Feeling a bit seedy as my old Dad used to say, the reason? Overdoing the chocs this evening, Thorntons and now never wish to see another box ever again.🤢

Another one not fussed about chocolate, I’ve eaten three Lindor, that’ll probably be it. MrJ has picked at the QS tub, full one of Heroes still untouched.

Must be the first year in my life since I’ve had teeth I’ve not eaten a mince pie.

petal53 Sun 29-Dec-24 09:23:48

I haven’t eaten any chocolate this Christmas - yet!

Somehow not in the mood this year to eat too much.

Think I have learnt from previous years that what goes on, I then need to take off.
And the taking off takes so much more effort than the putting on.

But speak to me again in about a week, and I may be telling a different story.

I wish! I have been very generous to others but have had very little to take home. Perhaps it’s for the best as I have been putting on too much weight, little loss despite efforts to do so.

me and OH polished off a tub of Heroes in one go but to be fair they really are measly portions these days, a total rip off for the price. years ago it was rare for my parents to be able to afford a tin of chocs and they were tins in those days but they would last weeks.
I had so many mince pies but I do love them plus biscuits.
do settle something I was thinking about; I am sure years ago Family Circle biscuits were in proper metal tins and two layers of yummy biscuits. had one this Christmas and it was a flimsy cardboard box with one layer and to be honest not that many either, i am very disgusted to be honest we could have done better buying a few ordinary packets. more variety too. used to be some great trays you could buy with them in too oh and dont get me started on Woolworth's loose biscuits either

I think my family are sending me a message because very little temptation in my gifts from them. Hardly any chocolate or wine! Just a few biscuits which really are my downfall but I haven't even eaten all them!

I have to say I am going into the New Year feeling pretty good, although I'm spending New Year with family so maybe this will be my chance!!

I don't think we over did them here - I deliberately avoided buying the usual couple of tubs but then I won one in a raffle. That tub was finished last evening and there's no more chocolate in the house; well, I haven't hidden any but I can't speak for MrA hmm

My downfall is mince pies and shortbread. Like others i will eat swiftly to get them gone!!!
Chocolates and other goodies being donated to one of my social groups to use at tea breaks.

I am another who doesn’t like chocolate that much so few rolls buy or give them to me I can manage one here or there but never ever buy chocolate
Now crisps is a very different story I love crisps, prawn crackers, pop corn but chocolates no you have them

I worked with a lady who ate a ton of chocolates every night and she lived to 101 ,
Me I’ve overindulged in a box of hotel chocolate s and feel great this morning

teabagwoman Sun 29-Dec-24 07:05:07

I’m with Monica and Nana8. Not so much chocolate but Turkish Delight and shortbread.

Aveline Sun 29-Dec-24 07:01:46

Phew. It's not just me then!

droopydraws Sun 29-Dec-24 06:59:31

It's amazing how much damage a few days of eating chocolate, cake and biscuits can do. Nothing fits anymore. Maybe my jeans shrunk in the wash.
So easy to put on, but oh so difficult to get off again.
I will raise a glass to your good elf and maybe get a gym membership for myself. Will probably end up just using the vending machine. Oh dear!

M0nica Sat 28-Dec-24 23:32:24

I do not like chocolate very much, but I have just eaten a (small) box of Lindt chocolates. I think I ought to feel guilty, but like Nanna8 I feel that the sooner the sweets are all consumed, the sooner I can start to take action to lose the extra pundage eating them has put on.

I've only got three of the eight left, but only eating five is just not putting in the effort.

I can usually polish off loads.

Ferrero Rocher are my downfall and I had loads for Christmas 🤷‍♀️ I’ve also just eaten two mars ice cream, absolutely delicious 😂

I've got three of the big trays of Ferrero, and a little pack with 8 in, because everyone was worried that nobody had bought me any. smile

Exactly!! 😂
I bought the eight for myself…😁

I'm not fussed about chocolate. However I have over indulged in wine, crisps, sausage rolls and buffet food and what a lovely time I had.

I ate far too many chocolate brazils!!

Nuts are good for you.

That reminded me, my MIL always used to buy me a box of chocolate brazils.

MissAdventure Sat 28-Dec-24 22:28:40

Sadly, I've not overdone anything this year.
I'm most disappointed in myself.

merlotgran Sat 28-Dec-24 22:20:11

I don’t have a sweet tooth but I’ve discovered M&S chocolate caramel mini bites. They’re gluten free so that’s my excuse for hogging the whole tub.

smarties are my drug of choice. I try to suck 'em but nearly always end up crunching. I've lost count of how many tubes I bought.
