First thank you all for your good wishes for yesterday. Saw my cardiologist. Only slight furring in my right artery thats why I didn't need a stent . Because of no obstacles blocking my heart the consultant could have a good look inside my heart . No sign of heart attack. It seems Torponin levels can rise if you have a stroke. To prevent anymore furring going to put me on a low dose of statin . And discharged me back to my GP care. He thinks I had a mini stroke TIA. So is referring me to a neurologist who deals with strokes. And he hopes I don't have to wait to long for an appointment. Means a MRI on my brain while I don't like but always have them done . Last time I had one on my brain was 2017 . Last time was on my heart. But they are a brilliant tool for detecting the small anomalies . But I am not worried my brother has permanent AF and had 2 TIA's. I have PAF and small hole in the side of my heart I was born with.
Just know next time if I get a headache that wouldn't go with painkillers and pain in the side of my neck get to A&E.
Very wet here today but not going anywhere . So will get on with my cross stitch as already done all my jobs for the day.

Good Morning Thursday 23rd January 2025
(56 Posts)Good Morning Everyone,
Its dark but dry here at the moment in brackley this morning.
My usual morning bus trip to Bicester to shop and maybe chat to people I know.
Had a plumber fix my systern yesterday ,having reported it to the manager of where I live the previous afternoon as it had been dripping .
Health wise OK , take care,
Mick
Good morning or rather Ratty morning!
The day has joyfully started with a big argument about my husband's 'so - called friend'! Hummmm.
He likes to walk with her when taking the dog out & I don't trust him or the dog for that matter! 🤔
💐thinking of all struggling, feeling poorly and with worries.
So sorry Madeleine 💐feel for you. I love reading your posts.
Good morning Mick and all from Cloudy Chambers northwest coast.
After setting out in fog yesterday with DD, we drove into Cheshire and it brightened up. It was interesting to see my old caravan site, now with smart statics and lovely to enjoy a pub lunch in the countryside.
Then a visit to an excellent farm shop with donkeys outside to stock up with some good food.
At home in the evening, my DD, an excellent PA, put my RAC app on my phone, checked my senior railcard was on its way and sent an email to Germany in reply to their communications. I’m due payments from an opera film I participated in years ago.
She leaves for the south today and is such a blessing to me.
Thoughts to madeleine and all🌺
Harri💐.

Good morning from a sunny but nippy morning here on the east coast of Fife. Jack Frost is definitely hovering about and we’re getting a weather warning for Friday it’s going to be windy if you believe the weather forecast.
I’ve been busy organising a funeral for my dear sister in law, dementia is a horrible disease she’s at peace now, it’s her time we’re going to have the best wake yet we’ll have a good knees up with all the family.
Have a safe day my friends be good be careful and smile 😁😁
Thank you all for your kind thoughts and good wishes. I really appreciate them and feel a bit better than earlier on. Sitting on your own on a dark morning is not conducive to dealing with things.
Whenever things are bad and painful in the morning I pin my hopes on 5 to 7. Everything looks so much better with the taste and smell of lovely fresh coffee from a china mug and J S Bach before 7 on radio 3. I now add good morning Mick and GN's for my 3rd cheering thoughts for the morning. I have had to get myself together as I am now waiting for a man!!
Well after the aftermath of the bathroom episode, and having to throw away the carpet, the tiles underneath are not good , some loose, one or two missing and quite dangerous as \I can just catch my foot on the little rise. But as is usual in life you have to go round in circles. So the leasehold hotel stuff has been sorted by one insurer. Now I have to contact my personal insurer for my things , i e the hall carpet. In the beginning no point in contacting them while all the mess was going on. I also wondered if just for a hall carpet it would be better to pay myself and not lose no claim bonus etc, but have swiftly negated that idea by the price of the new stuff and getting it done.
So I hope to use this new LVT i think it is called, but to match what went in the new bathroom as it is easy to clean and the hall is where you step in from outside so gets the dirtiest. But have to see if these tiles have to come up, or they may have to sort of skim it to get a flat surface and now they have said that it is probably more expensive than carpet. so it is juggling balls in the air. I hope that if necessary I can get the insurance to pay what a carpet would cost and I will pay the difference. Anyway cant do anything until this man comes. I tend to be up very early and said that he could come as early as he liked and said that would suit him. well here we are at 9am and no sign and no phone call so dont know what he calls early. ! Ah well, what a shame , It gives me no excuse from getting on with some housework. So I hope that your day goes well everyone and thankyou again for the really lovely messages that has helped me out of the depth today.
Good morning all and the sun has just come through. No wind, rain, frost or snow! (At the moment) !
Bowls club for me this morning and then Dd and little DGD here after school for tea and then Brownies.
Madelaine life can be so tough at times. Keep strong 🙏.
Take care in the wild weather we’re expecting.💨☔️
Good morning Mick and everyone from Carlisle. Grey skies from the back windows, white clouds and blue patches from the front ones. Unfortunately, the weather is coming from the back!
I am trying not to think about the forecast, we have an amber warning for tomorrow and I'm concerned about the joint fence with one neighbour.
I overslept this morning, not a bad thing as I had a period of wakefulness in the night due to acid indigestion. After a month on them, the steroids seem to be irritating my stomach in spite of the PPI I take to prevent that. Might have to consult the doc next week....
Yesterday I was off to Newcastle to the physio, at least one part of my body is doing well but I'm getting very high maintenance these days.
This morning, I shall dispose of the ironing and try to tackle one or two of the little jobs on my list. Then an afternoon of reading and brain training follows.
Madeleine, so sorry you're having such a tough time. I hope you are soon sorted, and, especially, soon able to drive again and get those cataracts dealt with.
Good luck with the weather tomorrow everyone!
Hope that Madeline gets news of her essential op soon - what a dreadful shock and so soon after all the other problems she is dealing with. Life can sometimes be so very unfair.
Grey but still here and I am out to coffee and then a supermarket shop in advance of tomorrow which may well not be as dramatic here in the south west. I hope not, for all our sakes.
Good morning from a dark and dank Black Country
Lovely meet up in Birmingham yesterday.
Today I should be on a group walk, but will give it a miss this week. Rain is supposed to be heavy today!
So it looks like some housework is on the cards. I have made a list and each week will give one room and extra deep clean. Bathroom this week!
Madeline
hope things will be a little brighter for you over the next few days.
Wishing you all the best day possible.
Good morning from a dull dark Essex
Have a good day everyone and good luck to anyone facing challenges today
Good morning from a sdull but still N. Bucks.
This morning I will start to sort my summer clothes which I shall need for a holiday in a couple of weeks.
Sewing club this afternoon I.
It is DGS2s birthday today (9) so shall pop in and see him afterwards. Shall also be introduced to the new hamster which his brother (3) is very excited about. I have been warned that I must be very quiet .
Best wishes to all who are sad, poorly or worried. A god day wished for all with a smile along the way.
Meant to say ‘hi’ to you Jennynanna! 👋
harrigran 💐
Good morning from a drizzly and breezy Oxfordshire, I don’t think we are due any storms, but I guess we need some rain, it’s been so dreary here for ages, but no proper rain.
I feel so much better today, we have the dog until lunchtime, but then we have to get to the bank.
Madeline fingers crossed that you have better news on Monday. And that your mobility scooter gets repaired quickly.
When I had an op on my spine over 20 yrs ago the big supermarkets had just started their home deliveries, I rarely go to the supermarkets anymore, one less thing to worry about, especially at the moment when I can’t drive for weeks on end.
In fact I rarely go shopping, essentials are purchased online and I don’t have the spare cash to constantly buy ‘stuff’ and I don’t enjoy window shopping.
Anyway, I hope everyone manages to have a good day and that the weather conditions for some, turn out to be better than expected.
Good morning all from the Black country.
Haven't read through yet will catch up with everybody's happenings later.
Trip to the bank to change a standing order I don't do online banking, then home to the ironing the book and relax won yesterday after playgroup.
Safe travels those on the move and virtual hugs where needed.
Have a good day everyone whatever your plans ☀️.
Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 2° and slightly damp. Madeleine what a rotten time you are having. Grey duster that poor cake! I'm glad you could laugh about it.
Yesterday I had a very nice chat with the depute head at dgs1's school. Their library is in bad shape and I'm going to help sort it out. I'm going in on Monday morning to begin weeding out the books which are very old and worn out. Then we'll see what's next. I'm feeling very enthused about it. Apparently dgs1's teacher wants me to go in his class too.
Today I have no plans. I will go to Aldi because I've run out of milk. Given the dire forecast for tomorrow, I might as well do my shopping today. Apart from that, a pleasantly quiet day ahead. Some steak casserole for dinner. Have a good day all
Good morning from a dry NE where it does not feel too cold.
Nothing done yesterday, no sleep the night before and in a lot of pain.
No plans for today, don't feel up to doing housework so maybe watch Netflix. Have watched the first series of Riviera so may continue with the next.
Have a good day.
Good morning from cloudy and damp South Lanarkshire.
Madeleine that must have been a shock. Perhaps, as it’s so bad, your wait for surgery will be shorter than usual.
Hope you took a photo your handiwork before disaster struck Greyduster.
I did nothing yesterday, my back was so painful, it did mean I could make a start on crocheting flowers for our yarn group’s spring project. I think it’s a little better today so I will try to keep moving.
Some shopping to be done today. I’m a bit concerned about tomorrow’s weather forecast and wondering if we will be able to drive over to Edinburgh. Anyhoo we will wait and see.
Have the best day possible everyone.
Morning all from West Oxfordshire. I’m having a lie-in. I’m still trying to shake offf a streaming cold I’ve had for a few days. I feel much better today. I managed to get to the hairdresser yesterday - she had a cold too so we didn’t bother putting masks on.
I am going to Kew tomorrow to look after my granddaughter for the weekend.
Have a good day, especially those of you with problems.
Good morning all - a deceptively pleasant one here as the sun rises. But I've already had a message from DS1 to the effect that like him I'm in an amber area and should make sure my hearing aids and phone are fully charged! Bless him.
We'll get our tai chi in before the day deteriorates plus a quick dive into Tesco on the way home, then it's batten down time.
Take care, all of you x
Good morning from Shropshire.Calm at the moment.
Sorry to hear you had such bad new yesterday madeleine.I hope you don’t have to wait too long for a cataract operation and treat your mobility scooter is returned to you asap💐🙏🏻
We are driving down to St David’s today.
