Have you ever used it? What did you think?

I tried to order today and found that online offers are ambiguous. So I deleted my order. Back to Tesco.

I've used occasionally. When I had COVID back in 2021 it was the only place I could get an order for the next day. As I had planned to shop that dai didn't have much in and I thank them for that order.

We've used them a lot. They've been great. Free delivery if you spend a certain amount. However, nowadays we usually go into the shop on Tuesday and get the over 60s discount.

Kate do you load some money on your bonus card, you can get another 5 percent that way, you put £20 on the card and it is topped up to £21.

Kate1949 Fri 03-Jan-25 21:57:50

No. I no longer put money on my bonus card as I was scammed out of it last year. You just need to show the cashier your bonus card to get the over 60s discount.

We used it when we were housebound during the pandemic. It was the only place where we could get a delivery. They were reliable with keen prices. Unfortunately where we now live, they don’t deliver, otherwise I’d continue to buy from them. We use Tesco Waitrose and Lidl now.

I think you also need to show evidence of your age too, Kate. Last year I realised even though I showed my Bonuscard, I wasn't being given Tuesday discount, so I always show my bus pass too now.

Kate that's a shame. I put money on my card and shop on Tuesdays so I get both. I also got a bonus before Christmas, I think it was £5. It all helps.

Chardy is right you do need id.

I used to regularly use it, but my last shop came with bleach leaking out of its bottle and into the food.

Nothing could be done, because apparently I should have taken photos.
I was so, so angry, that I've never used them since.

I found them fine for my needs before that, though.

I use them as a top up occasionally and have found them reliable. You can usually book the next day and delivery is free with a minimum spend of £40.00.

The have a range of fresh food which is OK and they stock a range of dry good, groceries as well. I don't buy their frozen stuff for which they are famous.

I find their range of other stuff limited, compared with other online supermarkets, but adequate for top ups.

Chardy. In our Iceland you don't need proof of age. You did at first but they don't bother now. I just ask if I can get the discount, show my bonus card and that's it. I must look very old!

Thanks. I think I will have another look at the website. I found it so confusing I asked my son who runs an online business to do the order for me and he found discrepancies concerning multiple buys of Heinz soup. Also it was difficult to attain the amount I'd have to spend to get the value of the discounts.

Tesco Whoosh would have done the same job better as you get your orders there within threequarters of an hour or less ----at a cost----but you don't have to spend £££s on stuff you don't need.

I still like very much the wide selection of frozen stuff---much better and cheaper than Tesco. I will ask my carer to buy frozen stuff at Iceland local shop.

That was horrid about the bleach Miss A.

Tesco has always been a pleasure to deal with about any complaint and the online helpers (who I guess work in a call centre in Greenock just a guess) , are literally a pleasure to talk to. As a matter of fact, I have thought the west Scotland call centre would make a great soap opera!

I think you may find, at the point of checkout, that there are reminders "four for £3. You only need add one more to complete this offer. Add now"?

I'm fairly sure there is something like that.

Nano14 Sat 04-Jan-25 15:33:02

Yes, it can be a bit confusing, but as someone else mentioned, it does come up as 'you've got it' or 'one more needed to get it'. The bill can look odd as well, making you think the offers haven't been done when they have. I'm getting more used to it and I think it's worth persevering. I love some of the 3 for £10 offers. Most of my basket is filled with them along with some 2 for £5 offers.

MissAdventure Sat 04-Jan-25 15:40:06

Yes, and you don't need to buy 4 of the same thing, either.

They'll make up deals on a starter, a main dish, a side order, and some ice cream, for example.

I think I wasn't getting discount those few weeks I mentioned because it was a new employee on the till, sticking to the letter of the rules.

Maybe it depends if they get to know you. I shop at a Food Warehouse which is a big Iceland and the last few times I've been in Ive been served by staff Ive never seen before. They always want to see if.

theworriedwell Sat 04-Jan-25 18:27:03

Id not if.
