Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 6° and cloudy. Happy St. David's Day to all our Welsh grans. And happy anniversary to you both Cornergran. Ash I hope your hip settles down after a rest. Bellasnana happy birthday to your dd.
Yesterday I was a positive whirlwind of activity. I did all the housework and washing, stripped the bed and washed and dried the duvet cover too, as well as putting on a new spring flower one. I swept up the stones and twigs which were littering the pavement outside my house and did some weeding. I even cleaned the fridge. What I didn't do, was go to the library, so I'm out of new reading material.
Today I'm meeting my friend for breakfast at the local garden centre. I want to pick up a couple of things to add to dds birthday present for tomorrow. Then later dgs2 is coming for a sleepover. I am prepared to be all sorts of characters in the world he creates. Needless to say, I'm looking forward to it. Have a good day all.

Good morning from a sunny but frosty N. Bucks.
Our friends are off home to Devon this morning after a lovely week and I am off to a ‘DESMOND’’ course to find out all about Type 2 diabetes.
Should answer a lot of questions for me, hope the others make a good group.
Happy birthday Jax and Happy Anniversary Mr & Mrs Cornergran.
Wishing a good day for all especially those feeling below par in any way.

Good morning everyone from DD1s in Cambridge where it’s a bit misty but looks like a clear day
Happy Anniversary Mr&MrsCorner, enjoy the museum 💐❤️🥂
I’ve just been joined in bed by DGS1, DH has gone downstairs to make a cuppa and everyone else is still asleep. We arrived yesterday afternoon after an easy troublefree journey and looked after the boys last night whilst DD1 &SiL went out. This morning it’s swimming, cycling & football etc but this afternoon the other grandparents are coming round so it’ll be a full house. DD1 is cooking for us all and takes everything in her stride
It’s disappointing when plans get cancelled whywhywhy hope your DGDs can rearrange soon and in the meantime enjoy your garden
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings 💐

“A pinch and a punch and no returns!’.

Good morning everybody from Málaga. March has finally come around. February this year seemed to last for ages! It’d dry here at present I haven’t looked at the forecast for the day. I think we plan to stay home and after an early lunch, go out for the afternoon, weather permitting! It gets chilly around teatime at this time of year so we prefer to be back home by then.

I did well culling my clothes yesterday morning. If in doubt I threw it out, hence I now have some empty hangers in my wardrobe. If I can lose some weight by summer I won’t need to cull further but if not, out some more will have to go. I’m sick of keeping stuff in the hope I’ll wriggle back into them. Makes you think you’ve more choices - when really not. This summer I shall either be svelte or ruthless. …

Good morning from a misty W Kent. Yesterday’s meet up with old friends went well and the meal was good if expensive. Later a chat to DD2 was a lovely catch up.
Today is quiet, a bit of baking and a curry to make
Happy Anniversary Cornergran
Happy birthday to your DD Bellasnana
I hope your eyes settle a bit gM, I am struggling here a little until I can have a new prescription.
Best wishes

Wow! That's a quarter of the year gone in a couple of weeks.......downhill to Xmas everybody.

Chilly and damp and miserable in Mid Lancs, as usual.

(Anther full month until then, surely).
January and February - 2 months out of the 12?
I make that only a sixth - hardly worth worrying about! grin

Good morning from a cold midlands
Granddaughters were coming again tonight but cancelled yet again. I feel so down in the dumps. A day in the garden if it’s dry. Everyone have the best day that you can.

Good morning all from a chilly but bright North Leicestershire.

We are going to watch DGS4 play football this morning - at least it isn't raining.

Have the best day possible everyone.

Thank you cornergran and a very Happy Anniversary to you and Mr C.💐🥂🍾🎉

Morning Mick, morning All from a frosty corner of Somerset.

Yesterdays hospital visit was indeed a long one but I came away with a smile. Th consultant explained convincingly why he believes I don’t have systemic lupus in spite of the ‘odd’ blood markers. More bloods were taken for confirmation, he’ll write explaining his thinking (basically bloods are normal for me) once he has the results

There was more good news from the computer wizard, the machine has had surgery and is waiting to be collected on Monday. A very reasonable price too. Much as I love my iPad I do miss his big brother.

Its our 56th wedding anniversary today which is of course also St David’s Day. It snowed and was oh so cold, thankfully the sun will shine today. We always have a vase of daffodils, although I tease Mr C by saying I’ll arrange leeks instead. Today will be active, we’re taking our grandson to a museum, don’t laugh, we’ll enjoy it. A much more leisurely day tomorrow, lunch booked at a favourite restaurant and not much else, you never know we might finally get that walk in the sun.

Hope Tuesday brings positive glasses news grandmattie. Birthday wishes to your daughter bellasnana.

Have the best day possible everyone.

Good morning, Michael and all GNs. Cold here in South Yorkshire but the sun is rising and it’s going to be a fine day. DD took me to my physio assessment yesterday which was a long way from home. I’m glad I didn’t have to drive it. She was, as always, a lovely steady presence. I have a lot of painful exercises to do. I hope they work.
I’ll do a bit of food shopping today, then some work outside today and cook a curry for a family lunch tomorrow. I shall also buy daffodils as DH, being a Welshman, always liked to have them on St David’s Day.
Have the best day you can, folks.

Wishing you all the best day possible🦩

Good morning, a frosty start here on my hillside in south Glos, another sunny day ahead I hope! It makes such a difference being out in sunshine.
Yesterday morning I was taken to a new art group by a friend and spent a lovely morning drawing. My friend is a great artist, very talented and she’s taking me right back to the basics which are missing from my attempts to draw. I learnt so much from her yesterday it was really inspiring! She’s going to teach me more so very much looking forward to that.
A lovely dog walk in sunshine yesterday afternoon, lots of birdsong and the blossom is coming out on the hawthorn trees, a very delicate little flower in shades of palest pink.
Today an early dog walk, I need to collect a meat order from the village then an all day zoom art workshop- the internet is very dodgy at the moment so I have no idea how that will go 🙄
Wishing you all a lovely weekend 🌹

grandMattie Sat 01-Mar-25 06:22:23

Thank you for your kind comments.
I have complicated corrections for my eyes and unfortunately I can’t get a new prescription until those wretched (but very helpful) eyedrops are finished.
I have an appointment at the eye hospital on Tuesday, so shall do a spot of begging… 🤞🤞

Good morning from s somerset, sunny today and dry, lovely day

A plot visit yesterday, to put bee friendly plants in, I had a chat with two people too, loving that, short chats almost every time I go there

I have no idea about today but do think I will be taking an exercise walk around town outskirts. Spinning is progressing very well too, I do a bit every day, whilst watching a nice series on prime

I will find things to do this morning, always busy during the morning when I have most energy. Perhaps it is time to re-kondo my layering tops in my drawers. When dh was still with me, we used to have an identical, large, chest of drawers each. Now I have two and they are full, perhaps I will take my time and sort everything in those drawers but then again the sun will call me outside as my garden is a sun trap. Drawer sorting is really best on a rainy day

Have a good day

Good morning from a chilly but dry Torbay with another sunny day expected.

The eye problem must be very frustrating for you, grandMattie, so I hope today sees some improvement. It must have been a novelty for you to be waited on for tea yesterday!

I had hoped to go into Torquay today but I’ve slept awkwardly on the hip that has given problems before so I may abandon that plan for now unless it eases.

Happy weekend, everyone! 🦩🥰🦩💐🦩

Good morning from Malta where it is cloudy with a chance of rain and a high of 17°C.

DD2 turns 41 today, how fast the years have flown. I remember every detail of the day she was born, a very quick, relatively painless arrival into the world which I was grateful for after a long, nineteen hour ordeal with DD1 two years previously.

I never imagined they would both end up living so far away from me in the US. It’s hard being apart and more so with what’s happening over there at present.

Yesterday littlest was still not himself and missed his Carnival party at nursery. Brother went off happily wearing his doctor’s outfit and I took littlest with me to the hairdresser where he was an angel watching me have my hair cut and blow dried.

As it is Carnival weekend I have four days free so have a lot to get done, but am meeting a friend later as we have both had stressful weeks so it will be good to catch up.

So sorry your eyes are troubling you dear grandMattie. That sounds an awful long time to have to suffer. Is there no way you could get some help?💐

Well, I must get up and get started. Wishing a good day to all ☀️

White 🐇 🐰 rabbits. Officially the first day of spring, and it will be dry with wall-to-wall sunshine ☀️!
I felt rotten yesterday, with my eye/s playing up. As the prescription is no longer any good, and not able to see the opticians for another 5 weeks until I have finished the steroid drops, I’m struggling. They make me very dizzy at times, so they come off and on the whole time. Not a very satisfactory situation, unfortunately.
The Spanish class went well; the lady who grumbles and is very critical was away and two other students as well.
In the afternoon, I had been invited to a “fellowship tea” at the vicarage - a rather vain attempt to get the various usually slightly hermetic congregations to meet each other. A pleasant afternoon at which I was served and hadn’t baked a thing. It was a nice change!
Today, church coffee. In the afternoon, I shall make an appliqué tulip 🌷 cushion cover for my upstairs neighbour; her birthday is next week.
I hope all those with emotional mountains to climb find the courage, hav3 a good weekend.
Carpe diem 🦩🦩🦩🦩

Hello from a very warm Sydney!

Two exhibitions visited today and then lunch in the oldest pub in Sydney. My sister is cooking a pork dish for dinner. Bro in law is having a nap.
