I have far more clothes than anyone could ever need, I am sorting through my clothes prior to a house move.

I have nothing red, purple or yellow.

Are there colours you avoid and why?

Oops! I have a
long term love of purple .
My all time favourite colour is green .
I wear it a lot and I also love green flowers and green things in the house.
It's one thing that I've shared with my mum

I love mustard and emerald green, also deep purple and blues of any shade.
Will only wear black or grey if accompanied by colour.
I will wear pink but again only if accompanied by other colours.

I can't wear mustard yellow .
It makes me look jaundiced .
Any colour which doesn't suit you will make dark shadows appear under your eyes .
I'm not fond of peach shades and I dislike bright pink .
Neither am I a fan of orange .
I seldom wear blue unless it's denim .
I love cream , camels and chocolate .
I have a long yerm

Never wear yellow

I will wear some shades of most colours, but I never wear black unless I can wear it with something else colourful e.g. black jeans with a colourful top. I own very few black items of clothing. I have one black dress. I love the style, but haven’t worn it for 4 years. At least it’s there for a funeral.

There is a psychology of colour and I just don’t feel myself in black.

Yellow and Orange - I just don't like them.
White because I'm paranoid that it makes my less than pearly teeth look even yellower!

When I buy clothes I hold them up to my face and look in.the mirror. The colour either suits or doesn't. Certain shades of any colour either suit or don't. I never wear black.

Yellow and orange. They make me look like a cadaver.

Eirlys Wed 15-Jan-25 15:36:56

Purple, mauve, mustard, light grey.

I generally avoid greens and orange as I just don't like them and I prefer bright vibrant colours to pastels. Many years ago I made a top in a jade green silk which my MiL bought for me in Hong Kong. It wasn't a fabric I'd have chosen and I struggled to find a pattern I could make from the quantity she bought. The top had been unworn for years as I'd put on weight but I got it out recently having lost a lot of weight. I received many compliments when I wore it for a concert I was singing in, including one from a man I'd never met before who said how nice it looked! I'd never have chosen the fabric but clearly the colour (and style) suits me!

I never wear any shade of pink, purple or lavender, nor pale blue.

Beige, because it makes me disappear !

Salmon pink drains me.

Salmon pink is an odd colour & it's probably best to just let the fish have it all to their fishyselves. Strangely, it really suits them! 🥴

Dark purple, burgundy, bright orange and dark brown although I quite like a minky brown. I just don’t like them, not sure if it’s because they don’t suit me. Favourite colour is most of the blue spectrum.

I would never wear anything in beige, brown or yellow.

sandelf Wed 15-Jan-25 13:55:38

Brown - strait back to school uniform - feel imprisoned.
Red - reminds me of blood and accidents.
Real eggy yellow - just wrong on me.

Never wear navy, dark grey or dark purple near my face as it brings out the black shadows round my eyes. I have dark brown hair and green eyes and wear a lot of 'autumn' colours - olive green, chestnut, rusts but like to have white near my face to brighten it up a bit. I avoid most pastels but have found that lilacs and peaches suit me.

stillawipp Wed 15-Jan-25 13:46:58

I had my colours analysed in my late 30s and I was ‘diagnosed’ as a winter, which was absolutely right for me, so I avoid mutes autumnal shades and go for strong jewel like shades of most colours. Only one I really can’t wear is yellow of any type!

fifeywifey Wed 15-Jan-25 13:36:06

Beige

MamguL Wed 15-Jan-25 13:21:54

Black, white and pastels. The white and pastels is about staining and being able to chuck it all in the same wash load. Then I added black, because after buying practical colours for years I ended up with an almost entirely black wardrobe, which wasn't very cheery

Lizzie44 Wed 15-Jan-25 13:21:49

Shades of blue/ aqua/ green are my colours of choice nowadays. Don't like navy - it's about 65 years since I left school but I still associate navy with school uniforms. My mother used to wear brown a lot - skirts, suits, handbags, shoes usually in what was known in her day as n-word brown.

Norah Wed 15-Jan-25 13:18:36

No yellow, mustard, orange, tan, cream, brown, olive green, peach, apricot, salmon. I'm a pale, blue eyed blonde (now silver) I prefer black, white, navy, grey, azure blue, aqua, cornflower, cerise, pink, burgundy, purple.

She777 Wed 15-Jan-25 13:14:57

Orange and red, they look awful on me.
