Just heard Johnnie Walker DJ died today. Loved sounds of the 70s on Sunday afternoons and remember his drive time show back in the day and the lunch time charts show when I was still at school
Bob Harris on Radio 2 now remembering him
Lots of tears 😢

My favourite DJ. So sad to hear this announced by Bob Harris this afternoon, but not unexpected.

RIP Johnnie

Aww, so sad to hear this. He didn't get long after his last show. Lovely memories of his lunchtime show, 50 years ago when DS1 was a baby. I loved his quiz, Pop the Question.
R.I. P. Johnnie Walker.

Really sad news but I thought Bob Harris did an amazing tribute to him, especially as the news of Jonnie's death broke when Bob was live on air. I too remember his lunchtime show when my DD1 was a baby and then later on he and Sally Traffic accompanied me on my long commute home. Lovely, happy memories. RIP The Pirate thanks

Rest in peace Mr Walker. I enjoyed your radio programme until it was horribly interrupted by your wife, who seemed to think she was the star of the show. Thank you though for your good energy & knowledge & may you now rest peacefully . 🤔
