Why does everyone tolerate, the intolerable?

In 2025, we have in so many ways allowed standards to now stop. Standards now allow anyone to go into shops, steal without stopping. Standards allow anyone to disrespect without stopping. Standards dropped allowing knifing. Standards dropped allowing a Government to disrespect older peeps the list is endless. Why do you tolerate, the intolerable.

Gripes on this website - well some - why don’t you get what
is just?

I fight, and win many things unjust, for me, even if it’s things
like taxation, pension maze, cat food nonsense, animal cruelty, people ignorance, lying by omission Government/companies - whole kit and caboodle - but at least I’m trying - please stop allowing this awful destruction of our beautiful England, Wales, Ireland and Scotland - or in any order - our beautiful country is being destroyed. If any of you travel - you’ll know it is.

If my Father, his Father and his Father were here today, how ashamed they would be. Don’t just accept everything our beautiful country and its peeps deserve better, truly we do.

I would still like BixB to come back and explain what the "cat food nonsense" is all about.

We once rescued a chicken swimming in a Marina. With difficulty 😂 He obviously didn’t want to be rescued.

Is it me? Have I finally lost my final marble?

Kit and caboodle. If I get a kitten I will call it caboodle 😆

Someone playing with their new Ai ChatBot.

This poster has started a thread previously and participated in a different previous thread. Not that new ai then.

She/he isn’t participating in this thread though, are they ?

Is she wrapped up in a feather duvet before she goes to sleep?

😂
Not quite, M0nica - she'd probably find feathers offensive and SO hasn't yet thought of polyester!

Millie22 Mon 17-Feb-25 08:35:07

No I really could not cuddle a hen.

We had one years ago and she smelled of chicken.

BizB posted previously asking posters to adopt Battery hens as they make cuddly friends.
I've never cuddled a hen but DD has adopted battery hens (they live outside) and they have rewarded her with eggs.

Going off-topic, my SO has rescue hens and some of them do become very tame and enjoy a cuddle. Currently, we have one crazy chook who waits to be carried to bed in Cluckingham Palace every night.

It is not computer generated. The phrase 'kit and caboodle' is 19th century parlance. Don't think AI is quite that skilled yet.

'kit and caboodle' is also modern parlance. It is certainly in my everyday vocabulary, for any amorphous mass.

Like DD visitng with a car full of bags of stuff rather than suitcase. 'Here comes DD with all her kit and caboodle'

It sounds like Ned Flanders

Who is he?

I've heard of Nell Flanders

The Simpsons.
Ned is Homers neighbour. 😂

Thanks.

I've never watched The Simpsons!

Dont think Ai is quite that skilled yet
This article disputes that assumption.

This sounds like one of those provocative non-posts generated either for money or to get people arguing with each other. Trolls do it for amusement, others (certainly on some other chat sites, perhaps not this one?) do it because they can earn money if they post enough questions to get people talking. Sometimes a controversial post has its origins abroad (think USSR & China - which might account for the slightly dodgy English) in order to get other nationals spitting venom at one another.

I don't think standards have dropped just this year, they've been dropping for quite some time.
The shoplifting looks quite terrifying, it's rather like the 'steaming' that used to happen on the Underground.

Many years ago shoplifting meant someone slipping items quietly into pockets or a large bag and leaving the store. Now it's intimidating gangs clearing shelves and threatening violence.

Very many years ago I remember one old lady was put on probation time and again for stealing a few grocery items. Now these gangs get away with it.

Whether it is AI or booze generated, or whatever, it really is incoherent.

Complete nonsense really.

The last time I remember hearing the word peeps instead of people was when Harry Enfield did his stand up, Stavros routine.grin

Silverbrooks Sun 16-Feb-25 11:14:28

Why do some assume this is AI generated? Last year, BixB was asking people to consider rescuing battery hens and seems to have a genuine concern about animal welfare.

Peeps as a diminutive of people has been in use for almost 200 years. Like it or not, it's a valid word.

OP sound like someone just having a heartfelt rant about the state of things - which is what a lot of people use this platform for.

NotSpaghetti Sun 16-Feb-25 11:03:49

I have noticed BixB on here before.

Just saying.
