Dancing Queen?

A catchy tune from the 60’s came on the radio while I was making lunch, so I had a little dance around the kitchen, like you do.
My aching legs have just reminded me I’m not a 16 year old, dancing at the Twisted Wheel as I imagined I was earlier.
Any others out there not growing up yet?

I remember it, loved it, danced to it ... and wish I still could.

I regularly dance with my GCs to ABBA, two are toddlers, the other one year old at the end of this month but they know how to bop to the actual song Dancing Queen, and the rest. They get very serious about it. My oldest at two and half said that nana dances like a cat. Not sure what he means but I'll take that as a compliment.

Dolly, is the the Twisted Wheel In Manchester? I used to go there. Happy times!

Yes! That’s the one, I used to go to the all-nighters with my gay friend Joe, we’d dance all night on just one Coke, then first train home from Victoria at 6 in the morning.
Happy days 😊

Wow same as me! I loved the all nighters! Do you remember Oasis and Mr Smiths?

Haha! Yes, I do 😊
What happy times they were!
I used to work in a fashion showroom on Market Street, me and a girl in the next office used to run through Piccadilly Gardens on our lunch hour, down to a place called Taki’s on Oxford Street and dance all lunchtime, eating our lunch on the hoof, no wonder we were skinny as rakes.

Yes, often try to dance around the kitchen still until my knees or breathing or back remind me I’m 66

I'm a huge jazz fan (that's a fan who's hugely fond of jazz, not a jazz fan who's huge -- oh, I've just looked at my waistband and seen the inaccuracy of that....). Anyway, I often leap about , sing along and make a terrible racket, and it's even worse if I've got one of my favourite CDs playing. Dance, lady, dance. We'll all be a long time dead.

I frequently dance around my house when a good tune comes on. Where would we be without it?

Dance as long as you can and if you can’t tap your feet and nod your head, it makes you feel alive.

Danced the night away on New Year's eve, the first time in a long time and boy did I know about it the next day!!!

I am a great ABBA fan and still dance to all their music with as much enthusiasm as I did back in the day. But a close runner these days is the Bee Gees, Saturday Night Fever, 1970s, because I just have to stand on the spot and wave my right arm skywards!
