Behaviour of Celtic fans, should it be tolerated?

It's just sledging. Cricketers do it to each other all the time.
I am sure Prince Billy is enough of an adult to know that.
Strange how these so called Republicans go all misty eyed when they sing, 'Over the Sea to Skye,' about Scottish royalty.

I love football. Chants and songs have been around for ages and are meant to wind the opposition fans right up.
For years Spurs fans called themselves the 'Yid Army'. Some might find that offensive but the supporters were happy to shout it out at matches.
A football fan will give as good as they get and accept it as part of the game. People who are offended should find something else to do.

Football banter is one thing, and believe me, I am NOT easily offended, and the RF stuff doesn't me, but the kind of sectarianism we see here in Scotland is on another level.

In times past this kind of disrespectful behaviour would have been deemed as treason surely?

I never understand why this sort of behaviour is tolerated by the football authorities. Not long ago IIRC during the Euros, fans were booing during the other side’s national anthem. I honestly don’t think the football hierarchy cares - it’s all about money, money, money, now.

If they did care, they’d whack on really serious penalties for this sort of behaviour, serious enough to make yob fans think twice. Not that it’s ever going to happen. 🙁

My family have attended football matches for twenty years with no problems. I dont really think if you hate the royal family clap your hands should be met with punishment.

I have never understood this either.

I have only ever been to one football game, it was Man U versus Arsenal, we were guests in a box, the Arsenal fans by our box took off their shirts and turned so we could gaze at their bellies as we were eating!

Disrespectful and disgusting behaviour, inexcusable!

No, it's disgusting- that kind of behaviour is not acceptable from fans of any football club. However, as a fan who has regularly attended football matches here in Scotland, I have to say that the worst behaviour I have witnessed from fans has been from both sides of the Old Firm, ie Rangers and Celtic. The sectarianism is vile - there should be no place for that whatsoever in this day and age. I've also seen objects being thrown at players and the young ball boys and girls.

I don’t justify any behaviour such as this, but AV were not entirely blameless with sectarian banners on the motorway bridges on approach.
A few games behind closed doors would have minimal effect, this has been going on for many generations as part of the deeper between Protestant ps and Catholics in Scotland.

If a number of games are played without their supporters able to attend, that will negatively impact finances and I think that should happen.
