I stopped drinking milk when they started homogensing it in the 1970s as not even full-fat milk tastes as it should, I do drink butter-milk, and I have always used cream in my coffee.
I have never believed all the advice about diet we were given, as it dawned upon me when I was in my twenties, that in the properous decades, potatoes are bad for you, but when a finacially difficult decades start, suddenly there is nothing but recipes for potatoes and pasta in women's magazines.
Butter was bad for us for years, and everything from mayonaise to cheese had to be "light" - now we are told this adulterated provisions are bad for us.
The truth of the matter is perhaps that barring allergies or other health issues we should eat what we want, as long as we do so in moderation.
And in case you are wondering, until I was 50 I weighed 50 kilos, since then I crept up to 56, then back down to 54, so eating butter and full-fat cheese, fat pork and such like hasn't given me a weight problem, presumably because I am one of those who just cannot put on weight, rather than because of what I eat.
