anything more, they all arrived with a litre bottle.
So now I have 5 litres !!
Next year I really must come up with some ideas 🤣🤔.

No one mentioned my favourite Chocolate Ginger

Agree - once a year to remind self I really don't like over sweet chocolate - pay more, buy better, eat less. Roll on 2025

Oh my word, yes! Went a bit OTT this year. I always get the Hotel Chocolat wreath - the smaller of the 2, I hasten to add! I also ordered a lot of Pick n Mix Lindor balls directly from Lindt which never, ever came - long story, worst customer service ever BUT I did get my money back, so I bought several big boxes & the odd smaller one from Amazon, plus we've had chocolate gifts eg Monty Bojangles, they are just so scrummy. My excuse for eating a lot is the sooner they're gone, the sooner the diet can start. We're going away for winter sun on March 1st, can I be swimsuit ready in the time....?? Maybe that's a cue for another thread? How to lose 3 stone in 8 weeks?? Ideas anyone?? grin

I ate a whole box of chocolates while watching The Split last night. It was the first night I had been back in my own home after staying with family over Christmas. Comfort eating??

Skydancer Mon 30-Dec-24 12:30:35

Weighed myself this morning. Odd that a previously perfectly functioning pair of scales should have become faulty over the Christmas period. smile

I didn't have a single chocolate in the house, so eaten none. However, I still have 3 large pieces of cheese; one of Brie, 2 of Cambozola.

Two boxes of Lidl's seashell chocs with 3rd just opened, aided and abetted by DH who is setting up blind tasting this pm involving Guylian version...and then there is the pud and the Cake not to mention the Stollen......

love0c Mon 30-Dec-24 12:55:45

Yes, far too many!! We both decided last night that once we had had our evening meal we would eat nothing else till morning. We succeeded! We will do the same tonight again ha ha.

love0c Mon 30-Dec-24 12:56:26

PS Lindt are our downfall!

omega1 Mon 30-Dec-24 12:56:41

I don't think people realise what a rip-off tins of biscuits are. You get far more biscuits in a packet than you do in a tin and really you are paying so much more just for the tin

Allira Mon 30-Dec-24 12:58:20

I like a nice tin 😀

I have quite a collection.

Oh dear, yes. The piles are gradually getting smaller, but I had half a dozen flavoured Niederegger marzipans for breakfast today. After a healthy smoked salmon salad for lunch, I headed for the Celebrations, but all the Galaxies, Snickers, and Bounties have gone so I could resist. Only to have a huge wedge of leftover fudge cake and cream, followed by a touch of heartburn (serves me right).

I’m planning on making some Ferrero Rocher cupcakes in January due to the excessive amount we received this year. Can’t face another chocolate today. Plus we ended up with two full cheesecakes yesterday both the same flavour. We ate half of one and gave the rest to DS2 to take to his in laws today.

I was in a supermarket before Christmas and I saw a large assorted tin of Lindor Balls half price at £6. Considering the price of a box of them I thought it well worth buying. And there is still about half left. I've given all the white chocolate ones away as I think it's a crime to call that white stuff chocolate, chocolate should be different shades of brown!!

jobieP Mon 30-Dec-24 15:36:57

Seadragon I bought a luxury stollen today in Aldi.

jobieP Mon 30-Dec-24 15:42:24

Accidentally pressed post. Start again. I bought a luxury stollen in Aldi today. It is delish! Rich and fruity and covered in almonds.
Was 4.99 now 3.99. Much better than the sugar coated one.

I love chocolates but this year I only got some chocolate cherry liquors and some plain lindors. Actually tongue is getting a bit sore so I had better eat them all now! Hahaha!

whywhywhy Mon 30-Dec-24 16:16:52

Coconut lindors are great and I got mine from Amazon.

Oo no missdeke, I love the white Lindor balls, they're so creamy! I didn't think I'd like the strawberry ones but they were extremely acceptable, although salted caramel are my favourite. To be truthful, I wouldn't turn my nose at any of them but I'd really enjoyed choosing the balance of pick & mix ones I wanted, only to not receive them & have to go for pre boxed !

grannybuy Mon 30-Dec-24 18:17:13

Bear in mind that there’s a lot of plant food in chocolate!

I like the plain choc ones best and to be honest I don't like any white chocolate really I find it to sweet and sickly and not at all chocolatey. I gave them all to my daughter so I'm sure someone has eaten them all by now so not wasted.

Lilyflower Mon 30-Dec-24 22:38:08

I have bought a tub of Tesco’ Clubcard price Celebrations down from £6 to £4.50 every week since the promotion started in November. We are not bingeing them but you never know when the Apocalypse will begin and you might need a final treat.

Actually, I don’t think there are any left so it might as well start now.

Chris5640 Wed 01-Jan-25 16:09:53

I will be eating them for months. Between us we have 17boxes of them , Thontons, M & S, FerreroRoche, Chocolate mint sticks, chocolate ginger and the list goes on!!!!
