Do you celebrate Easter?

Yes, I celebrate Easter as it's a very important time for Christians. We buy Easter eggs for our daughters and five grandchildren and they all come here on one of the days for a buffet celebration. We really enjoy Easter snd I live going to church on Easter morning.

I am not religious, thanks to the nuns so I do not celebrate anything.

More of a Spring Celebration for us, nobody in my family is religious. We enjoy a leg of lamb and chocolate eggs, and we eat hot cross buns all year round! It’s nice to get the family together on a Bank Holiday when there is more daylight and a bit of warmth in the sun!

Yes. I attend church (as I do regularly) My belief and faith are so important to me.

The most meaningful Easters for me are those when I have managed to use Lent and Holy Week to prepare, following the sufferings of Jesus to the Cross on Good Friday, through to celebrating the resurrection on Easter Sunday.
Some years I have been away, and missed out. It is never quite the same.
My late husband was determined not to turn Easter into “another Christmas”, so we focussed very much on the religious side. The children did get Easter eggs though.

Yes we celebrate Easter with a family get together and chocolate eggs. But……as we know that Jesus wasn’t actually born on December 25th, I do wish that we could have the same time for Easter every year, say the first weekend of April so we all know where we are. I’m not religious so I’m sorry if this offends those that are.

Easter is the most important time in the Christian calendar so I suppose it is not a public holiday which needs to be at a convenient time (although it is a good time as it's spring.

It would be a huge undertaking, a consensus of all the different branches of Christianity in the world, which encompasses about 2.4 billion Christians, to make such a change.

Easter Sunday is always on the first Sunday after the first ecclesiastical full moon that follows the spring equinox.

If you follow the Gregorian calendar it's on 20th April this year; the Julian calendar, followed by Orthodox churches, is different so Easter might be on a different date but it's the same date this year!

We do celebrate Easter, usually with a ‘hunt’ in the garden if the GCn are about. Sometimes it coincides with DH’s birthday so that makes for a whole family gathering.

Babs03 we also have small GCn so the sugar levels are kept as low as we can. The older GCn have their chocolate fix in the evening after the tinies have gone to bed!

We go to the washing of the feet service on Maundy Thursday, the mass on Good Friday. There is a multi faith precession of the cross which stops off at the different churches on Good Friday. On Easter Sunday we attend early mass and then weather permitting we hid eggs in the garden for our DGds to find. We then have a family meal, we don’t eat lamb, if the weather is good it’s a barbecue.

I am really looking forward to Easter and spring this year since it's been an especially cold winter. I have my Easter/spring decorations up early.My family will have a special dinner on Easter Sunday. We used to make homemade chocolate covered fondant eggs.

We celebrate. Lots of flowers in the house, a special meal, chocolate eggs. I enjoy it more than Christmas - all the fun, less pressure.

Me too and I have to confess to loving chocolate Easter Eggs.

Definitely celebrated here. Sometimes with family but not always. Always church, always roast lamb and plenty of daffodils to decorate the house. A beautiful time of year.

We don’t, and never really have. The GCs aren’t allowed chocolate and we’re not religious, so we get together with the family for the bank holiday weekend and have a nice meal, but we tend to do that anyway on a bank holiday.

How sad, unless of course they are still very little, or have an allergy.

I’ve always though out rightly banning things like chocolate, fizzy drinks, fast foods etc leads to big issues when these children get a little bigger and more independent.

Yes! With hot cross buns, always an egg hunt in the house, with clues written by your truly (which rhymed), with lots of chocolate and always pancakes on Shrove Tuesday, with unspeakable naughty toppings and fillings!

As a Christian Easter is very importnt to me. It is more significant in the Christian faith than Christmas as it celebrates the resurrection. I often go to stay with my son and daughter in law at Easter as I enjoy the way it is celebrated in their church. My DiL is a trainee vicar so last year had to work in the week before Easter - one of her busiest times. I went to stay to look after my grandson, whose nursery closed the week before, and I had a lovely time with him. I hope it may be repeated this year but don't know yet.

Only by eating Maltesers. I'm an atheist so I have no interest in Easter. Except for Maltesers.

I never did and never will, partly because of the religious stuff that goes with it.

However I love the chicks and choccy eggs!
