Good morning Mick and all from Cloudy Chambers 7° northwest coast.
Dsister arrived yesterday from the south having endured a three hour delay the day before, missing the first part of the concert with her old school friends. She usually drives up and this has not endeared her to the trains…

We had a quiet enjoyable day with gammon in the evening and watched Who wants to be a Millionaire, good fun.
Today a lunch out in town. It’s a short visit as she returns tomorrow and I’ve honoured her with non stop central heating which I don’t do for myself.
Thoughts to all 🌺

Good (very late) morning to you all. Please may I join the Lazy Gran Club? After not sleeping - well, averaging only 3-4 hours per night - for the whole of January I have started sleeping again. No real reason except that perhaps taking magnesium glycinate with my evening meal might actually work. Who knows? But it's nice 😁
Nothing to report here. I have found a new (to me) author, Ruth Mancini, and am currently devouring her books. As it's a grey day here, the washing is up-to-date and the kitchen sparkling, today may well be another day of devouring for me. Enjoy your days everyone - especially karma in her happy place on her allotment x

Good morning to you dear Blossoming if you are reading. 👋. I’m sure I can say with confidence that we all miss hearing from you and hope you are keeping as well as you can, aided by your wonderful husband who cares for you so lovingly. x

Beechnut Sun 02-Feb-25 09:26:38

Good morning everyone from Severnside. It’s sunny here.

I’m going to sort out one of my flower containers today. I’ve got some washing in the machine so will put some of it on the line to dry.

In my distant view I can see some trees have been cut down which is a shame.

Have a good day all 💐

NannyJan53 Sun 02-Feb-25 09:18:53

Good morning from a dry Black Country!

Quiet weekend so far, just housework and today will give the Kitchen and extra good clean!

Wishing your DD a very happy Birthday Kitty so pleased her treatment has now ended.

Susan56 my DD married at the Moat House Hotel in Acton Trussell, way back in 2002. A lovely village I remember.

Enjoy your time in Malaga brook we were there last May in an Air BnB, never been to Estepona though, so may have to look into that!

Wishing you all the best day possible

GrannySomerset Sun 02-Feb-25 09:14:03

Beautiful morning but nothing planned for today unless I can summon up the will to do something useful. At least a short walk would be good.

Oopsadaisy1 Sun 02-Feb-25 09:13:30

Happy holidays Ginny

Good morning everyone from a bright and sunny 🌞 Northampton, feeling a bit milder when I came downstairs this morning, and Alexa tells me the day will be fine.

A late breakfast today then I am out to the cinema to see a concert performance of Les Miserables, a musical I love. I think this is the one with Alfie Boe and Michael Ball.
By the time I get home from that it will be dinnertime, followed by Call the Midwife.

Hoping a pleasant day is ahead for all.

FriedGreenTomatoes2 Sun 02-Feb-25 08:54:41

Good morning everyone from south Manchester where it’s chilly out. Alexa tells me (personally which I too love stilllearning!) that currently it’s 4°C and we should expect cloudy skies and 8°C.

Few bits to pick up from the larder downstairs on our way over to fetch my stepfather. We three musketeers are off to my favourite Italian to eat at 2pm. Family owned, always busy, food delicious and staff super friendly and welcoming. They know about Himself’s diagnosis and are always genuinely delighted to see him. Plus they know my stepfather’s advanced age and are very caring and respectful towards him. We always order two kid’s portions of their spaghetti bolognaise to drop off for tea on our way home, for the Boy Wonder and L’il Miss which delights their mum “home made, just not by me!”. A nice change for them.

Good morning. A clear sunny start here in N. Bucks.
Today we will be packing ready for starting our holiday to Zimbabwe and S. Africa. I’m excited and apprehensive at the same time.
Thoughts with all who are Ill or worried and a good day wished for all.

Good morning from Durham. It feels below zero again.

DD1 and DGS1 are coming later today. She’s going to follow me to my garage and I’ll leave my car there for service and MOT tomorrow. Then I’ll treat us all to a meal of DGS1’s choice - he’s a picky eater. I must get her to change a couple of duff lightbulbs - she’s a dab hand.

Best wishes to all. X

Grandmabatty Sun 02-Feb-25 08:25:38

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 4° and damp with a beautiful red sky. I know it augurs wet weather but it was very pretty. Kitty a very happy birthday to your dd. I hope she enjoys her birthday. Ash urgh! I find a hot bedroom so uncomfortable. Baubles Karine Polwarth is one of my favourite musicians. I would have enjoyed that. None of my friends will travel to Glasgow now for Celtic Connections which is a pity.
Yesterday I had a lovely catch up with my friend and a nice breakfast. Sadly the garden centre is moving to counter service rather than waitress service. I know it's probably more economical but the young waitresses are all lovely. I hope they keep them on. My friend is a bit absent minded. I had just started driving when there was an almighty clatter. She hadn't closed the car door and her walking stick/crutch went bouncing out. Fortunately no damage was done. Later I started reading one of my library books. I tend to get engrossed very quickly in reading and nothing else gets done. So it proved yesterday.
Today I'm meeting another friend for lunch at a restaurant which is local to me. I haven't seen her since before Christmas so I'm looking forward to it. Then I'll visit mum. Salmon for dinner later. Have a good day all.

Good morning from Suffolk where it is a beautiful start to the day with a covering of frost and sun.

We are off to see the Bob Dylan film this afternoon. All who I know who’ve seen it have loved it . Not surprising given he was part of our youth.

I first saw him as a student in Newcastle in 1965 and DH and I saw him together at Earl’s Court in 1981 which was his ‘Gospel phase’. After seeing the programme on James Taylor last week and the first of the programmes on the tv last night on Bob Marley, the 60s have been relived in our house!

Bellasnana Sun 02-Feb-25 08:19:00

A very late good morning from Malta where it is bright and 18°C.

I was babysitting the boys last night which was a joy as always. However, DD3 and SiL didn’t get in until almost 2am by which time I was longing for my bed.

I took half a tranquilliser and have only just woken up feeling rather wooly headed. I can’t seem to win, it’s either tossing and turning all night or oversleeping.🤦🏼‍♀️

Had a pm from a Gransnetter yesterday which alerted me to around twenty other messages which had been sitting in my inbox since as far back as June!

I had not received the usual email alerting me to the fact that a pm had come in..

I’m not the sort of person who would ignore any kindly meant message (although there were a few dodgy ones from men which I wouldn’t answer!) so I can only apologise profusely to anyone who might have thought I had read their message and not bothered to respond.

Mass this morning followed by the weekly chat with my pal in Leicester, followed by not very much!

Happy birthday to your DD kittylester, and anyone else celebrating today.🥳

Happy Sunday to all.☀️

Oopsadaisy1 Sun 02-Feb-25 08:18:15

Good morning from a frosty but clear skied Oxfordshire.

Up early as MzOops is packing her car to go house sitting, not far from where she lives in Cornwall, she will look after a house and the owners dog, it a house sitting service that she belongs to. Sounds as though it’s in a lovely spot close to a beach ( aren’t they all in Cornwall!)

Later we are going over to see MissOops as it’s her Birthday Boxing Day and she wants a Chinese meal for lunch.
I’m not keen but I’m sure there will be something on the menu that I will like.
She had a good day yesterday with a surprise massage session and then afternoon tea at Blenheim Palace. She brought most of the cakes home, very few sandwiches but plenty of cake, which seems par for the course these days, back in the day it was plenty of dainty sandwiches and just 3 or 4 cakes, they had about 10 cakes and only tiny strips of a sandwich. Anyway she enjoyed it and so did MzOops who is Vegan and Gluten Intolerant and was well catered for, of course the surroundings were lovely but too cold for them to linger outside.

Hope your son has a good day Kitty.

Have a good day everyone, hugs for those who aren’t so chipper today.

GrannyGravy13 Sun 02-Feb-25 08:18:01

Good morning Mick and all,

It is bright and frosty here in S E Essex.

Jace t read the thread yet, will catch up whilst having my tea in bed.

A leisurely day ahead, DD and boys coming for a late Sunday roast, I for-see more Lego construction whilst the Yorkshire puddings are rising 😹😹🙋‍♀️

Mizuna Sun 02-Feb-25 08:17:11

Good morning from Cornwall where the weather is mild, the rain gentle. The street is quiet, no Biffa juggernaut at 05.30 as it's Sunday. I quite miss the monster. 😁

My granddaughter had huge fun here yesterday, making inedible concoctions based on out of date flour and bicarb. 😂 Today I'll walk along the coast to the beach then return to do some hoodie wrangling as I persuade it to combine with a shirt that's a size smaller. Much cutting required. ✂️

This evening my eldest son wants to go to church with me so we're going to a Baptist church in another town as it has a monthly evening service. It'll be lovely to share that time with him.

Marydoll Sun 02-Feb-25 08:16:15

Good morning all from a cloudy Glasgow, where it is 6°C.

I hope your daughter has a lovely day, Kitty.
A double whammy, Baubles, 🤞 you suffer no ill effects.

I need to go to Mass this morning, despite beingvthere last night. I have a number of jobs to do, which didn't get done, due to this week's dramas.
I would prefer to stay in, but giving in will be the end of me.
I saw my beloved Dollie yesterday and she seems to have recovered, but a bit subdued.

I wish you all a pleasant day and safe travels.

If anyone knows where I have put the ham for dinner, please let me know. I planned to marinade it yesterday, but it has vanished! I am sure I bought one,
Then again,I may have imagined it! Perhaps I should post on the short term memory thread.🤣

Have a good day folks.

Good morning from a bright W Kent. Very frosty here so may not go out. Usual chat to DB and a Sunday lunch. Beginning to focus properly and find I can read without glasses, I can make a start on the Christmas books
Happy birthday to Kitty’s daughter
Best wishes to all
