Good morning all from the Black country.
Playgroup duty again so early start, will come back and either relax and read or iron depends how busy it's been.
Whiff before my DH had his bypass the consultant told him he would have no warning it would be like switching a light off instant. His first attack he was saved by landing on concrete floor the force of it started his heart again, had he been in a chair the outcome would not be good. He had a second attack again no warning waiting to be discharged from hospital, medics on hand saved him, then straight to theatre for stents.
Happy birthday wishes to your DD Greyduster.
Enjoy the Brummie catch up NannyJan
Enjoy your day everyone whatever your plans , will catch up with everybody's happenings later.☀️

Morning all from a still dark West Oxfordshire,

I’m feeling a bit better this morning. I was in bed at 8pm last night.

Haircut this morning and then nothing!

Have a good day.

Good morning everyone.

I have an assessment for my left hip today. It was last assessed as being moderately affected by osteoarthritis in 2019 and although it’s got worse since it’s not hugely dramatic as I can still walk pretty well most of the time. Putting socks on and cutting toenails has become more difficult though.

FGT2 I hope you are enjoying the Whalebone Theatre. I read it a couple of years ago and liked it a lot. I found it easy to picture scenarios in my head which I don’t always, an example being Slow Horses by Mick Herron (though I love it on TV).

I hope you feel much better soon Whiff.

Wishing you all have a good day and that everyone battens down the hatches, particularly up North before the approaching storm arrives. I thought it rather irresponsible that some parts of the media are forecasting 250mph winds hitting Britain when it was actually the jet stream they were referring to.😂

Good morning from the Essex coast. I think today is going to be wet and miserable ☔️.
I have an early blood test in town then a chest xray at the hospital, luckily DH has volunteered to be my driver.
We may have lunch out afterwards.
I hope you all have a good day, love to all xx

Redcar Wed 22-Jan-25 07:16:55

Good morning everyone from a dark, wet and cold mid Essex.
Yesterday I went for a short drive in my car, the first time I’d driven since before my hip operation. I ached for a while afterwards, but improved later in the day. Saw my friend with dementia in the afternoon, she slept all the time I was there.
DD2 will be working here this morning, it will be nice to have company, although I’ll have to be quiet because she’ll be on virtual meetings all morning.
I have some admin to do and some letters to post, so will need to walk to the post box, even if it’s raining!
Have the best day possible everyone.

Good morning from s somerset, there might be a short pop of sun today

I am getting myself out today, up to my plot, I could do with the work and movement. I was slothful yesterday but made veg juice and nut milk and my kitchen was nice and shiny when I went to bed.

I will be getting one of my ready meals out and my green veg prepped. I know what I am like once I get engrossed on the plot when time flies

Have a good day

Good morning from south Glos, it’s dry and chilly here at the moment.
I don’t have anything planned for today beyond the usual chores and my early dog walk. I will be doing needlework at some point and i want to have a look through my books to see if I have any on Goldwork.
I hope today goes well for you 🌹

gramaretto, all is not lost. I have decided to sew the strips together and use them for random backing squares. But I would rather have been less enthusiastic to be well organised/prepared!

Good morning, Michael and all GNs from a damp South Yorkshire and there will be some fog in the mix later. It’s DD’s birthday today and we are going for brunch somewhere but before I drive over to her I need to get some flowers and candles for a cake I’ve made. She does look forward to a cake. SiL and GS are also at home today so she’ll enjoy a nice day I think. I have writers group this afternoon at the library. I have prepared a sleep inducing essay😴.
Have the best day you can folks!

Cold and rainy here today . Seeing cardiologist this afternoon and hopefully get help with my water retention and breathlessness. Plus find out if I did have a heart attack as they said. I know the cardiac enzyme blood test showed heart muscle damage which meant heart attack but it started my HPX off and past out and my daughter had to tell what happened between passing out and finding myself being undressed on the ward . HPX took me speech for a while luckily my daughter knows everything and I mimed some answers and managed the odd word until I could speak again. All I had was a headache and pain left side of my neck. Treated brilliantly by both hospitals I stayed in for a week .
Had lots of tests, and angiography much to my and the consultants surprise didn't need any stents .
Having taxi there and back as not well enough for buses yet.

Apparently women have different symptoms for heart attack as men. And heart attack symptoms aren't always chest and left arm pain. My dad had 2 both times he was only breathless no pain . So please any odd symptoms get checked out .

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders. Minus 3 here but I flicked the heating on in the middle of the night when my nose was frozen.

I took the bus into Edinburgh yesterday to my favourite fabric shop to buy a pattern and material for my dressmaking class which starts today.
The bus is so infrequent I had to wait in a café for an hour afterwards.
Such a good find!

That's such a shame gMattie about
your squares.

Hoping everyone has a good day.

grandMattie Wed 22-Jan-25 05:46:53

Good morning from Bristol. The temperature will go from a minimum of 3C to the heady heights of 4C today. Still gloomy and grey.
I did something very stupid yesterday. I was preparing the squares for my quilt. I need squares of 4” and 3 1/2”. So I happily cut strips in those dimensions. What I had forgotten was that I need more of 4” than the smaller size. I had done the reverse! 🤬 Panic stations as I had very little of the yellow left, impossible to convert 3 1/2” into 4” sadly.
I called my friendly haberdasher in Sandwich. No more yellow fabric, I’d had the last. 😡 Rats…! So, going through the video call pantomime again, I got something else. It’ll arrive tomorrow.
That will teach me not to”measure twice, cut once”!
Just the FAB cafe this morning, with the remaining brownies and biscuits.
May your day be full of metaphorical ☀️ Carpe diem 🦩🦩❤️🦩

Good morning from Malta where it is still dark but we are promised another sunny day with a high of 20°C.

I shall be getting up to watch the tennis shortly. This afternoon I’m meeting a friend who is over here on holiday so will enjoy catching up with her.

Wishing a good day to all.☀️
