Why does everyone tolerate, the intolerable?

In 2025, we have in so many ways allowed standards to now stop. Standards now allow anyone to go into shops, steal without stopping. Standards allow anyone to disrespect without stopping. Standards dropped allowing knifing. Standards dropped allowing a Government to disrespect older peeps the list is endless. Why do you tolerate, the intolerable.

Gripes on this website - well some - why don’t you get what
is just?

I fight, and win many things unjust, for me, even if it’s things
like taxation, pension maze, cat food nonsense, animal cruelty, people ignorance, lying by omission Government/companies - whole kit and caboodle - but at least I’m trying - please stop allowing this awful destruction of our beautiful England, Wales, Ireland and Scotland - or in any order - our beautiful country is being destroyed. If any of you travel - you’ll know it is.

If my Father, his Father and his Father were here today, how ashamed they would be. Don’t just accept everything our beautiful country and its peeps deserve better, truly we do.

Why are posters assuming that the OP's post is computer generated? What is the proof and linguistic evidence? Or is it just another assumption upon whose back other posters jump instead of considering the original post which actually has some very relevant points. Dear me!

Oh my god thank you Oreo.
I may be wrong and unduly cynical of course.

However, the grammar is terrible and every 19th century school pupil was drilled in correct grammar usage. The Three Rs were very important.

Many poor children in 19th century England went without an education as they had to earn money from a very early age to stay alive.

It is not computer generated. The phrase 'kit and caboodle' is 19th century parlance. Don't think AI is quite that skilled yet.

So you think this could be a 19th century spirit infiltrating Gransnet?
No wonder it's called The Cloud - you never know what's up there!

Your assumption from what I wrote. Not my words.

Allira Sun 16-Feb-25 10:45:04

Oh, I hadn't noticed that Galaxy

How odd.

Sock puppets Galaxy😄

Galaxy Sun 16-Feb-25 10:38:35

There is quite a lot of odd stuff on here at the moment - lots of oh what is the internet slang, when a poster changes name to agree with themselves. Anyway quite a lot of that and a bit of trolling. I am not making any claims about this poster just reflecting in general!

To me, ‘peeps’ sound so twee. I really don’t like it.

Oreo Sun 16-Feb-25 10:04:25

Petra this example in the OP is so obvs computer generated, but I suppose quite a few older people not used to tech in their past lives will be taken in sadly.

HM... Agree..
Just just a common all garden cut and paste?

Visgirl
You say that this is a cut and paste job.
In which case the original is out there in the cloud, agree?
I’ve done a search on Google and bing and it’s nowhere on the net.
Perhaps you can post a link.

Oreo
No wonder people are scammed 🤦🏼‍♀️

This isn’t somebody who’s sad with life, or been at the sherry bottle, it’s computer generated as Petra says.
You take certain key words, in this case standards/ stopping/gripes by peeps and so on, and it generates a sort of story but not how a person would do it, like a journalistic report but not quite making sense.
So don’t bother trying to answer.

Peeps is used here a lot for people. I think it is Australian and American. 🇺🇸 🇦🇺 I was thinking the problems are worldwide, not just the UK. As G.K. Chesterton said about what is wrong with the world today. His answer - ‘I am’. Our lovely pastor preached on this today. We are all responsible ,we are all at fault.

Is this really AI?

Don't you think AI would have a more intelligent conversation. The OP is suggesting life is worse now than, I would guess, the early 1900s (father), the late 1800s (grandfather) or early to mid 1800s (great-grandfather).

I know someone who uses AI for basic boardroom legal advice. If it was at that level I think the would soon have stopped using it.

I think it's someone feeling very sad with their lot in life.

Not sure my DF might agree as he was in the Forces in WW1.

I can't speak for my grandfather or great-grandfather but so many of those generations emigrated so life cannot have been that rosy.

Sorry, but the OP is just so unclear. Try unpicking it, and what is being said? That standards have dropped? That shop lifters are taking over and seem to be getting away with what they do? What do they mean by “cat food nonsense” ?
Do they believe that the UK is falling apart? Certainly, there are many, many things to be unhappy about, but equally, there are things to be positive about, too. We must not allow ourselves to be bowed down by negativity, which, I acknowledge, is so difficult right now. Anything we feel is unjust then we have to stand up and say so, not just sit back and think ‘“woe is me”. We all have a voice, let’s use it when necessary.

So you believe you’re reading a post from a walking talking real person? 🤦🏼‍♀️

petra Sat 15-Feb-25 21:49:12

Could 'cat food nonsense' be referring to Vance making up the story about people eating their pets?

Did you not notice that the post is UK centric.
