Elastic waisted trousers

A compromise is possible....a normal waistband combined with elastic. I move around a lot and need clothes that move with me. I always wear proper trousers when I go out but wear elastic waists in the house. So much more comfortable when you're bending and stretching.

Funnily enough I find trousers with zips easier to get down for an urgent trip to the loo rather than pull on ones. It must be my basic shape I guess plus I usually tighten the waist cord that you get with pull ons. I wear both sorts of trousers. Jog pants I find are good for working in the garden.

I love elasticated trousers and have all sorts of them. Being independent minded I have never succumbed to the pressure to squeeze myself into stiff waisted trousers!

I have several pairs/styles from M&S which have zip and fasten front and elastic on the back, one style has belt loops which is good if you don't want the elastic back seen - wear a belt, though does really defeat the point of the elastic. It gives you choice. I do wear jeans but not with an elestic waist as I dont think they look as good, most jeans these days have a small percentage of elastane. All said, the older I get the more I embrace comfort - it's been a long time since I wore heels

I wear leggings and flared yoga pants around the house and obviously to the gym. But if I’m going out I’m a jeans girl . I don’t have smart trousers for some reason.
For a long haul flight my flared yoga pants are a godsend . Smarter than leggings and still comfy .

Definitely jeans as a daily go to for me, however I have two pairs of very smart dressy pull on elastic waisted trousers that make me smile with pleasure and the fact that they remind a lot of my mother and crimplene!!

I agree!

I wear all sorts of trousers including jeans although I do not find jeans particularly comfortable, warm or smart.
I have some very stylish elasticated trousers which look a lot better than some of the jeans I see people wearing.

I’ve just changed into some comfy ones after a bit too magnificent a lunch at Mums ( which ended in a huge apple crumble and custard) which I did justice to ( twice) 🤭

I like stuff with elasticated waists. I don't see why it is a big deal. We are allowed to wear what we like

I think they’re fine as long as you wear a top that covers the waistband. Then who would know?

I followed your link and was all set to buy a pair until I saw they were to be delivered by Evri so cancelled the order. Evri have wasted days of my life and raised my BP just too much!

Bamboo yoga pants from BAM are my wardrobe staple - they have soft fold over waistbands and so comfy. I also have their jogging bottoms which are warm and cosy. I also love my linen bubble trousers from Sahara for the summer which are super stylish and shock horror ! - have elasticated waist but as I wear a t shirt or linen top with them they aren't on view..

I'm 59 ...a size 8 to 10....I've got a good few pairs of elastic waisted trousers....all wide leg....my winter ones include a brown tartan pair I wear with Chelsea boots....and some plain black thin cord ones....and all my summer ones are linen or very thin cotton....most are from high street shops like pull and bear.....h and m ......I wear my summer ones with birkenstock or trainers....I love these type of pants ( as we call trousers in the NW!) ..... why are people mocking them? 🤔.... I think mine are quite stylish 😊

And waistcoats are “vests”
So for them going out in your vest and pants is not at all the picture it conjures up to me

Thanks for this. I’ll be buying a pair of these. I’ve just bought straight leg Sienna jeans from M&S. I’m between sizes so sized up and they slip down. No good at all.
I’m hoping these Cotton Traders don’t do that?

I bought a pair of these jeans. Unfortunately they do nothing for me. I am a short apple shape and find they are baggy in the bum and thighs. Not a good look on me! Shame as they are comfy so I just wear them around the house. I'm sure they are fine on taller people.

I am only 5ft3in and quite chunky and the 29in length are fine on me. In this style I can go down a size, but for others from CT I have to size up - quite annoying!
