Good morning from s somerset, it should be a nice day today

I went to the plot yesterday, three hours during the afternoon. It is so calming up there and all I think of is the current job and this and that about what to do next

It is not called the green gym for nothing, so much heavy lifting, bending and then the 100m walk to the car with a hugely heavy bag over my shoulder which gave me the aerobics. Soon I will be at the point of not needing to bring heavy things back home and then I will just ride my bike up there

Sleep was not so good last night, it must have been gardening aches. so today I am having a rest day but a tip run first

Have a good day

Morning all from West Oxfordshire.

I must get up soon as I have an early dental appointment in a nearby town. Hopefully he won’t do anything as it’s our monthly U3A lunch club! This is at a small village pub just a few minutes drive away. Afterwards I will get things ready for tonight’s WI meeting. The speaker will talk to us about circus skills. Should be fun.

Have a good day and don’t overdo it GM.

Good morning from W Kent. Yesterday’s U3A talk about the BBC was amusing but the church we meet in was really too cold for our age group.
Today I am off to a small art group at our local garden centre and then a visit to a DF, DH will get a quiet day to catch up with correspondence.
Best wishes

Good morning everyone from mid Essex. It’s 9 degrees according to my garden thermometer, still dark and looks damp out. I had another walk yesterday, but may give it a miss today as my hip is aching. I’m finally trying to go down the stairs “ normally” instead of one step at a time. Slow progress with this hip.
*mizuna” lovely photo! I’m envious, although probably would prefer it to be a bit warmer!
grand mattie take it easy this week, don’t be tempted to do too much at the FAB cafe!
I shall do some ironing today, and some admin. DD2 may call in later.
Have the best day possible everyone.

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders where it's still dark and not too cold.
I slept better. I'm going to try yarn group today. There's a stairlift if necessary but I should manage the stairs.
My neighbour sent a photo of last night's red sky from her house.
I love your beach Mizuna

Glad your 2nd cataract was well done gMattie. Follow the instructions and enjoy the improved sight.
I'm having an assessment tomorrow for my 2nd one.

Hoping everyone has some joy today.

monk08 Wed 15-Jan-25 07:09:54

Good morning all from the Black country.
Early start today I'm on playgroup duties, have been asked if I can cover the next 3wks.
Mizuna lovely photo and what a delightful way to be reading your book.
grandMattie pleased all went well.
Have a good day everyone whatever your plans ☀️.

Good morning all. Still dark outside but 10deg. dry and sunny is todays forecast in Glasgow.

Thankfully it’s dry today as my new shed arrives this morning. I am using the same company who built my new, larger, garden room last year, a friendly, helpful father and son company whose quotes were favourable compared to other, extortionate quotes for the same good quality, insulated builds. It was a good opportunity to clear out various bits and pieces I no longer have any use for. A change of bed linen today too with a perfect day to hang washing outside. I love the smell of fresh bed linen to climb into at bedtime.

Pleased to hear your procedure went smoothly GM. Good decision to take things easy. Whatever needs done will still be there when your eye has healed.
Enjoy your tennis viewing Bella…the ironing can wait.
The photo of your local beach was an uplifting sight this morning Mizuna sunshine and blue skies rather than the snow and frost, a hint that spring is on its way.

Have the best day possible all.

Good morning, Michael and all GNs from a very foggy South Yorkshire. I looked out at six o’clock and it was quite clear. Half an hour later and you couldn’t see your hand in front of your face. I slept for nine hours straight last night.
Writers group at the library this afternoon and a dip into M&S while at the mall.
Have the best day you can, folks.

Good morning all from a very dark morning in North Yorkshire. Well done grandMattie, so glad all went well, but now is the hard bit! Sticking to avoid bending etc, Becuae you feel better it is tempting to "just" pick that up and just do this. When the firswt thing goes ok you are tempted to do more. NO, No take care , you would be so mad with yourself if you had to go back.
Excuse any spelling mistakes, I dont know why but the screen is very dul and cant make it better to read. Annoying! Well I was shattered after yesterday. It was up early, take drings with me and then get off to the church, I have sung there many times and there is very little space nearby to park, especially with a funeral as they reserve places for the hearse and family cars et. I wa in a lot of pain with my back and really struggling despite painkillers, but I needed to be there from respect to the man who had died and also to his wife who I sang with.So a lot of snow and ice about and it was take care on the way there, but he was very well known and popular and I worked with him on the Swaledale festival so many many people coming, so parking difficult and I just couldnt walk far but anyway got there. The church was full, and of course many of us from the swaledale singrs, so the service went very well and all the singing was in 4 part harmony and sounded lovely. After awful weathr and -5 all the day before the sun shone for most of the day. We went to the local Reeth Memorial Hall afterwards and for me it was lovely to see many people from the choir I hadnt seen for a long time with the debackle of flat. Anyway it was a wearying day but glad I went. Came home meaning to start cooking and promptly fell asleep until after 9pm so everything in a mess. I have to go out early today and am already feeling very tired and see all the ironing still not touched. So fingers crossed, I have had contact with a lady who I hope is going to come and clean a bit for me. It feels decadent as always done my ow cleaningetc, but it as got to the stage that things like turning the mattress over and when my back is bad my hoover is very good but it hurts to use it. So i already feel weary before the day starts, and hope that next week will just be a boring ordinary week and I can catch up with things. Have a good day everyone and make sure you do somethingnice for yourselves today!!

Good morning from south Glos, a mild start to Wednesday here too.
I had a lovely catchup with my friend yesterday over coffee and breakfast at a garden centre. I refrained from buying anything for once!
This morning the dog has her regular check up at the vets, she hates that car so I don’t look forward to that but but DH will come too. He has suggested I drop him and the dog off in a village on our way back so she gets a long walk.
Then it’s housework for me!
Lasagna and salad for dinner 😋
Please take it quietly grandMattie 🤗
Have a nice day everyone 🌹

GrannyGravy13 Wed 15-Jan-25 06:56:59

Good morning it’s 7° here in S E Essex, nearly t-shirt weather 😹

Gym this morning, then I hope to visit a poorly friend.

The 9yr old is sleeping over tonight, as his early morning school start has changed.

Take things easy gM 🌸

Have a good day folks 🙋‍♀️

Morning Mick, morning All from a damp, misty corner of Somerset.

The car behaved impeccably yesterday, gold star from its MoT. That photo is beautiful, mizuna, just grey cloud and some fine drizzle here with a repeat this morning. No matter, we’ve a chatty, cheerful one ahead with neighbours, (far too many) biscuits and coffee.

Pleased all went well yesterday grandmattie, you’re wise to take things gently for a few days.

Hope Wednesday is kind to us all.

kittylester Wed 15-Jan-25 06:46:20

Good morning all from a milder North Leicestershire.

Another 'crack of dawn' morning for us. DH has a volunteer drive pick up at 8 am in Melton Mowbray. Our cleaner will arrive at 9 and I'll do some admin in the study.

Have best day possible everyone.

Oopsadaisy1 Wed 15-Jan-25 06:45:58

Good morning, don’t know what the weather is like but it was a foggy evening when MzOops arrived, a day earlier than we had planned.

We had good coffee and cake yesterday at Lechlade Garden Centre, we had to sit out in the sunshine as we had the dog with us but the scones were lovely and so huge, we ate one between us and MissOops took the other one home. It’s the only place she can buy the food for the dog who has multiple allergies. Most things were on Sale too so it was very busy.

MzOops is here until February when she goes off to house sit so I need to go shopping for Vegan food, that will be fun……

Have a good day everyone, please don’t over do it so soon GM

Mizuna Wed 15-Jan-25 06:17:53

Good morning from a calm, mild Cornwall with sun promised all day. Yesterday I stretched out on my local beach with a book. A Little Egret was wading through the rock pools; first time I've seen one on that beach.

Today I'm off to the craft session in another town's library and then will bus back to my eldest son's house to do the Wednesday school pick-up. Back home later on a bus no doubt full of happy students on their way to the pubs. 😁

grandMattie Wed 15-Jan-25 06:15:15

I forgot.

I decided to just leave the old mattress on its side in the spare room. When I’m able, I’ll get a charity to pick it up, together with the bed (when DD decides to give me the one she doesn’t use)

The mattress is wonderful, neither too soft (the problem with the previous one) nor too hard (DH’s preference).

grandMattie Wed 15-Jan-25 06:06:57

Good morning from Bristol.
May I start by thanking you all for your kind words regarding. cataract. I was very touched.
Firstly, DS has just called to say he’s just signed a contract with another UWC college, this time in Tanzania, at the foothills of Kilimanjaro, starting in September! Marginally closer, but equally inaccessible. Ah well!
My operation went well, though I was the last of 6 to have my eye done. I don’t know how w3 were chosen but it was neither alphabetical nor chronological. The surgeon was very nice and told me what was going on and answered my questions during the operation. A change from the last eye, when I was treated like a lump of meat…
I came home 6 hours after leaving, with my eye shield and no glasses. As I’m very shortsighted in my “good” eye, sight was a bit of a problem, but I managed.
My eyeball is still a bit sore but paracetamol helps. My sight seems better and the floaters and dazzling are mercifully absent. The eye shield isn’t obtrusive during the night.
Today. I shall still take charge of the FAB cafe, but giving orders and taking things easy. I’ve got something in the afternoon but shall probably give that a miss. In fact, I think I shall take the rest of the week quietly.
I hope that everything goes smoothly for all. Carpe diem 🦩🦩🦩🦩

Good morning on another cold day in the Sarthe.

Thank you for all the good wishes for my DD2’s birthday yesterday. I enjoyed reading the resulting reminiscences about weather when offspring arrived.

I hope grandMattie is recovering well from her cataract surgery and all is as well as possible for others with ailments.

Lovely to be in Spanish sunshine, brook2704! Enjoy! 🌞

Happy hump day! 🦩💐🦩🥰🦩

Good morning from Malta where it is wet, windy, grey and not very warm.

I’ve been up since 3.30 watching the tennis but I’m flagging and think I will go back to sleep for a couple of hours.

I’ve got a stack of ironing to do later and need to go out at some point.

Hoping for a good day for all.☀️
