I guess Mick has already gone out on the bus.

Good morning from s somerset

I went out to post a package, 8 mile round trip to the `local` post office

Car is loaded with bought compost, shed hinges, wood etc, ready for plot run later this week

Now having coffee and fruit, I had thought of dusting but it was a fleeting thought. Spinning and films today and a whizz around the kitchen, that will do. Bed is made and en suite was wiped earlier

Have a good day

Morning All. Our corner of Somerset has a battleship grey sky and is definitely chilly.

Thanks for opening beechnut. Hope mick is enjoying his daily trip out.

Assumed GN were working on the server when I checked earlier. Groceries have been delivered and unpacked, breakfast eaten, now it’s on to dust removal. Usual routine for us.

Have the best day you can everyone.

Good morning all. Thanks for opening up,*Beechnut*. It’s bucketing down in Glasgow.

My car was collected for a service and should be returned around 4.00pm. That being the case, I will do a Waitrose shop whenever I am mobile again. DD2 has popped in for her coffee stop before returning home to take the dogs out for a walk, rather her than me in this weather.

A foutering around indoors it is then.

Have the best day possible all.

Good morning from rainy Shropshire.

Yesterdays hospital appointment has resulted in me now being on the waiting list for shoulder surgery.I was quite shocked as I never expect anything from theses appointments.Marydoll will understand.

My brothers visited mum yesterday and had a few concerns but as I am POA the staff wouldn’t discuss anything with them so DH and I are going today.A bit annoying as we like to space our visits over the week I have said I am happy for the staff to discuss things with my brothers but they have said they won’t/can’t.

I hope your cough eases as the day goes on Marydoll.

Have a good day everyone🦩

Morning all from a cold North Leicestershire.

Choir in a bit. Back later.

GrannySomerset Tue 04-Feb-25 09:36:10

The “bad gateway” has obviously thrown many of us but here we are, ready for whatever else the day throws at us. Bed changing and laundry the star features today and then I will set about trying to find a builder who can deal with my leak before April. I have two recommendations so am hoping for good luck, but all good builders seem to be very busy and this isn’t a big job, merely a very necessary one.

I was WRONG❗️ Hehe!

I do sometimes go on a Tuesday, my neck is painful this morning, I think I jarred it yesterday in Callanetics.

FriedGreenTomatoes2 Tue 04-Feb-25 09:34:21

I think ‘Bad Gateway’ is a GN server issue. Perhaps tightening up since the debacle on MN during the night hours a few days ago? If so, a minor inconvenience in a good cause.

Litterpicker Tue 04-Feb-25 09:32:45

Good morning all. Cloudy and windy here in West Sussex by the sea.

I had an appointment for a haircut at 8.15. I was ‘deeply dreaming’ until 7.40 when DH woke me with a cup of tea. Now I’m off to our monthly cafe for people with dementia and their carers (and anyone else who drops in 🙂).

Marydoll, I hope you can rest and recover 🌹

keepingquiet - we need answers!

Have a good day, all who can. Thoughts with those suffering.

Redcar Tue 04-Feb-25 09:32:22

Good morning everyone. Thanks for opening up beechnut, I was getting quite anxious about the “bad gateway” so pleased all is ok now! It’s bright here at the moment, rain forecast for later.
Drove to the garden centre yesterday and got a few bits, but nothing garden related! Felt more comfortable driving, so I’m making progress.
I’ll be cleaning the bathroom today, and possibly my bedroom too. So a very exciting day for me!
Have a good day everyone.

FriedGreenTomatoes2 Tue 04-Feb-25 09:31:12

Great book BlueSapphire! Good choice.

luluaugust Tue 04-Feb-25 09:28:00

More bad gateway here. Seem to have been up for ages, quite put out.
A quiet day here as DH not feeling great and my constant round of drops make a social life difficult
DGS5 is 14 today the youngest of the GC. He had his friends round over the weekend and we hope to catch up with him next weekend.
Very best wishes to all

Grandmabatty Tue 04-Feb-25 09:27:31

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 11° and raining. Lots of puddles so dgs1 was happy. Dgs2 not so much. He avoids puddles like a cat.
Yesterday I did a couple of hours in the library but had to stop as I need to label the books. I've ordered labels to arrive today. Technically I could have asked the school to source them but that would take ages. I had my shingles jab in the afternoon which gave me a very decent night's sleep!
The boys are both at school/nursery and I'm facing the chaos of my living room already. We've had building tunnels with cushions and the floor is lava, all before school. I'll do a spot of pottering but my arm aches today, so I'm disinclined to do a lot. Have a good day all.

NannyJan53 Tue 04-Feb-25 09:23:46

Good morning from a grey and cloudy Black Country, where the sun is struggling to shine through!

After a busy day yesterday, no real plans today. May pop up to Merry Hell Hill and have a mooch. MrJ is off on his group cycle ride. Hope he is back before the forecasted rain.

Wishing you all the best day possible.

BlueSapphire Tue 04-Feb-25 09:17:10

Good morning everyone from a bright Northampton. I too had 'bad gateway'. Have just 'herded' the cats into their carriers ready for their annual check up and jabs at the vets; had to resort to subterfuge to round them up! Waiting for DS to come and pick us up.

Coffee later, early lunch then out for our health walk.

Started my new book for book club yesterday and am enjoying it so far - Cannery Row by John Steinbeck, didn't know what to expect but am pleasantly surprised.

Must go now, DS is here.
Have a good day everyone.

Greyduster Tue 04-Feb-25 09:14:15

Oh hello, at last! Good morning, Mick wherever you out and about (I am totally discombobulated without you leading us in!) and all GNs. Sun is shining in South Yorkshire at the moment. I’m just about to walk down to the supermarket and then this afternoon I have a volunteer session at school.
Have the best day you can folks.

EkwaNimitee Tue 04-Feb-25 09:13:48

Good morning all, a bad gateway here too.

I'm just about to go into town to collect prescriptions and get my hair cut. Naturally, therefore, it's raining!
I'll have a quick trawl through M&S as I need some socks and then it will be homewards bound for me. I've already vacuumed the bedrooms and might swoop around the bathrooms later, or not....I've still got my long book to read, I've barely got halfway.

Have a good day everyone if you can.

FriedGreenTomatoes2 Tue 04-Feb-25 09:13:34

I was WRONG❗️ Hehe!

Marydoll Tue 04-Feb-25 09:13:30

Good morning all, it's wild here in Glasgow.

It didn't matter that GN was down, I have coughed for over an hour and could do nothing! I sound like a sixty a day person!

The roofers appeared at 8am, the storm damage is worse than we thought and will need scaffolding. 😱 Thank goodness it will be an insurance job.
We also have the eye watering quote to repair our fence. sad

I have some albs to alter and also repair. We have new servers and one has pulled his on so hard, he has ripped it! I have no energy for anything else.

I wish you all a pleasant day, what ever your plans.

FriedGreenTomatoes2 Tue 04-Feb-25 09:12:52

Loving the comments loopyloo! 🤣
GG13 is probably doing her bench press ups and squats at the gym ….

monk08 Tue 04-Feb-25 09:12:03

Thanks for opening up Beechnut
And a good morning everyone from a lovely sunny Black country.
Washing out on the line blowing away, must admit have got more done this morning having not spent time on gransnet.
I have a bag to drop round to charity shop having sorted wardrobe yesterday.
Have a good day everyone whatever your plans and may you all find a little bit of ☀️.

GrannyGravy13 Tue 04-Feb-25 09:11:19

Morning all, being unable to log in first thing has confirmed my diagnosis of addicted to GN

Back tp the opticians in a moment (third time in a week) to get my glasses fitted, they are lopsided. I have just tried on all my sunglasses (won’t talk about that addiction) and reading glasses and they are not lopsided so it cannot be my face 😹😹😹

Not a lot planned for today, I am beginning to think I have forgotten something big, as I have a lot of free time.

🙋‍♀️

loopyloo Tue 04-Feb-25 09:10:25

Yes, Grandmattie is already serving tea and cakes somewhere and Karmalady is on her allotment.
Have the best possible day everyone.

keepingquiet Tue 04-Feb-25 09:10:00

Good morning all from South Yorkshire.

I am going to write a short story today- suggestions anyone?

How many words?
How many characters?
What kind of setting?
What happens?

May get back to you later...

grandMattie Tue 04-Feb-25 09:07:54

Me too, I had a bad gateway until now! I wonder what happened, but I’m glad I’m not alone!
Very quiet day ahead - baking for the FAB cafe tomorrow (cranberry flavoured biscuits and lemon drizzle cake, Spanish homework and finally my “salon” this afternoon. Two neighbours and I have our hair cut…
Washing done and on the line - until it rains this afternoon.
