Do artists not usually draw from a photo? I did have to do that once with the dog, but the picture didn't quite capture his eyes. I'll take a look.

I agree Aveline.. a painted portrait could become a family heirloom.. ask at your local art college or life drawing class and see if you like one of the artist's work if you fancy going down that route..

Thanks, I've asked GNHQ to add some camera symbols to the title.
Yes, they take their own photos, but it's not always easy to get both parents standing posing together with the baby - for a special ish occasion.

I thought you meant having a portrait painted. Not very interested in photos. Young people have thousands of selfies and pics of anything and everything they have done.

I fancied offering a baby portrait sitting for DGC.
The sitting fee seemed good value at £45 plus two 5 x 7 prints. Then I thought, hang on a minute, modern parents prefer to have the photos on a USB stick. An additional £330 for 8 pictures, or £594 for all the images!! Pick me off the floor, does anyone know a better cheaper way?
