Good morning all it’s getting light here on the east coast of Fife and it feels a little cold, that’s the heating kicked back on

it was a dreadful day yesterday my social carer didn’t turn up and I was left hanging around waiting for her. Bellasnana you’re twin boys sound like little darlings don’t know if you’re aware I’m a twin too but a lot older having reached the ripe age of 75 however, today they say 60 is really the new age these days I don’t feel like 75 hey ho it’s what it is.

Have a good day my friends keep well 💐💐

Good morning all from a sunny Black country.
Think as the weather is good perhaps go for a walk around the arboretum and a coffee.
Marydoll hope the hospital get back to you soon and can offer some relief 💐.
Bellasnanna💐
Happy birthday MrC🎂.
Have the best day you can everyone ☀️.

Good morning all .

Had a really lovely day yesterday with so much music, singing and laughter. On such a wet, miserable day, it really lifted the spirits.

Today I’m hopping on the train to have a coffee with my dearest friend of over 70 years. Only two stops away.
Back home for Bridge this afternoon. It’s all or nothing isn’t it!

Bellasnanna sorry to hear you were upset yesterday. Mothers and daughters!!!!!. It will soon pass 🥰.
Marydoll I hope you have a better day.
GG I’m glad your stitches and bandages are off. You will feel much more comfortable.
I hope your journey tomorrow goes well Llf. Take books, puzzles and snacks.
GM take it easy today and let your wobbly head settle.🤞

Gd1 is coming ‘home’ for a few days so will be pleased to have a catch-up with her on Thursday. She works so hard and has had to deal with a very nasty woman at work. Some middle aged women resent the youngsters coming in and DGD is more highly qualified than her. And this is in a ‘caring’ profession. .I think/hope the managers are dealing with it.
Susan- bullies are everywhere whatever the age. Sorry to hear your little gs is suffering. I hope things settle. 🙏

Take care and be kind 🌱

Good morning Mick and all. It's a greyer day on the Angus coast but the wind seems to have died back and it's dry.
I'm sorry to hear of all the problems, both physical and emotional. Life can be hard sometimes, especially at this time of year when we all desperately need some warm sunshine.
I'm sorry your little twin didn't get his procedure yesterday Bella, so frustrating when that happens. And I feel for your little DGS, Susan, who is being bullied. I wish there was some sort of personality transplant that could be carried out on bullies because I fear they will grow up to be unpleasant people. DGD1 was bullied by the same girl right through her schooldays. That girl was not a likeable child, and ditto now she's an adult. The whole bullying thing is so difficult to deal with. 🫂
DGS1 seems to have come through his first day of chemo unscathed. I'm not sure about his Mum and Dad though, who are looking after L'le Ollie! He's running everywhere at full tilt now and he's unstoppable. I think there might be a little sigh of relief when he goes to the other grandparents tomorrow 😉
I have tai chi this morning - for once after a good night's sleep - and then a 'big' shop at Tesco's. The tai chi I shall enjoy ........
Have a good day everyone x

Good morning from N Bucks where it really feels like Spring! I may be tempting fate but…
I am sorry to hear so many of you are suffering , I won’t name names because I might miss somebody but I do truly send gentle {{hugs}} and sincere wishes for relief for you.
I am off to have lunch with a friend who was flooded out of her lovely thatched cottage last September/October and has been renting about 12 miles away. Her insurers must be doing a very thorough job but given the history (3 floods in 10 years) I fear however good the restoration I would always worry about the next time. It must have knocked thousands if not tens of thousands off the value.
My new next door neighbours moved in yesterday but I have yet to see them. Barbara was a dear friend of 40 years- leaving big boots to fill.
Wishing you all a pleasant day and a better one for most.

Good morning Mick and all GN's on a cold looking but so far clear and bright north yorkshire morning.

It served me right this morning. Last night felt so rough just ignored the kitchen and went to bed. Consequently this morning, having had another rotten night had to wash up before I could even have any coffee. Of course it was all much more messy and greasy than if I had done it yesterday!! As I am rather creaking today, it took me quite a while to sort the mess out and was reliant on the stooI have there to sit on, but now everywhere clean and bright. I was rewarded by the joy of some wonderful uplifting Bach with lovely fresh coffee, so decided that the day could restart from there!

This morning I need to get myself sorted and out on the yellow peril and hope it doesnt rain, which they have promised us for later. I am going to the first of 6 free lessons in digital stuff. They are quoting it as for beginners, so I am hoping that I can sort of retrace my steps and that it will mean that those gaps in my knowledge will be filled in and I will have some practice and also undo any bad habits I have picked up over time.

I have a keyboard here because as a telegraphist I find the keyboard on the laptop irritating, as it cant seem to keep up with me and kept locking up. So I might end up learning some good ideas ,or be driven mad and want to throw their machines through the window.!! No, promise I shall be on my best behavour, as I know that lack of sleep has me on a short fuse . Anyway hope that I can glean some good ideas and especially about safety , which is always what worries me as no sooner have we worked out how to deal with scammers etc they come up with another trick!

So yesterday my plans of tackling the ironing yet again were derailed as a guitarist friend called and we ended up looking at quite a bit of music. He is a good player and can transpose things, but I am still trying to adjust to guitar instead of piano and we are going through repetoire finding what suits us both. At the moment the Patsy Klein piece Crazy is both quite a different thing for me to sing and rather apt for how I am feeling right now. Then we were looking at quite a lot of jazz pieces and then back to 1920's stuff like Bye bye Blackbird and Unforgetable so it was all cheering and should get me back to at least practising some scales every day. I used to practise every single day and it is only really since I moved here that I have let things slide, partly because it is in a flat, but time I got going again. Music is really so much part of my life whether listening or singing or dancing I need to get back to making it more important in my life again.

The sky has changed now and at one side it is very grey and lowering and looks ready to chuck it down with rain, whilst the sun is still shining on the other side. So dont know which way the weather will go but we might at least get some rainbows!

Thank you Marydoll for letting us know how you are and hope that things improve for you Bellasnana, you sound as though you have come to the end of your energy and sort of hit the stocks. You have had to dredge up all your stored energy to keep going whilst you feel so rotten, and your dd3 obviously doesnt recognise that whilst we can still do many things that it takes us some time to bounce back. /When I was younger I thought nothing of driving back all day from the continent and then going into work the following day. Couldnt even think how I did it now. Maybe she has not even thought of this. Do you think when things have calmed down a bit you , or perhaps someone else you know, could explain to her and get her to see that you need breaks and some time to yourself if you are to continue all your sterling efforts on their behalf. Surely it would be better for y ou to take 2 or 3 days off in a planned way and have a rest and then be able to carry on. Even on a selfish level, she should be able to see that if you do not work out something like this and have a back up ready to cover for you that you could then become ill and there would be much more problem trying to sort things out last minute. You do so much for them already and from what you say she does not seem very appreciative of your efforts.

Well wallabies in the garden sound very exotic to me right now. The most I have seen this morning is one pigeon walking around inspecting the tree and looking annoyed that there are no leaves to hide in and of course the squirrel has rushed up and down the fence flicking its tail at the pigeon to claim dominance of the area. Not another sign of wildlife at all.

Well time I got started sorting out for the morning, At least my cashmere sweaters smell lovely and are very soft and clean now. This afternoon the jobs of ironing and going through clothes in the wardrobe will reappear, and if the forecast is anything to go by I shall be happy to stay in and finally get on with them. well we shall see how the day pans out. Hoping for a good day for everyone . I nearly forgot, at last a little bunch of crocus have begun flowering in my garden. finally signs of spring here. Think that is what we all need is some sunshine, flowers and to be able toget out and about. May your day go well everyone

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders where it's cloudy but mild. And light!
So sorry Marydoll that just when you need to be feeling well, you aren't. I hope help will arrive!

Also Bellasnanna! the cheek of it.
My DD was rude to me one day so I asked her if she spoke to her DMiL the way she spoke to me? "Ofcourse not" was the reply. So I guess we should take comfort from these outbursts.

So glad your weekend went well Baubles ☺️

My busy day went very well. I gave a talk about myself along with 2 others at U3A art appreciation group.

An estate agent came to advise me and will try to give me a valuation.
My DH cousins came too and have experience clearing out parents' large houses so were happy to offer advice!

An excellent talk at the Historical Society in the evening.

Today knitting group, community lunch and bills to pay and phone calls to make. I seem to have been hacked on Messenger.
Have a lovely day, everyone.

Oopsadaisy1 Tue 25-Feb-25 08:14:35

Good morning everyone from a dry but dull Oxfordshire.

Not been too good lately but I now have some pills from the Dr. Hopefully they will sort me out and make me want to get out of bed each day.

MD 💐hope you get the support you need.
Happy birthday to Mr.C
Bella our ACs can appear so ungrateful sometimes.

Have a good day everyone, let’s hope we soon see some sun, it’s very muddy and squelchy underfoot here, too wet to garden.
Virtual hugs for those who are stressed or unwell.

Annapops Tue 25-Feb-25 08:12:29

Good morning all from a mild County Durham.

Well, we're all back from the birthday weekend which was a great success. Karaoke evening went well with GS1 happily participating for the first time. GD 2 sang my Mama Mia favourites, prepared just for me.

Having arrived home GS1 got in touch to say he had the keys to the house he has bought. We were all anxious for him that the purchase would go through as promised.....and it did! As you can imagine he's so excited. Quite a lot of work to be done as it's an old house with a huge garden but I'm sure he and his girlfriend will eventually make it their own dream home.

So sad to hear so many of you are feeling unwell and troubled at the moment. I understand how you must be feeling too Bella. Upsets with family have the same effect on me, I sometimes wish I was the type of person who just, "brushes it off". Another price we pay for love, but you were right to say "no". I'm sure, upon reflection, your DD will be giving you a much needed hug before long.

Sending thanks to all who need them today.

I’ve just created a new post under Site stuff re photos Ekwa

EkwaNimitee Tue 25-Feb-25 07:55:41

Good morning Mick and every one from Carlisle where we have cloud with bright patches here and there. A sun may appear at some point?

Yesterday I had a busy housework morning. As it was a pleasant day, I then went out and spent a while in the open garage cleaning old plastic plant pots to take to the garden centre which allegedly recycles them. I hope...I don't want to dump them in the recycling centre where they certainly won't be.
Having polished my halo, I went back in for coffee and to continue my book. Enough! I did a rare thing and gave up on it. It's the Hilary Mantel 'Beyond Black', a tale about the life of a medium and her sidekick. Out of my comfort zone but moderately interesting at first. It just got very tedious indeed and a leaf through the remaining half showed that the tediousness went on and on! I just thought 'life's too short' and that was it.
Today, a bit more housework this morning and in the afternoon, I should go for a walk and get some exercise especially as it's forecast to be dry.

Marydoll, I do hope matters improve very soon, it must be bad when you don't feel up to posting.

I'm another who is sorry Mizuna has left as her posts were always interesting.

Are we ever going to get photos back? I realise why they've gone but I did like to see some of the lovely pictures some of you posted.

And wishing you all the best of days if possible.

Jaxjacky Tue 25-Feb-25 07:50:02

Morning, we’ve had rain overnight and more due until it brightens up later.
Voluntary phone was busy yesterday, I have admin to do for that this morning before I meet a friend for lunch.
We came second in last night’s quiz with a corking last round, most surprising!
Hair trim this afternoon
Bellas well done for putting your foot down, you do so much and there has to come a point to say no, good job sorting your garage too.
Happy Birthday Mrc 🥳🎂🥂

Good morning from a bright blue skied Black Country for once!

Walked 7 miles on our walk yesterday, there were only 3 of us, usually at least 10, and usually walk about 4-5 miles. Consequently I was shattered and had a nap in the afternoon, as was back too late for Line Dancing.

This morning I am visiting an old work colleague. She was my Manager in my last job, but we have stayed in touch. She lives near Mum, so then taking Mum to lunch and food shopping.

Sorry to hear about your upset Bellas sometime I think our adult children forget how much we do do for them. It is a major task you do looking after her children.

Wishing you all the best day possible, with special thoughts of Marydoll hoping the Hospital can make things easier for you flowers

brook2704 Tue 25-Feb-25 07:45:47

Good morning everyone from Inverness where a showery day is forecast
Marydoll sorry to hear things are so difficult for you, hoping the hospital get back to you today 💐
Yesterday afternoon we enjoyed a trip up to Dunrobin Castle, their gardens are open in the winter for the snowdrop festival. There were so many and looked very beautiful, especially the when the sun came out. We then enjoyed a warming coffee in a lovely cafe in nearby Dornoch, I’d not been there for ages. Today I’m going to the gym and then meeting my friend for coffee.
Bellas 💐
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings 💐

Good morning from a damp W Kent. A free day today so I am thinking of going through some of the many books in the house, a nice peaceful occupation.
Bella , gM , harrisgran and Marydoll thinking of you all
Happy birthday MrC

Good morning everyone from mid Essex. It’s light now, cloudy and not too cold, sunshine and showers today I think. Yesterday’s rain cleared during the morning and it was a sunny afternoon but with a very heavy shower just as the children were coming out of school. My “lawn” felt very squelchy when I went down the garden. The poor crocuses are taking a battering. Damp dusted the whole house, will vacuum today. Then I’ll see my friend with dementia.
rosesandlilac well done for choosing a new mattress, I hope you don’t have to wait too long for it to be delivered.
GG I’m pleased you can see your knee again, and hope that your poor foot will be better soon.
Have the best day possible everyone.

Good morning from Shropshire where the sun is shining.

We had a lovely day with DGS1 yesterday and DD2 when she came home from work at lunchtime.DGS was seven last week and is such a lovely boy. There are issues at school with one boy affecting not just B.The school are dealing with it in the correct manner but B has asked to go to a different school😢DD and SIL are so good listening and explaining but I feel sad that he is having to deal with these feelings and also deal with a bully at seven years old.

Today is haircut this morning then getting everything organised for the rest of the week this afternoon.

Marydoll, thank you for letting us know what’s going on,I really hope you get some help and support🙏🏻

Bellasnana💐

Wishing everyone a good day🦩

GrandmaC47 Tue 25-Feb-25 07:24:11

Llfl, wallabies in the garden sounds so exotic. Enjoy your marathon train journey.
Bellasnana, sometimes our children forget how old we are don’t they.
Hope you feel better soon, Harriigran and grandMattie.
Marydoll, I hope you get the help you need, we all miss your novellas.
Happy Birthday, Mrcornergran.
I collected my new glasses yesterday, so far so good. Just need the sun to shine to test the prescription sunglasses.
Hairdresser this morning but no plans afterwards. It’s half term here so no dgd or granddogs.
Have as good a day as possible everyone.

RosesandLilac Tue 25-Feb-25 07:16:46

Good morning, it’s damp here in south Glos and apparently we’re supposed to see some sunshine today 🤞🏻
Sending hugs and 💐to those with troubles and illnesses x
Yesterday I went to a store in Melksham to try mattresses, I needed to reassure myself by trying them out before buying. After much lying around I bought one in their sale, painfully expensive but it’ll probably see me out! After years of going cheaper I decided I can’t ignore my aching hips any more. I came home and put a duvet under my bottom sheet and actually slept well for once!
I also got the car washed while I was out and popped into Lidl for a few bits. Quite a satisfying morning one way or another.
Today it’s housework, cleaning etc and if it’s dry I will do a bit of tidying in the garden.
I hope today goes well for you all 🌹

GrannyGravy13 Tue 25-Feb-25 07:10:48

Morning everyone, the sky is grey, not sure what the weather has planned for my little corner of S E Essex.

I can now see my knee, all strips, stitches and dressings have been removed and I can now begin bending it gentle, a little bit further each day. It is going to be easier to walk, just need to wait for the fracture to heal now.

Dear Marydoll so sorry to learn that you are struggling, sending (((hugs)))I hope the hospital can help you.

Bellasnana I think sometimes our AC forget that we are not as young and robust as we once were, I hope you feel more like yourself soon.

FGT2 (((hugs)))

Hope your day is stress free folks🙋‍♀️

karmalady Tue 25-Feb-25 07:07:00

Good morning from s somerset, dry and sunny today

Life is so up and down for some of you flowers no names, you know who you are. I hope that better days are around the corner

I never realised that there would be so many mini rivers on the roads to my dentist yesterday, no floods but driving back was difficult at times, Shiny wet road, bright sun and eye adaptation becomes so slow with age so that the dashboard numbers become invisible. The river was very high in the town I was visiting. It won`t take much more rain to have floods again

I am not a tidy person, I go to fetch something and leave more things out of place. Too old to change now but perhaps I might tidy today

Have a good day

cornergran Tue 25-Feb-25 06:58:36

marydoll, a hug and flowers.
