I know we have to expect the unexpected from Trump but the video is just so weird and, well, amateurish that I am hesitating to believe it’s meant to be taken seriously.

Bearded belly dancers, a huge gold statue of Trump, and Musk and Netanyahu feature too.

I understand he didn't look at it properly and just retweeted it. It's been taken down.

I can't find the link now but I read on one of the fact checking sites that this was a video released as a satirical sendup aftert the statement that Trump made that he could use the Gaza Strip as a leisure playground to stop the war. Trump either thought it very funny so he posted it or he didn't get that it was satirical. As he hasn't made a comment with the posting of the video, we don't yet know.

Much as I dislike this video, as there are no other proposals for the Gaza site, (as far as I know) Trump’s plan is the only one on the table.

Well seeing as the video was posted by Trump I feel it is far from a spoof but a vision of what Gaza could be in Trumps surreal mind. As for the bearded men dancing, in many parts of the ME the clerics and Islamist extremists are referred to as ‘the bearded men’, so surely a crude attempt to demoralise them in the video.
Could be wrong but otherwise it makes no sense.

The more I look at that video the more convinced I am it’s a spoof.

It’s got all the ingredients - the giant gold statue of the man himself, the boy with the Trump balloon the Trump Gaza hotel and Trump and Netanyahu sitting side by side on sun loungers in swimming trunks.
The bizarre bearded ‘women’ is surely the last thing Trump would endorse if he had been involved !

If his genuine plan for Gaza somehow comes to fruition, a proper, professionally produced video would be on show which would be nothing like this effort.

Ok Annie but I don’t know how you can know that anymore than I can. I can only base this on the fact that newborns are being cared for in refugee camps where the weather can be really cold at this time of year. So the news of newborn fatalities from hypothermia does not seem unusual.
Above and beyond that, like you, and like all of us, we can only go off what is in the news.

The problem with that is that we all pick the pieces of news that suits our own agenda. Very obvious on GN. The Arab world shuns Palastine; too much trouble, by the way.

Of course the two state idea wouldn’t work. Israel will always be at risk of another horrific attack all the time Palestinians run by Hamas are in Gaza.

It was on the BBC politics programme at lunch, the version cirulating does come from Trump's social media.
America are not the only powerful country in the world. I think because mediating world peace / war has been left to America for so long (is that the Pax Americana?) they think they rule the world. American culture may have some pretensions to do that, but actually America the state doesn't.
Yes it's stupid & provoking. Yes if he built it the tourists would come, recent ethnic cleansing & genocide forgotten. But I don't believe the world will stand by & let this happen. In some less visible corner like Cambodia & Pol Pot, the refugees in ethiopia, unfortunately these things pass, but Israel / Palestine? There really will be all hell let loose if Trump / Netanyahu try it.

I would like to believe that all hell will break loose if they try it but tbh a lot has been done to Gaza and the people there already that I thought would make all hell break loose, however, am still waiting for that to happen, it seems a long time coming, and so I wonder what actually will make all hell break loose. Maybe this resort will be built and Gaza will become like Dubai. I honestly don’t think it really matters anymore to anyone what happens to Gaza, do we even continue to count the dead or the newborn babies who died from hypothermia?

Of course it isn’t. A two state solution has always been on the table, but the Israeli’s have never supported it.

And you can see why now!
Allowing the people their choice of government, hamas got over a thousand Israelis murdered and over two hundred taken as hostages.

I totally agree with Oreo. The two-state system would never, ever work with so much hatred and mistrust that has been there from day one.
Some people have a wonderful belief in human nature which might one day prevail. The current World climate does not seem to be moving in that direction. Money and Power is King.

Just google it, is all over every news outlet and they all say the same.

If he wasn't real, I'd say Trump was a spoof, AI generated by Putin or Musk.
