I guess Mick has already gone out on the bus.

Good morning all. Cloudy and windy here in West Sussex by the sea.

I had an appointment for a haircut at 8.15. I was ‘deeply dreaming’ until 7.40 when DH woke me with a cup of tea. Now I’m off to our monthly cafe for people with dementia and their carers (and anyone else who drops in 🙂).

Marydoll, I hope you can rest and recover 🌹

keepingquiet - we need answers!

Have a good day, all who can. Thoughts with those suffering.

I think ‘Bad Gateway’ is a GN server issue. Perhaps tightening up since the debacle on MN during the night hours a few days ago? If so, a minor inconvenience in a good cause.

I was WRONG❗️ Hehe!

I do sometimes go on a Tuesday, my neck is painful this morning, I think I jarred it yesterday in Callanetics.

GrannySomerset Tue 04-Feb-25 09:36:10

The “bad gateway” has obviously thrown many of us but here we are, ready for whatever else the day throws at us. Bed changing and laundry the star features today and then I will set about trying to find a builder who can deal with my leak before April. I have two recommendations so am hoping for good luck, but all good builders seem to be very busy and this isn’t a big job, merely a very necessary one.

Morning all from a cold North Leicestershire.

Choir in a bit. Back later.

Susan56 Tue 04-Feb-25 09:45:36

Good morning from rainy Shropshire.

Yesterdays hospital appointment has resulted in me now being on the waiting list for shoulder surgery.I was quite shocked as I never expect anything from theses appointments.Marydoll will understand.

My brothers visited mum yesterday and had a few concerns but as I am POA the staff wouldn’t discuss anything with them so DH and I are going today.A bit annoying as we like to space our visits over the week I have said I am happy for the staff to discuss things with my brothers but they have said they won’t/can’t.

I hope your cough eases as the day goes on Marydoll.

Have a good day everyone🦩

Good morning all. Thanks for opening up,*Beechnut*. It’s bucketing down in Glasgow.

My car was collected for a service and should be returned around 4.00pm. That being the case, I will do a Waitrose shop whenever I am mobile again. DD2 has popped in for her coffee stop before returning home to take the dogs out for a walk, rather her than me in this weather.

A foutering around indoors it is then.

Have the best day possible all.

cornergran Tue 04-Feb-25 10:09:29

Morning All. Our corner of Somerset has a battleship grey sky and is definitely chilly.

Thanks for opening beechnut. Hope mick is enjoying his daily trip out.

Assumed GN were working on the server when I checked earlier. Groceries have been delivered and unpacked, breakfast eaten, now it’s on to dust removal. Usual routine for us.

Have the best day you can everyone.

karmalady Tue 04-Feb-25 10:18:44

Good morning from s somerset

I went out to post a package, 8 mile round trip to the `local` post office

Car is loaded with bought compost, shed hinges, wood etc, ready for plot run later this week

Now having coffee and fruit, I had thought of dusting but it was a fleeting thought. Spinning and films today and a whizz around the kitchen, that will do. Bed is made and en suite was wiped earlier

Have a good day

Good morning everyone, the sun shone briefly earlier this morning but it’s back to being a dull-skied south Glos hillside.
Yesterday we had a lovely late afternoon dog walk in sunshine, it definitely lifts my spirits being outside in sunshine! It was a three mile walk across fields and through woods, muddy but very pleasant.
So far today I have cleared the bathroom, loo and kitchen, done two loads of washing, sorted through my ridiculous amount of hair products and shoved them in a box that’s now under the bed.
Then sorted out my makeup bag (I look so pale and haggard I definitely need to wear some!) and put in my contact lens for the first time in months 🫣- no, they don’t make me look any less awful! I absolutely love the curly perm I had last week so I’m determined to overhaul my appearance and cheer myself up - I’m definitely not depressed just a little bit meh 😊
Anyway, dog is out with her dog walker, DH is actually doing the vacuuming (!!!) and I ought to start looking for something to cook for dinner.
I hope today goes well for you all 🌹

Aldom Tue 04-Feb-25 10:28:07

Karmalady your fleeting thought about dusting made me laugh out loud. I have similar fleeting thoughts! grin

hollysteers Tue 04-Feb-25 10:28:27

Good morning Mick and all from Cloudy Chambers northwest coast.
Dsister left for the south yesterday afternoon after a nice if rather quiet time with me. We get along very well in a relaxed way. This time her train was on time and she watched a film on the journey home on her phone. Our smartphones can be very useful. It was the first time she hadn’t driven up and she doesn’t intend to take the train again what with delays etc. She also had to leave some Christmas presents from other relatives behind as they were too heavy.

My cat is so spoiled, it has water, food, access to outside and still miaows for attention…I’m not a mind reader🙄

Music club later, so need to have a warm up and practise my songs.
Hope you all have the best day you can🌺

A very late good morning from Malta where the sky is blue, the sun is shining and it’s 18°C.

I too found a bad gateway at 7am when I tried to pop in before coming to watch the boys.

We had a lovely day yesterday, I took them to the park which was almost empty but the gardeners were out in force rotavating the soil, taking up old plants to make way for new, the flowers are always so pretty there. The boys were very interested in the machinery and we saw some big fat worms who had been unearthed.

They also loved seeing the cats who live there when they came out to greet their feeders. It was so lovely and peaceful, we stayed a couple of hours then I took them home, gave them lunch and they napped for an hour or so before I woke them, put them in their nursery uniform and handed them over to their other grandparents who kindly drove them to nursery.

Today they have both been coughing a lot but we have spent the morning reading, playing and they have had lunch and are both napping. Such good boys, they go into bed no fussing and straight off to sleep.

I feel so lucky and so happy being able to have this precious time with them.

DGD in the USA messaged me yesterday which also made me happy. We have always been very close despite the distance between us. She will be 14 this month!

Sorry to have rambled on. Hope you are all having a good day.

Take care.☀️

Gingster Tue 04-Feb-25 10:57:58

Late on here owing to Bad Gateway, then walking the dog and man coming about a new liner for the woodburner. Will need a cherry picker as the roof is high, so more expense !

Not sure what we’ll do today , perhaps lunch out, we’ll see!

Glad we’re all back on. I would so miss our morning chat.

Georgesgran Tue 04-Feb-25 11:04:51

Good morning from Durham.
Late here too with the BG message.
I’m in M&S awaiting my poorly friend. One final procedure next week to try and explain her 2stone weight loss - if nothing, she really needs to up her food intake - always a size 8, she had no interest in food, never hungry and often misses meals - her RA meds don’t help either.
Another friend’s son in an RTA last night - not injured, but the other party stank of weed. Details exchanged then she ran off. Car probably a write off.

I’ll read through later,
Best wishes to all. X

grandMattie Tue 04-Feb-25 11:27:35

Good morning Mick. Thanks for the update, and thank you for the foresight and knowledge to report it to GN.

Grandmabatty Tue 04-Feb-25 11:54:38

Karma my idea of housework is to sweep the room with a glance.
House hoovered, dishwasher emptied and loaded, bedroom tidied and kitchen tidied. It'll all go pear shaped when I pick up the boys 😂. I phoned an aerial fitter who came out to have a look and will sort it tomorrow. I feel I have peaked

Taichinan Tue 04-Feb-25 11:54:44

Another one thrown by the bad gateway! I felt really quite discombobulated without being able to tell you "it's a grey day on the Angus coast" and "off to tai chi now". So glad normal service has been resumed. It's still a grey day and I'm home from tai chi. Have a good afternoon and evening everyone x

It means the GN server is off line. I'm sure they would be aware of it, nothing would be working.

My heart would sink, when I would arrive at school and find the school server was down. It used to also affect the phones. It was my role to deal with it and the younger staff were unable to use a blackboard could not cope without their interactive whiteboards. You would have thought it was the end of the world.

How did we survive before the Internet? 🤣

Grammaretto Tue 04-Feb-25 14:09:26

I tried to join you earlier but my post refused to send!
So BAD GATEWAY followed by lost post followed by a message on my brand new TV saying NO SIGNAL so no chance to waste time on there.
The radio is not getting BBC only local radio.
Some conspiracy?
Ah well I didn't have much to say.
I've had my feet done which was lovely.
I've measured my broken attic window for new glass. I don't think I can afford a glazier. I've been quoted £160 for one small pane. I'll just cover it with a piece of plastic.

Hopefully you are all having a good day.

Now to do my Gaelic homework for tonight's class.

I have ranted about my morning, but DH just ignored me and DD and DIL just laughed.
