Good morning from a calmer Torbay following a showery day yesterday interspersed with sunshine. Thank you for the welcome - it is good to be back into contributing to this thread after being absent for a week.

After DH’s dental appointment yesterday, we enjoyed a snack in Dunelm where the coffee shop is on the first floor overlooking the ground floor so we enjoy the ambiance (and the coffee!) Wednesday Club beckons at our theatre this afternoon - our first chance to attend since before Christmas.

Get well wishes to those who are struggling, especially Bellasnana and little GS, Bonnybanko and Grammaretto - glad you could see your GP.
I’m glad you had a pleasant evening out, Susan56 after tough times recently.

Happy hump day, everyone! 🦩💐🦩🥰🦩

Good morning all from the Black country, curtains still closed so don't know what the weather is doing but hopefully it's dry after nonstop rain yesterday.
Playgroup duty again today hence the early start.
Happy Anniversary Roses 🥂🍾
Enjoy your day everyone ☀️

Good morning all. Currently 2deg. No cloud, starry skies, dry and a sunny day ahead. I can’t remember when we last had a starry sky.

A trip to Sainsburys at some point for some basic shopping and fill my car with diesel at their petrol station. Something I should have done yesterday but some legal paperwork was delivered yesterday which took priority. Two birds with one stone
2nd day off school for GD2, (15) who has a rotten cold No visits until she is germ free. She FaceTimed me last night sounding blocked up and fed up but is managing to finish off bowls of
Chicken noodle soup aka, Jewish Penicillin so named by Jewish
friends. GD1 (19) baked some fairy cakes to cheer her up.

Karma I love the colour and blend of your yarn. It will be so soft and warm. Will this be the sweater with matching hat and scarf? Alpaca is what I use for knitting and crochet, it’s lovely to work with.

Have a good day all and get well soon to all in the sick bay.

Grammaretto Wed 29-Jan-25 06:50:11

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders. Neither plasterer nor tree surgeon turned up yesterday 😐

I got to see my GP about my post op niggles, so that was helpful.
DS left to go home and apart from my Gaelic homework and the evening class, I did not much.

Today yarn group followed by sewing class.
I need to find some bisque fired pots to glaze and send to the community wood firing this weekend. I am not fit enough yet to take part.

Welcome back Ash!
I hope your family get better soon Bellasnanna. It sounds awful.

DGS began High School yesterday, in NZ. He's getting so tall!

Congratulations on your anniversary Roses

Hope everyone has a good day.

Good morning everyone from a windy , chilly, and dark morning here on the east coast of Fife. Thank goodness the Nora virus appears to has settled at last, I’m still watching what I eat I don’t want that upset stomach coming back. My house is beginning to look like a Chinese laundry , I’ll soon be looking like an egg,
today it will be pasta with chicken broth and Banana sandwiches it’s the BRAT diet I’m on for upset stomachs I’ll need to be well for the funeral coming up, else I’ll not be going..

Thinking of those who might be unwell today. Take care lovely gransnetters

Good morning all. It is 4° in North Leicestershire.

Our cleaner is due at 9 am and DH is off to the gym out of the way. At lunchtime I am taking my friend for an endoscopy.

Have the best day possible everyone.

Good morning from Durham. A mixed day, with a shower expected soon.

Babysitting DGS2 this morning, as SinL has a hospital appointment, then I’ll bring Little Dog back with me for his usual sleepover - no doubt there’ll be a bag of laundry as well for me. At least I’ll be able to walk the dog in daylight later.

Best wishes to all. X

I love the colour of that yarn karmalady, you really are a very talented lady 😍

Good morning, apart from obviously being dark out I haven’t looked to see what the weather is like yet.
More pootling around yesterday, nothing exciting happening here!
I’m going on an art journalling workshop this weekend, back to the mansion near Stroud, so I need to sort out my art materials for that. I’m hoping it won’t be too wet 🤞🏻or cold as we’ll be outside sketching for part of the weekend.
It’s our 48th wedding anniversary today, goodness knows how we got here!
I hope today goes well for you all 🌹

karmalady Wed 29-Jan-25 06:17:43

Good morning from s somerset, perhaps a shower, perhaps not

Busy all day yesterday, up and downstairs and standing a lot, I am satisfied with that, I don`t want to be sitting too much

I am proceeding nicely wrt sorting spinning equipment, I see space appearing, small space but nevertheless is space, in a cupboard

I settled on which spinning wheel to use and brought it downstairs. Took me a while to get ratios etc set up but I took notes as I have a large amount to spin, two ply this time so perhaps 3 jumpers worth (presents) . I took pics of what fluff (tops) looks like and the spinning so far. This fluff is alpaca/merino/silk blend. Bought in 2015

Seems that the weather is on the turn to brighter, I hope so, I want to be outside.

Have a good day

Oopsadaisy1 Wed 29-Jan-25 06:02:23

Good morning from a cold and dark Oxfordshire, the stars are shining in the sky so hopefully we will see some sun after a few very wet days.
Dog is here today so we will have a wander around the village, maybe pop into the bus shelter and see if there are any good books on the shelves to borrow, we only have a school bus going through the village so at least the shelter is being of some use.
Apart from that I will make a fish pie and maybe some flapjack.

Have a good day everyone.

Chilly here in the north west. Joined another exercise class yesterday called Use it or lose it . Had a fun time doing different exercises to my Monday sit fit class and used different bits of equipment. Also last night I went out something I don't normally do. Usually in my pjs after dinner . I joined a litter picking group few weeks ago not to litter pick as I would fall over have enough trouble walking with my stick . But they have a craft group once a month and a tea and chat group . It was their first AGM at the church round the corner from where I live ,and had a lovely 90 mins meeting new people and having a chat with like minded people.

Greyduster Wed 29-Jan-25 05:52:04

Good morning, Michael and all GNs. Still dark in South Yorkshire but I fancy not quite as cold as yesterday. It’s going to be a dry day today and we may see the sun! Hurrah! GS phoned for a chat yesterday evening which was an unexpected and lovely surprise. I also have a problem with the fridge in my kitchen which was an unexpected but not so lovely surprise. I fancy it is going to need replacing. Fortunately I have a fridge freezer in the garage to take up the slack.
Writers group at the library this afternoon and I shall have a mooch round the shops while I’m at the mall.
Have the best day you can folks.

Bellasnana Wed 29-Jan-25 05:41:53

Good morning from Malta where the temperature has dropped to 14°C which is cold for us!

It was a long day yesterday, 7am-3pm, with both littlest and myself not feeling great. Bless him, he still just wanted cuddles and when I asked if he wanted to play he told me he was ‘still bit sick Nana’. Poor little chap, he did have some porridge and kept it down so that was a slight improvement.

I’m off again in a minute as he’s still not fit for nursery. I’ve had to cancel meeting my pal who is over on holiday but she understands.

Had another bad night although I slept three hours straight which is an improvement on recent days.

Nice to see you back, Ashcombe.☺️

Hope today is kind to you all.☀️

cornergran Wed 29-Jan-25 05:40:17

Morning Mick, morning All from a dark, dry, cold corner of Somerset.

Another night with less sleep than is ideal for my irritability levels. No matter, looking forward to the day ahead. We’re off for breakfast before a wander round a shopping mall with a stop to get a new battery for my phone. Finally an after school cuppa with our daughter in law while our not so Littlest chills. Always good to see them.

Thinking of everyone with personal mountains to climb. Hope Wednesday is kind to us all.
