Auntieflo (A message from her DD)

I am Auntieflo’s DD, and I introduced her to this site some years ago, as I enjoy Mumsnet- (under another name.)

Auntieflo wanted her friends on here (Greenfinch and others) to know that she has been quite unwell for some time and was admitted to hospital over 2 weeks ago. She has now sadly deteriorated and is for Palliative Care only.

She has been referred to the local hospice, so if any of you pray, please pray that a space can be found for her soon as it will be a much more peaceful environment for her there than the hospital.

She is currently in a 2 bed bay, and I have said I could read her any replies that she gets when I visit again tomorrow.

Thank you to anyone who has chatted and met up with her over the years.

Oh Grannylicious I have just read your message and am so sad. I thought your Mum would bounce back again as she usually does. I heard from her last week and she sounded like her usual positive self. Please send her my love and let her know I am thinking of her and praying for her. Remind her of the first time she joined our meet-up in John Lewis in Reading. I obviously did not recognise her and went up to a perfect stranger and said “Are you Auntieflo?”I had to explain. As others have said she is a very kind lady and even made some masks for our family in the early days of covid. My son in law took one of his shirts round to her house and she made masks for us all that lasted and lasted. Tell her that my son still has his ( he never throws anything away !)
I do hope a hospice place comes up soon. RHB is a great place but not very peaceful.
Love you you all.

I do remember Auntieflo (from a couple of the 'nice' threads),& that she had an illness, some time ago.
Sending my love & prayers to all the family. x

I am sorry to here about auntieflo.

Thank you for letting us know. So often people disappear and we can only guess what has happened.

I sincerely hope a hospice bed will become available soon. I only know auntieflo as a poster, we never met, but at times like this there is an invisible thread that holds us all together.

I too hope that a bed is found for her soon and she is comfortable and pain free.
