What dreadful news this morning. Pauline was diagnosed with dementia in 2021 her husband has disclosed.

She is so young, only 65.

I can only wish her and her family all the very best.

We share the sane first name, and an accent very similar, especially when listening to my voice recording/ answerphone etc.

So sorry to hear of the diagnosis.

I have enjoyed many of the roles she played.

I wonder why so many people are suffering from this. There must be a common factor.
Actors have to learn scripts and lines, which surely exercises their minds. So the theory that it is caused by mental stagnation would seem to be untrue.

One explanation is that we have got better at diagnosing it.

I, too, am very sorry to hear this. Dementia is a cruel disease.

Lovely woman. Sorry and sad to hear about her on the news.

That is such sad news I remember listening to her talk about how supportive her mother was. She kept her mother’s handbag tucked behind the sofa (the same way her mother did).

Then she chose the song ‘wind beneath my wings’ - I wept sad

Oh no! Such sad news.

I like her, she seems like a decent person. So sorry.

My brain is fuddled and overloaded, I think I need to be more vigilant around my health.

That is sad news.

A friend of ours was diagnosed when about the same age.
He is physically strong and fit but no longer himself.
It's such a cruel disease.

I've been a ban of Pauline for years, such a gorgeous lady inside and out.

AGAA4 Tue 21-Jan-25 09:52:27

So sad to be diagnosed with this horrible disease and only in her early sixties. I always liked her.

MissAdventure Tue 21-Jan-25 09:46:49

I hope she's still enjoying life, however different it is.
I grew up watching her and Linda Robson.

merlotgran Tue 21-Jan-25 09:46:25

Very sad news.

GrannyGravy13 Tue 21-Jan-25 09:46:14

I feel so much sadness for Pauline and her family, a cruel disease for all concerned.

She has contributed so much to the performing arts and charities.

Louella12 Tue 21-Jan-25 09:45:21

I've always liked her. Quick witted. Love to family and friends

Anniebach Tue 21-Jan-25 09:43:38

I am sad and so sorry

I remember her beautiful performance as Clara Peggotty in David Copperfield. Life can be so cruel.

Very sad to hear this, one of my GD’s attended one of her theatre schools for a while and it helped her confidence enormously. Thinking of her family.

Cruel disease. A champion for those who tipped the scales more than most.

Luckygirl3 Tue 21-Jan-25 09:33:48

That is very sad.

Whiff Tue 21-Jan-25 09:33:35

I was just reading about her. She was always a versatile actor. Loved Maisie Raine and she was brilliant in Broad church. Very eerie in the Sculptures. Never like birds of a feather .

Glad her programme for performaning arts for young people will continue .

Casdon Tue 21-Jan-25 09:33:26

I’m sad to hear this too, dementia is a cruel and indiscriminate disease.

Shinamae Tue 21-Jan-25 09:33:18

So many are falling to this dreadful, dreadful condition…
Very sad for her and her family 💐💐

Grandmadinosaur Tue 21-Jan-25 09:32:35

I was sad to hear that news this morning and yes at such a young age. As well as helping charities she has or had several theatre schools.
Thinking of her and her family. 💐

Primrose53 Tue 21-Jan-25 09:29:29

I am shocked to hear that, really shocked. Very sad.
