Meghan’s new brand name

Prevented from using American Riviera Orchard, Meghan has come up with the brand name, As Ever!

I don’t know about the USA but has nobody advised her that in the UK it’s often a term of exasperation? 🤔

No idea what your talking about??? I never use that expression??? Whatever but... as ever?

Jaberwok Wed 19-Feb-25 17:46:03

Annie. 🤔🤔🤔

I often sign off ‘Love, as ever’, as do a number of people when writing/sending a card to me.

Actually the RF were not hostile to Diana, they found her exasperating and difficult but, unlike Harry, never treacherous. Prince Philip, as shown in correspondence with the Princess, was surprisingly sympathetic to her marital problems. Diana was never ever disloyal either to the RF, or this country as demonstrated by the anthem chosen for her funeral. Diana's problems were with her husband, not the RF.

Allira I thought she said 2022 for this "new" name ...

Well said Jaberwok.

Oh Thank you Allira.😊

I think Harry & Diana's issues, & the expression of them, were pretty equivalent actually.
It is a different world now with social media, no privacy privileges for anyone & disinformation rife,
Diana may well have gone down a very similar route to her son & Meghan if the Information Scene had been as it is now when she had her issues. Neither of them want to be disloyal for the sake of it.
There's a saying 'one man's terrorist is another man's freedom fighter' which I do concur with 85% of the time.

I would also say, 'one person's disloyalty is another person's whistle blowing' for modern times.

Jaberwok Wed 19-Feb-25 18:25:55

Harry was disloyal, bordering on treacherous, to the RF for megga bucks, encouraged by his wife. Diana was by her own admission, extremely loyal and supportive of the monarchy. Diana supported charities and was empathic to the sufferings of others and she certainly never ever made a penny piece by advertising her 'dirty linen' in public to the detriment of her husbands family.

Barleyfields Wed 19-Feb-25 18:30:26

Who knows how she would have behaved had she lived.

merlotgran Wed 19-Feb-25 18:38:51

I doubt Diana would have said or done anything to damage the monarchy.

She was expecting to live long enough to see William crowned King.

Jaberwok Wed 19-Feb-25 18:58:33

I think you're quite right merlotgran. Diana definitely would never have done anything to jeopardise Williams path to the throne. It was her dearest wish to see him crowned.

woodenspoon Wed 19-Feb-25 19:19:18

It all boils down to jealousy I’m afraid. William will be king, Harry won’t. William is the better looking. William appears to have a nicer personality. Williams wife is head and shoulders above Harry’s on every level imaginable. William has three children who we have all seen and we know are genuinely his and Katherine’s. William is able to maintain relationships with family, in-laws and friends. Harry can’t.

He’s bitter and jealous and it was covered up by the palace for many years. Now away from them, we can see his true character, his jealousy, his bitterness and it isn’t pretty.

We must remember Diana had two sons. Not just Harry.

merlotgran Wed 19-Feb-25 19:42:09

Heavens! What are you implying?? 😮

BTW it’s Catherine.

woodenspoon Wed 19-Feb-25 19:45:59

Katherine, Catherine, Kate we all know who she is Merlot Gran.

Anniebach Wed 19-Feb-25 19:47:15

Yes, it so does seem like jealousy, William had a bigger bedroom, I doubt very much not a single and double room,

William did well in school, William went to university as did their cousins and Charles.

Anne, Andrew and Edward accepted Charles position as Heir,
Harry seems to have found this difficult with William,

Well, exactly...

Just noticed the link posted above doesn't work.

Here's an article based on the transcript:
thenightly.com.au/world/royals/duchess-of-sussex-meghan-markle-rebrands-american-riviera-orchard-to-as-ever-netflix-partner-with-royal-c-17772214

If you want to actually hear her it's on Instagram @meghan the video with her in a white shirt.

She "secured" the name in 2022.

Anniebach Wed 19-Feb-25 22:12:05

She chose the title after 4 years of marriage , why wait 3 years

25Avalon Wed 19-Feb-25 22:41:27

I am not sure Meghan is jealous. I think she is living the life she wants but needs to find a way of sustaining it and this is her latest venture. Unfortunately for her, her team has not done its full research, and the latest name is already being claimed by a New York clothing store and the motive is already in use and has been for hundreds of years by another country. Oh dear! Is this going to be a back to the drawing board moment again? Heads could roll.

Anniebach Thu 20-Feb-25 05:12:22

I agree. I don’t think she is jealous, she loves the limelight, she loves centre stage, her speech at the Invictus Games show this, no thought for the veterans it was all herself, the way she pushes Harry back if they are meeting someone, she has to be first, the grabbing of microphones

Lizzie44 Thu 20-Feb-25 12:44:20

Whatevs.... Am I bovered?

eazybee Thu 20-Feb-25 13:34:05

I am not surprised the Sussex's venture keep failing as both seem incapable of doing in-depth research and coming up with original ideas. Neither have any experience of business.

They seem to think that attaching their name to a possible money-making scheme will be enough to make it successful.
Not in today's world.

IamMaz Thu 20-Feb-25 13:43:00

I have used the phrase ‘as ever’ on Christmas and birthday cards before now.
