I don’t wear red …. In fact avoid the colour in all things if I possibly can and it’s mainly down to my football team .MCFC is blue and rival teams are red tho believe the colour has never suited me anyway 😄
Don’t wear pastels, white, beige or brown, and seldom blue or navy. I like slightly off colours such as rust, mustard, aubergine, sage, grey. I do wear various shades of green and red, and also like pink and purple, and occasionally orange and black.
I can't wear any of the colours that are in the shops at the moment, maroon, brown, mustard and bottle green. They just drain any colour from my face. My whole wardrobe consists of all shades of blue and red. So turquoise and cerise are included. I do own black trousers but always wear with a bright coloured top or scarf.
I never wear black or white they make me look ill.
I had my colours done a long time ago and I am a warm autumn so never wear very pale pastels like pink or powder blue either.
I look good in dark/mid greens , red, brown, rust and some oranges/peaches, mustardy type yellow, I can also wear navy as long as it’s with a brighter colour and turquoise/dark teal. I realised even before I had the colours done I often had been wearing similar colours. I look especially good in red.
I do not wear any shade of blue. I do not dislike the colour, just not on me, similarly with grey. I notice most responders have cited yellows, browns, mustard, greens etc., as no-nos, and these are the colours that I like and suit. Retail outlets are obviously well aware of this as I often cannot find what I want in colours I like, but plenty blue on show.
I don't like black dresses. I certainly don't wear them for funerals now though I did when my mother said I should when dad died to keep the peace but that was the last time. In my view black can wash out fair skin colour and I look drained. I like bright colours but I admit to wearing black trousers and tees with colourful scarves occasionally
When I got my colours done I was described as a Summer, which feels right to me. As I’ve aged I think I’m better on the slightly stronger summer shades rather than very pale pink, blue, lilac etc. I love bright pink, bright coral, jade, aqua, which work ok for me. I’m really not good with bright royal blue or strong greens and definitely not yellow. I do wear black as long as it’s not a high neckline, and if it’s softened by a scarf or a T-shirt showing. I don’t like brown on me.
Pastels and beige just don’t suit me at all, and I haven’t worn yellow since I was chased round a carpark and back into the car by a swarm of wasps when I wore a lovely vivid yellow summer dress back in the 80s.
I can't wear white or any variation thereof and similarly brown or beige colours. I look equally awful in red or pink but purple/lilac/mauve really suit me. As does green or blue. I can also wear shades of yellow.
The only colour I really don’t like and can’t remember ever having worn it is yellow. I don’t know why but I haven’t gone grey even though I’m 70+. My hair is still very dark so I can wear most colours. I wear a lot of grey with some colour but I also love bright colours. My favourites are pink, salmon, pale blue navy/white and red. I also love black and purple. I need to have a big clear out.
I look like a walking corpse in yellow, mustard, peach or orange - my hair is now silver and my eyes are hazel, so you'd think warm colours would suit me but although I can wear a darkish red/burgundy, scarlet looks dreadful on me. I like pale pink but not fuchsia, and pretty well all the shades of blue look good, especially turquoise.
spabbygirl - with the exception of beige the colours I don't choose to wear are because I'm not a fan of them. I think probably they look fine but just aren't "me".
I wear whatever I fancy whenever I fancy and sod whether it suits me or not, having said that I really don't like bright colours as my eyes are a bit tender and it hurts them, I find that woman on Ch4, the glucose goddess, wears horribly bright clothes which make my eyes sore but she is is doing a great job educating us about food, she's taken over where fab Dr Moseley left off, sadly.
I prefer not to wear beige, taupe, off white, black. dark brown or navy next to my face. I love bright colours like turquoise, coral, bright yellow (but it has to be the "right" shade). I can make most colours work with the right necklace or scarf but never, ever, beige.
BROWN.....🤮always hated it. Never owned anything brown or Mustard..🤢
Did you have brown school uniform? I’m sure that’s the reason I never consider brown - not even ‘nice’ browns - our school uniform brown certainly wasn’t nice!
